In methyl 4-(5-amino-3-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-3-nitrobenzoate, C17H14N4O4, the molecules are linked into complex sheets by a combination of N-H center dot center dot center dot N, N-H center dot center dot center dot O and C - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds. In the isomeric methyl 3-nitro-4-[(5-phenyl- 1H-pyrazol-3-yl)amino] benzoate, molecules exhibit a polarized molecular-electronic structure and are linked into chains of edge-fused rings by a combination of N-H center dot center dot center dot O and C - H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.

The isotherms of adsorption of CuX2 (X=Cl-, Br-, ClO4-) by silica gel chemically modified with 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole were studied in acetone and ethanol solutions: at 298 K. The following equilibria constants (in 1 mol(-1)) were determined: (a) CuCl2: 3.5 x 10(3) (ac), 2.0 x 10(3) (eth); (b) CuBr2: 2.8 x 10(3) (ac), 2.0 x 10(3) (eth); (c) Cu(ClO4)(2): 1.8 x 10(3) (ac), 1.0 x 10(3) (eth); ac = acetone, eth = ethanol. The electron spin resonance spectra of the surface complexes indicated a tetragonal distorted structure in the case of lower degrees of metal loading on the chemically modified surface. The d-d electronic transition spectra showed that for the ClO4-, complex, the peak of absorption did not change for any degree of metal loading, and for Cl- and Br- complexes, the peak maxima shifted to a higher energy region with a lower metal loading. Novel 2-amino-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylates have been synthesised in high yield by unprecedented ultrasonic and thermally mediated nucleophilic displacement of bromide from ethyl 2-bromo-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate by primary, secondary and aryl amines.

Silica gel with a specific area of 382 m2 g-1 and an average pore diameter of 60 Å was chemically modified with 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole, for the purpose of selective adsorption of heavy metals ions and possible use as a chemically modified carbon paste electrode (CMCPE). The following properties of this functionalized silica gel are discussed: selective adsorption of heavy metal ions measured by batch and chromatographic column techniques, and utilization as preconcentration agent in a chemically modified carbon paste electrode (CMCPE) for determination of mercury(II). The chemical selectivity of this functional group and the selectivity of voltammetry were combined for preconcentration and determination. ©2006 Sociedade Brasileira de Química.

The title compound, C(34)H(24)Cl(4)N(4)O(8)S, is a linear penta-cyclic system formed of two substituted benzoxazinyl groups fused to 2-n-butyl-tetra-hydro-thio-phene. The oxazine ring, which is fused to the n-butyl-substituted side of the thio-phene ring, is in a boat conformation. The other fused oxazine ring and the tetra-hydro-thiene ring are each in an envelope conformation. The bridgehead C atom alpha to both the S and N atoms forms the flap of each envelope. This results in a twist of the penta-cyclic system such that the dihedral angle between the terminal dichloro-benzene rings is 82.92 (8)°. In the crystal, inversion-related mol-ecules form a weakly hydrogen-bonded dimer, with two C-H⋯O inter-actions between an H atom on the oxazine ring and an amide O atom. Additionally, C-H⋯O inter-actions occur between an H atom on a screw-related nitro-benzene ring and an O atom on the nitro-benzene ring of one mol-ecule. One of the Cl atoms and the butyl group are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancy ratios of 0.94 (2):0.06 (2) and 0.624 (4):0.376 (4), respectively.

Este Proyecto se enmarca en el conjunto de actuaciones necesarias para desarrollar por completo la denominada Autovía de circunvalación M-55,que conecta la A-1, A-6 y A-5, y que contribuye a mejorar la capacidad de los corredores que comunican la ciudad de Madrid con los municipios metropolitanos comprendidos entre la A-1, A-6 y A-5, y también a estos municipios entre sí. El área de estudio se encuentra ubicada en la Comunidad de Madrid,incluyendo los municipios de Las Rozas de Madrid y Villanueva del Pardillo. El tramo discurre por una zona protegida medioambientalmente como es el LIC “Cuenca del río Guadarrama” y próximo a los núcleos de población de Las Roza de Madrid y Villanueva del Pardillo. Por ello, se ha buscado optimizar el trazado minimizando las afecciones a edificaciones y al espacio protegido medioambientalmente por la Red Natura 2000.

Two BDF-based organic sensitizers, as first examples for their use in dye-sensitized solar cells, are prepared and characterized. They yield promising power conversion efficiencies of up to 5.5 and high open circuit voltages up to 0.82 V. This work demonstrates that the BDF chromophore acts as an effective donor in organic sensitizers.

We investigated roles of different forms of cytochrome P450 (P450 or CYP) in the metabolic activation of heterocyclic amines (HCAs) and other procarcinogens to genotoxic metabolite(s) in the newly developed umu tester strains Salmonella typhimurium (S. typhimurium) OY1002/1A1, OY1002/1A2, OY1002/1B1, OY1002/2C9, OY1002/2D6, OY1002/2E1 and OY 1002/3A4. which express respective human P450 enzymes and NADPH-cytochrome P350 reductase (reductase) and bacterial O-acetyltransferase (O-AT). These strains were established by introducing two plasmids into S. typhimurium TA 1535, one carrying both P450 and the reductase cDNA in a bicistronic construct under control of an IPTG-inducible double me promoter and the other, pOA 102, carrying O-AT and umuClacZ fusion genes. Expression levels of CYP were found to range between 35 to 550 nmol/l cell culture in the strains tested. O-AT activities in different strains ranged from 52 to 135 nmol isoniazid acetylated/min/mg protein. All HCAs tested, and 2-aminoanthracene and 2-aminofluorene exhibited high genotoxicity in the OY1002/1A2 strain, and genotoxicity of 2-amino-3-methylimidazo [4,5-f]quinoline was detected in both the OY1002/1A1 and OY1002/1A2 strains. 1-Amino-1,4-dimethyl-5H-pyrido[4.3-b]-indole and 3-amino-1-methyl-5H-pyrido[4,3-b]-indole were activated in the OY1002/1A1, OY1002/1B1, OY1002/1A2, and OY1002/3A4 strains. Aflatoxin B-1 exhibited genotoxicity in the OY1002/1A2, OY1002/1A1, and OY1002/3A4 strains. beta -Naphthylamine and benzo[a]pyrene did not exhibit genotoxicity in any of the strains. These results suggest that CYP1A2 is the major cytochrom P450 enzyme involved in bioactivation of HCAs. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
