It starts with a brief description of the business, followed by an industry analysis of the rural tourism market in Portugal and an intensive competitor analysis to evaluate Quinta dos I’s’ competitive advantages. The project then defines a marketing plan to generate awareness and establish the cottage in the market. Finally, a financial analysis is performed to examine the outcome of Quinta dos I’s’ recommended strategic activities. The results of this project show that the cottage is profitable after the first year of operation and expects to grow annually.

Background
G21 Geelong Region Alliance (G21), through the partnership activities of the
G21 Health & Wellbeing Pillar, seeks to position health and wellbeing as a
central element to all regional planning processes and outcomes. As a result, G21 wanted to explore the potential application of the World Health
Organisation’s (WHO) ‘Healthy Cities’ approach across the region to provide a comprehensive framework and set of principles to inform future planning and decision-making.
With this aim, G21 commissioned Deakin University to undertake a 6-month
independent research project. The research project involved two stages:
Part 1: A Healthy Region Research Report involved scoping and determining:
- The suitability of the World Health Organisations (WHO) ‘Healthy Cities’
approach to the G21 region; and
- The capacity of G21 Geelong Region Alliance to be the organisation to
facilitate this approach across the region.

The evaluation of new ventures often involves two key aspects of entrepreneurial business plans: how best to write them and how best to rate (evaluate) them. Ultimately the performance of the venture should be the definitive criterion of quality. Surprisingly, the writing, rating and performance effects of entrepreneurial business plans (EBPs) comprise three related but under researched areas. This article empirically tested principles for writing and rating entrepreneurial business plans to draw inferences on how to improve the private equity investment evaluation process. A simplified perspective of General Systems Theory guided our empirical investigation of the input and outcome of the VC investment decision. Our empirical investigation reveals that entrepreneurial business plans that comport with the writing principles from the literature improve a new venture's likelihood of success.

How to write an unsuccessful entrepreneurial business plan : content analysis of the normative literature reveals a flawed paradigm

The study's aim was to investigate whether an Entrepreneurial Business Planning (EBP) paradigm could be discovered as a body of core, common maxims within the normative EBP literature (works of the 'how-to-write-a-successful-new-venture-business-plan' genre). It employed content analysis techniques adapted mainly from the methodological prescriptions of Krippendorf (1980) and Carney (1972). The textual investigation produced a comprehensive, quantitative data base capable of sufficient interpretative richness to discover that an established Entrepreneurial Business Planning paradigm does exist. Its major elements embrace two key assumptions, four strong mandates and four weaker mandates.

The discovery is significant for two main reasons. First, it provides a formally-researched, explicitly-articulated EBP paradigm. This can replace the anecdotal, unarticulated assumption (implicit in most of the normative EBP literature) that an EBP paradigm 'probably exists'. Second, the research redresses some of the imbalance between entrepreneurship teaching- where Entrepreneurial Business Planning is at the core of international curricula - and entrepreneurship research which has virtually ignored EBP as a topic worthy of serious scrutiny. A firm basis for critical, scholarly exploration of the neglected EBP field is now established. This takes the theory and practice of EBP into a new era beginning with recognition that the discovered EBP paradigm is badly flawed and likely, if blindly applied, to lead to the writing of unsuccessful business plans.

A critical evaluation of the standardisation potential of business plan evaluation aids (BPEA) used in venture capital investment decision-making

The research objective was to perform a critical evaluation and comparison of four, representative Business Plan Evaluation Aids (BPEA) to facilitate constructive discussion of the proposition that greater standardisation of venture capital decision-making might be both desirable and possible.

The four BPEA were systematically compared using a structured, taxonomic process employing seven key criteria. The evidence of this investigation suggests a clear superiority for BPEAs, which are based on the known attributes of successful ventures and use actuarial modelling. Discussion centred on the importance of using BPEAs in a quest for greater consistency of venture capital investment decision-making.

This master thesis offered a unique chance to interact with experienced supervisors in venture capitalism and project investment. It could serve as guidelines for entrepreneurs who intend to raise funds. Le varie funzioni che esso svolge, sono di natura sia interna all’impresa, evidenziando all’alta direzione le conseguenze economiche e finanziarie di determinate decisioni, che esterna all’impresa, volta ad illustrare il progetto ai vari stake-holders. L’obiettivo del presente lavoro è di offrire un contributo a coloro cui compete il compito di redigere un Business Plan, in ordine ai contenuti, ai criteri e agli strumenti logici e tecnici per la sua redazione, avendo comunque ben presente che ogni progetto imprenditoriale si caratterizza con peculiarità proprie. Pertanto, nella prima parte del presente lavoro, dopo un illustrazione delle molteplici funzioni del Business Plan, verranno fornite precise e concrete indicazioni su come deve essere articolato un buon piano d’impresa, soffermandosi in particolare sui contenuti dei vari argomenti che occorre esaminare all’interno dello stesso. Nella seconda parte verrà descritta la nascita e la struttura della Rebernig Supervisioni S.r.l., azienda con la quale ho collaborato per la redazione del presente lavoro. After exploring the leadership challenges of post-war nation building, the proposed business plan focuses on implementing a youth leadership program in Iraq, employing a wider participation model, and a lengthier, more involved learning model from existing programs.
