Esta dissertação tem por objetivo investigar o desenvolvimento de identidades de sujeitos diaspóricos em formas de narrativas nas quais a memória tem um papel crucial. As autobiografias e os memoirs têm despertado a curiosidade de muitas pessoas interessadas nos processos de construção de identidade de indivíduos que vivem em realidades singulares e nos relatos que dão sobre suas próprias vidas. Assim, o crescente interesse em diásporas e nos decorrentes deslocamentos fragmentários, provocados pelo distanciamento de raízes individuais e pelo contato com diferentes códigos culturais, poderiam legitimar as narrativas autobiográficas como maneiras estratégicas de sintetizar os nichos de identificação de autores e autoras que experimentaram uma ruptura diaspórica. Desta forma, ao analisar estes tipos de narrativas, deve-se estar atento às especificidades de algumas escritoras que passaram por processos diaspóricos e a como elas recorreram as suas memórias pessoais para, em termos literários, expressar suas subjetividades. Considerando todas essas idéias, tenciono usar Annie John e Lucy, de Jamaica Kincaid e When I Was Puero Rican e Almost a Woman, de Esmeralda Santiago como fontes de análise e amostras do desenvolvimento de identidades diaspóricas em narrativas autobiográficas

Les acadjas traditionnels dans le sud-est du Bénin

This study mission on acadja, the traditional way of fishing in the lagoons of the South-East part of Benin, permits us to understand how well-established this fishing practice is, in terms of time and spatial extention. The exploitation of acadja has a great profitability but it also represents the source of some problems as deterioration of branches, deforestation and social conflits. However, when acadjas are rationally exploited, they constitute a hope for waters which are in the process of losing their biological richness.

The authors studied the circulation in the South Tropical Atlantic from hydrology and current measurements made during a cruise of the N.O. Capricorne in Nov 1971. Direct current measurements confirm the existence of the eastwards South Equatorial Counter-Current. The authors discuss the counter-current as confirmed by current measurements and high salinity core.

Recasting 'Black Venus' in the new African Diaspora

This article explores the ways in which transnational feminist analysis can be deployed to reconfigure new gendered and racialized cartographies of the African Diaspora in Europe. First, I position contemporary film representations of trafficked Nigerian sex workers in Italy in dialogical relation to 19th century discourses of black sexuality - in particular, Sharpley-Whiting's (1999) reinscribed 'Black Venus Master Narrative' - and assess historical and geographical (dis)continuities in their modes of signification. Second, by linking endemic factors feeding the supply of Nigerian women for the purposes of (in)voluntary participation in the Italian sex industry, such as the localized feminization of poverty and regionally specific perceptions of sex work as a temporary economic strategy, I engage with broader feminist debates on victimization and agency in global sex work and migration literatures. In doing so, this dialectical think piece highlights the gendered complexities of new African diasporic formations and the ways in which their growth is facilitated by broader illegal networks that shape and are shaped by vicissitudes in glocalized economies. © 2004 Elsevier Ltd. L'influence atlantique dans les montagnes portugaises au sud duTage

Prenant la flore et la végétation comme des indicateurs du climat local, on fait une analyse abrégée de l'influence atlantique sur quatre montagnes portugaises, s¡tuées au sud du fleuve Tage, en plain domaine méditerranéen. Elles sont distríbuées depuis le nord-est de l‘Alentejo jusqu’a l’extreme sud-ouest du territoire.L'observation des données floristiques a montré que la dominance des espéces méditerrennes est générale, bien que entre un mínimum de 34.0% à S. Mamede et un maximum de 48.9 % à Portel. On a vérifié aussi, en commun, un trés faible degré d'endémisme, lequel atteint la valeur la plus élevée -1.2%-, dans la montagne de Monchique.
