Proxy reconstructions of tropical Atlantic sea surface temperature (SST) that extend beyond the period of instrumental observations have primarily focused on centennial to millennial variability rather than on seasonal to multidecadal variability. Here we present monthly-resolved records of Sr/Ca (a proxy of SST) from fossil annually-banded Diploria strigosa corals from Bonaire (southern Caribbean Sea). The individual corals provide time-windows of up to 68 years length, and the total number of 295 years of record allows for assessing the natural range of seasonal to multidecadal SST variability in the western tropical Atlantic during snapshots of the mid- to late Holocene. Comparable to modern climate, the coral Sr/Ca records reveal that mid- to late Holocene SST was characterised by clear seasonal cycles, persistent quasi-biennial and prominent interannual as well as inter- to multidecadal-scale variability. However, the magnitude of SST variations on these timescales has varied over the last 6.2 ka. The coral records show increased seasonality during the mid-Holocene consistent with climate model simulations indicating that southern Caribbean SST seasonality is induced by insolation changes on orbital timescales, whereas internal dynamics of the climate system play an important role on shorter timescales. Interannual SST variability is linked to ocean-atmosphere interactions of Atlantic and Pacific origin. Pronounced interannual variability in the western tropical Atlantic is indicated by a 2.35 ka coral, possibly related to a strengthening of the variability of the El Niño/Southern Oscillation throughout the Holocene. Prominent inter- to multidecadal SST variability is evident in the coral records and slightly more pronounced in the mid-Holocene. We finally argue that our coral data provide a target for studying Holocene climate variability on seasonal and interannual to multidecadal timescales, when using further numerical models and high-resolution proxy data.

采用PCR技术获得了中国鲿科鱼类线粒体DNA细胞色素b基因1138bp全序列.所得序列与GenBank中分布于日本、韩国和俄罗斯的鲿科2属9种鱼类同一基因序列排序,并选用鲇形目鲇科的大口鲇、钝头鮠科的鳗尾缺和伦氏(鱼央)以及脂鲤目的断线脂鲤作外类群.分析了细胞色素b基因序列,计算了Kimura双因子遗传距离和鲿科鱼类线粒体DNA的进化速率,用最大简约法和邻接法构建了鲿科鱼类分子系统树,得出如下结论:(1)线粒体DNA序列分析显示所测定的鲇形目鱼类细胞色素b基因序列中,存在3bp的缺失;(2)系统发育分析显

“Hybrid” hydrogen storage, where hydrogen is stored in both the solid material and as a high pressure gas in the void volume of the tank can improve overall system efficiency by up to 50% compared to either compressed hydrogen or solid materials alone. Thermodynamically, high equilibrium hydrogen pressures in metal–hydrogen systems correspond to low enthalpies of hydrogen absorption–desorption. This decreases the calorimetric effects of the hydride formation–decomposition processes which can assist in achieving high rates of heat exchange during hydrogen loading—removing the bottleneck in achieving low charging times and improving overall hydrogen storage efficiency of large hydrogen stores. Two systems with hydrogenation enthalpies close to −20 kJ/mol H2 were studied to investigate the hydrogenation mechanism and kinetics: CeNi5–D2 and ZrFe2−xAlx (x = 0.02; 0.04; 0.20)–D2. The structure of the intermetallics and their hydrides were studied by in situ neutron powder diffraction at pressures up to 1000 bar and complementary X-ray diffraction. The deuteration of the hexagonal CeNi5 intermetallic resulted in CeNi5D6.3 with a volume expansion of 30.1%. Deuterium absorption filled three different types of interstices, Ce2Ni2 and Ni4 tetrahedra, and Ce2Ni3 half-octahedra and was accompanied by a valence change for Ce. Significant hysteresis was observed between deuterium absorption and desorption which profoundly decreased on a second absorption cycle. For the Al-modified Laves-type C15 ZrFe2−xAlx intermetallics, deuteration showed very fast kinetics of H/D exchange and resulted in a volume increase of the FCC unit cells of 23.5% for ZrFe1.98Al0.02D2.9(1). Deuterium content, hysteresis of H/D uptake and release, unit cell expansion and stability of the hydrides systematically change with the amount of Al content. In the deuteride D atoms exclusively occupy the Zr2(Fe,Al)2 tetrahedra. Observed interatomic distances are Zr–D = 1.98–2.11; (Fe, Al)–D = 1.70–1.75A˚ . Hydrogenation slightly increases the magnetic moment of the Fe atoms in ZrFe1.98Al0.02 and ZrFe1.96Al0.04 from 1.9 �B at room temperature for the alloy to 2.2 �B for its deuteride.

Jacalin and artocarpin, the two lectins from jackfruit (Artocarpus integrifolia) seeds, have different physicochemical properties and carbohydrate-binding specificities. However, comparison of the partial amino-acid sequence of artocarpin with the known sequence of jacalin indicates close to 50% sequence identity. Artocarpin crystallizes in two forms, both monoclinic P2(1), with one and two tetramic molecules, respectively, in the asymmetric units of form I (a = 69.9, b = 73.7, c = 60.6 Angstrom and beta = 95.1 degrees) and form II (a = 87.6, b = 72.2, c = 92.6 Angstrom and beta = 101.1 degrees). Both the crystal structures have been solved by the molecular replacement method using the known structure of jacalin as the search model and ope of them partially refined, confirming that the two lectins are indeed homologous.

BaCu(C2O4)(2) . 6H2O is triclinic, P (1) over bar, with a = 6.5405(9), b = 9.202(3), c = 10.939(1) Angstrom, alpha = 85.46(2), beta = 79.22(1), gamma = 80.45(2), V = 636.99(1) Angstrom(3), Z = 2, D-0 = 2.14, D-c = 2.465 g . cm(-3), R = 0.074, wR = 0.0746 for 2219 significant reflections \F-0\ greater than or equal to 6.0 sigma F-0. The barium has eleven coordinations and the coordination polyhedra is a capped antiprism. Six water oxygen atoms are coordinated whereas the other five are coming from the oxalate group. In the unit cell the molecule's form a polymeric network. One lattice water molecule belongs to the coordinating water. The barium oxygen distances vary from 2.75 Angstrom to 3.15 Angstrom.

We report the origin of room temperature weak ferromagnetic behavior of polycrystalline Pb(Fe2/3W1/3)O-3 (PFW) powder. The structure and magnetic properties of the ceramic powder prepared by a Columbite method were characterized by X-ray and neutron diffraction, Mossbauer spectroscopy and magnetization measurements. Rietveld analysis of diffraction data confirm the formation of single phase PFW, without traces of any parasitic pyrochlore phase. PFW was found to crystallize in the cubic structure at room temperature. The Rietveld refinement of neutron diffraction data measured at room temperature confirmed the G-type antiferromagnetic structure of PFW in our sample. However, along with the antiferromagnetic (AFM) ordering of the Fe spins, we have observed the existence of weak ferromagnetism at room temperature through: (i) a clear opening of hysteresis (M-H) loop, (ii) bifurcation of the field cooled and zero-field cooled susceptibility; supported by Mossbauer spectroscopy results. The P-E loop measurements showed a non-linear slim hysteresis loop at room temperature due to the electronic conduction through the local inhomogeneities in the PFW crystallites and the inter-particle regions. By corroborating all the magnetic measurements, especially the spin glass nature of the sample, with the conduction behavior of the sample, we report here that the observed ferromagnetism originates at these local inhomogeneous regions in the sample, where the Fe-spins are not perfectly aligned antiferromagnetically due to the compositional disordering. Novos protótipos de fármacos estão constantemente a ser sintetizados e muitas estruturas cristalinas de outros ainda são desconhecidas. Tão importante quanto o planejamento e síntese de novos fármacos é a sua caracterização estrutural, uma vez que a sua estrutura (conformação) pode estar diretamente relacionada com a ação terapêutica. O uso da difração de raios X tem sido muito importante na determinação estrutural dos novos compostos sintetizados. Neste trabalho foi feita a determinação da estrutura de LASSBio-1755 com os dados de difração de raios X por policristais. Este composto foi sintetizado no Laboratório de Avaliação e Síntese de Substâncias Bioativas (LASSBio) da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. O composto LASSBio-1755 pertence a uma nova série de compostos cicloalquil-N-acilidrazônicos planejados para o desenvolvimento de protótipos com atividades antinociceptiva e anti-inflamatórios. Este composto cristalizou-se num sistema triclínico com grupo espacial (P ), com parâmetros de cela unitária a = 4,86647(9) Å, b = 9,3108(2) Å, c = 11,3402(2) Å, α = 106,649(1), β = 101,958(1), γ = 82,629(2) e V = 480,30(2) Å3. A estrutura cristalina de LASSBio-1755 consiste em duas fórmulas unitárias por cela unitária (Z = 2), acomodando uma molécula na unidade assimétrica (Z' = 1). O Método de Rietveld foi utilizado para refinar a estrutura cristalina e o indicador de qualidade do ajuste, bem como os fatores R foram, respectivamente: χ2 = 1,131, RBragg = 0,856%, Rwp =4,174% e o Rexp= 3,692%. As técnicas de calorimetria exploratória diferencial, termogravimetria e espectroscopia no infravermelho por transformada de Fourier também foram utilizadas para análise do composto LASSBio-1755 e os seus resultados corroboraram com os obtidos através da técnica de difração de raios X por policristais.

本工作对莲胚芽叶在照光萌发后其叶绿体光合膜结构和功能的发育作了比较系统的研究。主要结果如下: (1)在萌发前的干莲胚芽叶叶绿体中就已存在有巨型基粒结构。经照光萌发后,巨型基粒逐渐松散,类囊体膜之间距离变大。巨型基粒解体。而后重新形成比原来巨型基粒片层少,片层间距较紧密的基粒。它的基质片层是在基粒片层形成基本完成之后开始发育的,即萌发八天之后,莲幼苗叶绿体才形成和其它高等植物成熟叶绿体类似的结构,具有基粒和基质片层的类囊体膜系统。 (2)对萌发后不同时期莲幼苗叶绿体膜多肽SDS-PAGE凝胶电泳分析表明,组成光系统Ⅱ捕光色素蛋白复合体的两个多肽,分子量分别为30 KD和27 KD的多肽含量变化很大。30 KD常会随发育时间的增长而减弱。而27 KD条带则逐渐增强。光系统Ⅱ捕光色素蛋白复合体在干莲胚芽叶叶绿体中以前体的形式存在,经照光萌发一段时间后,该复合体经过多肽含量的变化,叶绿素a、b相对含量的变化等过程,最后发育成熟的光系统Ⅱ捕光色素蛋白复合体。 (3)萌发前及萌发后不同时期对莲叶绿体的低温荧光发射光谱测定结果表明,未经萌发和照光萌发两天的莲叶绿体仅在681mm处有发射峰,而缺少732 nm处的发射峰。萌发到第四天时F732开始出现,并且随发育时间增长逐渐增强。F732/F683值逐渐上升,这说明PSI捕光色素系统的发育较PSⅡ是延后的,而且它的发育必须有可见光照射条件下才能进行。 (4)叶绿素a/b值和吸收光谱测试结果表明,莲胚芽叶在萌发后的发育过程中,其叶绿体叶绿素a/b值由干莲胚芽叶叶绿体的0.9逐渐上升,到萌发十天时接近正常成熟叶绿体的水平,其叶绿体在红光区的吸收峰,叶绿素b相对于叶绿素a逐渐减弱。 (5)干莲胚芽叶萌发过程中,其叶绿体的活体室温荧光动力学测定结果表明,在萌发四天后,Fv开始出现,Fv/Fo值随照光萌发时间增长而逐渐提高。从H2O → DCIP的电子传递速率的测定结果也证明PSⅡ光化学活性的出现和增强过程。 我们的结果表明,干莲胚芽叶叶绿体在萌发后经历了一条和其它高等植物差异很大的发育途径,我们的结果也证实了LHCP与基粒形成有密切联系。

  本实验对三种萝藦科植物通光散(Marsdenia tenacissima)、黑水藤(Biondia insignis Tsiang)和徐长卿(Cynanchum Paniculatum)中的C21甾体化合物进行了研究。从通光散藤茎乙酸乙酯提取物的水解产物中,分离得到两类八个C21甾类甙元。经光谱鉴定,它们的结构分别为11α-O-(2-甲基)-丁酰基-12β-O-顺芷酰通光藤甙元乙(1),11α-O-乙酰基-12β-O-乙酰基通光藤甙元乙(2),11α-O-(2-甲基)-丁酰基-12β-O-乙酰基通光藤甙元乙(3), 11α-O-苯甲酰基-12β-O-乙酰基通光藤甙元乙(4), 11α-O-顺芷酰基-12β-O-乙酰基通光藤甙元乙(5)11α-O-顺芷酰基-12β-O-顺芷酰基通光藤甙元乙(6),12β-O-乙酰基通光藤甙元甲(7)和12β-O-顺芷酰基通光藤甙元甲(8)。其中,化合物2和8为新化合物。从黑水藤乙醇提取物的水解产物中,分离得到了两个C21甾体化合物。经1D、2D NMR技术鉴定,分别为(3β,14β,15β,17β)-3, 14-二羟基-15,16-裂-孕甾-5-烯-15-醛-16-半缩醛-20-酮(1)和白前甙元C(2)。其中1为15,16-裂环的新骨架类型的C21甾体化合物,命名为黑水藤甙元甲。从采购于昆明、浙江、湖南三地药材市场的徐长卿的根及根茎中,分离得到了18个化合物(其中昆明徐长卿6个,浙江徐长卿9个,湖南徐长卿3个)。经光谱数据分析,这些化合物被鉴定为:cynapanoside-C (1), cynapanoside-A (2), 白前甙元B 3-O-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(3),白前甙元C 3-O-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-α-L-2-脱氧洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-夹竹吡喃糖甙(4),白前甙元C3-O-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-α-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖甙(5),白前甙元C 3-O-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-α-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖甙(6),cynatratoside-B (7),cynatratoside-C (8);glaucoside A(9),新白薇甙元B 3-O-β-L-磁嘛吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖甙(10),白前甙元 A 3-O-α-L-磁嘛吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(11),白前甙元 B 3-O-α-L-磁糖基吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(12),白前甙元D 3-O-α-L-磁嘛吡喃糖基(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(13),白前甙元 C 3-O-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-α-L-2-脱氧洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖甙(14),白前甙元 C 3-O-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-葡萄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-α-L-磁嘛吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖甙(15),白前甙元 B 3-O-α-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(16),白前甙元 D 3-O-α-D-夹竹桃吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(17),白前甙元月B 3-O-α-L-磁嘛吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-洋地黄吡喃糖基-(1 → 4)-β-D-磁嘛吡喃糖甙(18)。其中,化合物3-6,10-18为新化合物,10的甙元为一个新甙元,命名为新白薇甙无B。

对10 头原种婆罗门牛mtDNA D2loop 全序列912 bp 测序, 婆罗门牛遗传多样性丰富, 检测到的9 种单 倍型兼有瘤牛( B . indicus) 与普通牛( B . taurus) 的遗传背景, 核苷酸变异率为6125 % , 单倍型多态度为01978 ± 01054 , 核苷酸多态度为01014 30 ±01008 68。所有单倍型聚为明显的两大分支, 婆罗门牛的大部分单倍型为普通 牛单倍型类群, 并占绝对优势(90 %) , 仅Brah26 与亚洲瘤牛聚在一起, 属于亚洲瘤牛线粒体单倍型, 表明婆罗门 牛的确是集亚洲瘤牛、欧洲普通牛等优良特性于一身(易产犊、产肉性能好、耐热与体表寄生虫等) 的瘤牛品种之 一。育种学家引种瘤牛的目的是改善当地牛的生产力与适应性, 现代普通牛表现出明显又普遍的瘤牛渐渗现象。 对现代的瘤牛品种而言, 除亚洲瘤牛品种外, 普通牛对其他瘤牛品种育成的贡献同样高。支持瘤牛( B . indicus ) 为独立驯化、起源于印度次大陆的假说。

贾第虫一度被认为是迄今已知的最原始的真核细胞, 但近来争议日盛。利用PCR 和测序等技术, 对 蓝氏贾第虫( Giardia lamblia) 的核纤层蛋白(lamin) 基因进行了研究。结果表明: 蓝氏贾第虫基因组中存在 一个编码具有明显lamin 特征的基因序列。如该基因序列的3′- 端具有编码与核内膜亲和的特征性模体(motif ) CaaX 的序列; 具有B 型lamin 基因所特有的高度保守的27 bp 片段, 该片段编码高度保守的位于α螺旋杆状区 的9 氨基酸片段等。同时, 这些序列特征又与多细胞的后生动物存在一定差异。这些事实说明在贾第虫中已经 进化产生了典型真核细胞的B 型lamin (基因) 或至少是类似B 型的lamin (基因) , 该生物的进化地位可能并 非过去所认为的那么原始。

斑纹薄鳅(Leptobotia zebra)最初是由Wu(1939)描述的一个新种,当时定名为斑纹沙鳅(Botia zebra),后来Chen(1980)根据眼下刺不分叉将其改归为薄鳅属的物种。本研究通过对线粒体DNA细胞色素b基因序列的测定和分析,发现斑纹薄鳅和薄鳅属(除斑纹薄鳅)物种间的平均遗传距离为0.177,和中华沙鳅属物种美丽沙鳅(Sinibotia pulcher)的平均遗传距离仅为0.057。系统发育分析发现斑纹薄鳅并未和薄鳅属的物种聚在一起,而是和中华沙鳅属物种美丽沙鳅聚在一起形成姐妹群。
