Teoria dos Grafos

A videoaula conceitua a teoria dos grafos, que oferece a base de estruturas de representação para diversos problemas como listas, árvores, pilhas, filas, e outras. Destaca também a adjacência, laços e arestas múltiplas, o grau de um vértice, a notação, os subgrafos, os grafos isomorfos, o passeio e caminho, e, por fim, os grafos cíclicos e acíclicos.

Padrões de aleatoriedade na modelação do acaso

A soma de variáveis aleatórias com número de parcelas é aleatório, para além do evidente interesse conceptual e teórico, tem larga ressonância na investigação do processo de risco e em processos de ramificação. Reformulamos a teoria de Panjer (1981), que permite o cálculo iterativo do risco agregado, com o recurso a valores médios de uniformes, descrevendo uma extensão da classe de Panjer, e estudando em detalhe a equação funcional que a caracteriza. Aplicamos essas ideias na caracterização de aleatoriedade discreta, exemplificando com o comportamento das fêmeas de pássaros que investem na promiscuidade de parceiros para garantir a diversidade genética da progénie, tendo no entanto o cuidado de manter as aparências de fidelidade, para garantir a cooperação do parceiro no sucesso da ninhada. Apresentamos as transformadas de Laplace e funções geradoras numa perspectiva que leva a uma introdção natural de transformadas de Pareto, cuja relevância exemplificamos.

De uma análise de um problema de combinatória aos quadrados Mágicos

Os quadrados mágicos, de um modo geral, são abordados como uma poderosa ferramenta pedagógica capaz de despertar e aprimorar o raciocínio lógico. São inúmeros os projectos que objectivam a realização de actividades lúdicas capazes de aprimorar capacidades humanas como o raciocínio lógico. Segundo [Leo05], na Alemanha, os quadrados mágicos chegam a ser referência nos manuais das escolas primárias. Contrariamente à maioria dos trabalhos em quadrados mágicos, a grande preocupação presente neste não foi propriamente explorar a potencialidade dos quadrados mágicos como utensílio dogmático no desenvolvimento de raciocínios. Neste trabalho a nossa atenção incidiu na resolução de um problema de combinatória proposto por Henry Dudeney, mais concretamente o “Enigma do Monge”. Foi desenvolvida uma estratégia própria para solucionar o respectivo enigma. Foram ainda analisadas outras questões inerentes ao mesmo problema. Verificámos ainda que as relações de simetria desempenham um papel preponderante, no sentido em que o seu conhecimento facilitou a resolução do problema. Contudo, e contrariamente ao que prevíamos, verificou-se que este problema estava fortemente relacionado com os quadrados mágicos. Mais, existem propriedades verificadas no enigma que são determinantes na construção de quadrados mágicos de ordem 3.

GRAFOS coloração, planaridade e "Matching"

A matemÆtica discreta Ø um dos ramos mais antigos da matemÆtica. Nos tempos mais recentes sofreu grandes avanos em especial na teoria dos grafos, a qual tornou-se numa poderosa ferramenta de anÆlise para entender e dar soluªo a vÆrios tipos de problemas complexos. O objectivo deste trabalho Ø contribuir para a obtenªo de possveis relaıes entre assuntos que partida poderamos pensar que sªo dspares (quando na realidade nªo o sªo), como coloraªo, planaridade e a existŒncia de matching em grafos. Esta dissertaªo Ø um trabalho de natureza reexiva, sobre a teoria dos grafos onde a ideia principal passa por questionarmos e discutirmos alguns temas pertinentes, deniıes e teoremas relacionando sempre com a planaridade dos grafos. DesenvolveremosumraciocnioecriaremosargumentosquefundamentemaexistŒncia de uma relaªo entre este tema e a coloraªo de grafos e a existŒncia de matching em grafos, utilizando exemplos e estabelecendo relaıes de causa e consequŒncia, deduzindo assim as respetivas conclusıes. Por vezes, os grafos nªo planares podem conter um aspeto visual um pouco complexo, devido aos vÆrios cruzamentos entre as suas arestas, originando assim um certo desencorajamento em utilizÆ-los como ferramenta para a soluªo de vÆrios problemas, quer sejam bÆsicos do quotidiano, ou mais complexos das mais vastas Æreas ligadas investigaªo. Um dos propsitos deste trabalho passa por desmisticar esta ideia e provar que existem muitas deniıes, propriedades, teoremas e algoritmos que podem ser aplicados em qualquer tipo de grafos, independentement da sua planaridade.

Ciência, determinação e arte: os quadrados mágicos e a composição

Serão analisados aspectos históricos e estruturais dos quadrados mágicos e apresentados os materiais resultantes dessa investigação para efeito da composição de uma obra para coro, solistas e orquestra, a Paixão . O quadrado mágico, um dispositivo de características de construção matemáticas, adquiriu contornos místicos ao longo da história, por suas propriedades de simetria e beleza. O processo criativo dentro de uma perspectiva determinística, procura analisar o papel de estruturas pré-estabelecidas para a obtenção de materiais destinados a integrar o repertório de elementos pré-composicionais.

Análise da sobre-reação e sub-reação nos ativos de primeira e segunda lina do mercado acionário brasileiro

The Behavioral Finance develop as it is perceived anomalies in these markets efficient. This fields of study can be grouped into three major groups: heuristic bias, tying the shape and inefficient markets. The present study focuses on issues concerning the heuristics of representativeness and anchoring. This study aimed to identify the then under-reaction and over-reaction, as well as the existence of symmetry in the active first and second line of the Brazilian stock market. For this, it will be use the Fuzzy Logic and the indicators that classify groups studied from the Discriminant Analysis. The highest present, indicator in the period studied, was the Liabilities / Equity, demonstrating the importance of the moment to discriminate the assets to be considered "winners" and "losers." Note that in the MLCX biases over-reaction is concentrated in the period of financial crisis, and in the remaining periods of statistically significant biases, are obtained by sub-reactions. The latter would be in times of moderate levels of uncertainty. In the Small Caps the behavioral responses in 2005 and 2007 occur in reverse to those observed in the Mid-Large Cap. Now in times of crisis would have a marked conservatism while near the end of trading on the Bovespa speaker, accompanied by an increase of negotiations, there is an overreaction by investors. The other heuristics in SMLL occurred at the end of the period studied, this being a under-reaction and the other a over-reaction and the second occurring in a period of financial-economic more positive than the first. As regards the under / over-reactivity in both types, there is detected a predominance of either, which probably be different in the context in MLCX without crisis. For the period in which such phenomena occur in a statistically significant to note that, in most cases, such phenomena occur during the periods for MLCX while in SMLL not only biases are less present as there is no concentration of these at any time . Given the above, it is believed that while detecting the presence of bias behavior at certain times, these do not tend to appear to a specific type or heuristics and while there were some indications of a seasonal pattern in Mid- Large Caps, the same behavior does not seem to be repeated in Small Caps. The tests would then suggest that momentary failures in the Efficient Market Hypothesis when tested in semistrong form as stated by Behavioral Finance. This result confirms the theory by stating that not only rationality, but also human irrationality, is limited because it would act rationally in many circumstances

Síntese, estudo cinético e análise microestrutural do sistema cério-níquel obtido pelo método pechini

The cerium oxide has a high potential for use in removing pollutants after combustion, removal of organic matter in waste water and the fuel-cell technology. The nickel oxide is an attractive material due to its excellent chemical stability and their optical properties, electrical and magnetic. In this work, CeO2-NiO- systems on molars reasons 1:1(I), 1:2(II) e 1:3(III) metal-citric acid were synthesized using the Pechini method. We used techniques of TG / DTG and ATD to monitor the degradation process of organic matter to the formation of the oxide. By thermogravimetric analysis and applying the dynamic method proposed by Coats-Redfern, it was possible to study the reactions of thermal decomposition in order to propose the possible mechanism by which the reaction takes place, as well as the determination of kinetic parameters as activation energy, Ea, pre-exponential factor and parameters of activation. It was observed that both variables exert a significant influence on the formation of complex polymeric precursor. The model that best fitted the experimental data in the dynamic mode was R3, which consists of nuclear growth, which formed the nuclei grow to a continuous reaction interface, it proposes a spherical symmetry (order 2 / 3). The values of enthalpy of activation of the system showed that the reaction in the state of transition is exothermic. The variables of composition, together with the variable temperature of calcination were studied by different techniques such as XRD, IV and SEM. Also a study was conducted microstructure by the Rietveld method, the calculation routine was developed to run the package program FullProf Suite, and analyzed by pseudo-Voigt function. It was found that the molar ratio of variable metal-citric acid in the system CeO2-NiO (I), (II), (III) has strong influence on the microstructural properties, size of crystallites and microstrain network, and can be used to control these properties

Processamento Inteligente de Sinais de Pressão e Temperatura Adquiridos Através de Sensores Permanentes em Poços de Petróleo

Originally aimed at operational objectives, the continuous measurement of well bottomhole pressure and temperature, recorded by permanent downhole gauges (PDG), finds vast applicability in reservoir management. It contributes for the monitoring of well performance and makes it possible to estimate reservoir parameters on the long term. However, notwithstanding its unquestionable value, data from PDG is characterized by a large noise content. Moreover, the presence of outliers within valid signal measurements seems to be a major problem as well. In this work, the initial treatment of PDG signals is addressed, based on curve smoothing, self-organizing maps and the discrete wavelet transform. Additionally, a system based on the coupling of fuzzy clustering with feed-forward neural networks is proposed for transient detection. The obtained results were considered quite satisfactory for offshore wells and matched real requisites for utilization

Efeitos do potencial probiótico Enterococcus faecium 32 e de sua associação com o extrato da alga marinha Caulerpa mexicana no tratamento de colite experimental murina

Ulcerative colitis comprising an inflammatory bowel disease, whose most severe consequence is the development of intestinal neoplasia. The drugs currently used to treat the disease trigger a variety of serious adverse effects and are not effective in many cases. Recent studies demonstrated the effectiveness of natural products for the treatment of inflammatory processes. Seaweed extracts and their purified products have shown protective effects in models of inflammation and the association of traditional therapies with probiotics has significantly improved the clinical symptoms of ulcerative colitis. Therefore, the aims of this study include evaluating the potential effects of the use of probiotic strain Enterococcus faecium 32 (Ef32), the methanolic extract of the green seaweed Caulerpa mexicana (M.E.) and their concomitant administration in a murine model of colitis induced by dextran sodium sulfate (DSS). Accordingly, C57BL /6 mice were pretreated orally with Ef32 (109 CFU/ml) for seven days. In the seven days following, the colitis was induced by administration of 3% DSS (w/v) diluted in the animals drinking water. During this period, animals were treated daily with Ef32 and the M.E. (2.0 mg/kg) every other day by intravenous route. The development of colitis was monitored by the disease activity index (DAI), which takes into account the loss of body weight, consistency and presence of blood in stools. After euthanasia, the colon was removed, its length measured and tissue samples were destined for histological analysis and culture for cytokine quantification. The levels of cytokines in the culture supernatant of the colon were measured by ELISA. The treatments with the probiotic Ef32 or the M.E. alone or the combination of these two substances provoked significant improvement as to weight loss and DAI, and prevented the shortening of the colon in response to DSS. The isolated treatments triggered a slight improvement in intestinal mucosal tissue damage. However, their combination was able to completely repair the injury triggered by DSS. The association was also able to reduce the levels of all the cytokines analyzed (IFN-γ, IL-4, IL-6, IL-12, IL-17A and TNF-α). On the other hand, the treatment with Ef32 did not interfere with the levels of TNF-α, whereas treatment with M.E. did not alter the levels of IL-6. Moreover, the treatment with Ef32 not interferes in TNF-α levels, whereas treatment with M.E. did not alter the levels of IL-6. Therefore, the potential probiotic Ef32 and M.E. and especially when these samples were associated proved promising alternatives in the treatment of ulcerative colitis as demonstrated in an experimental model because of its beneficial effects on morphological and clinical parameters, and by reducing the production of proinflammatory cytokines of Th1, Th2 and Th17

Efeitos do alcalóide indólico caulerpina, obtido de alga do gênero caulerpa, em modelo de colite experimental murina

As doenças inflamatórias intestinais são enfermidades onde a tolerância e homeostase da resposta inflamatória estão comprometidas, gerando lesões teciduais e favorecendo o surgimento de neoplasias. Há dois importantes exemplos de doenças inflamatórias intestinais, a colite ulcerativa, foco do modelo desse estudo, e a doença de Crohn. Os medicamentos utilizados no tratamento dessas doenças desencadeiam diversos efeitos adversos; além disso, em alguns pacientes, eles não são eficazes. Os extratos de algas têm demonstrado várias atividades biológicas, entre elas a atividade anti-inflamatória. Os extratos das algas do gênero Caulerpa foram utilizados em vários estudos, onde modelos inflamatórios foram analisados, entre eles o modelo de colite ulcerativa. A utilização do extrato metanólico da C. mexicana como terapêutica nesse modelo atenuou o quadro clinico desenvolvido pelos animais. Sendo assim, o presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a ação terapêutica da Caulerpina (CLP), extraída da C. racemosa, no modelo murino de colite ulcerativa. Camundongos C57BL/6 machos foram expostos a uma solução de Dextrana Sulfato de Sódio (DSS) a 3% por sete dias. A partir do primeiro dia de exposição ao DSS os animais foram tratados em dias alternados com a CLP nas doses de 4 e 40 mg/kg e com a dexametasona (3 mg/kg) por via oral. O desenvolvimento da doença foi analisado através do índice de atividade da doença (IAD), que leva em consideração a perda de peso corporal, a consistência e a presença de sangue nas fezes. Após a eutanásia, o cólon foi removido e mensurado, e amostras do tecido colônico foram destinadas a análise histológica e à cultura para dosagem de citocinas. Os níveis de citocinas no sobrenadante da cultura do cólon foram mensurados por ELISA. O tratamento com a CLP (4 mg/kg) desencadeou significativa melhora quanto à perda de peso corporal e ao IAD, e atenuou o encurtamento do cólon em resposta ao DSS. Tal dose foi capaz de reduzir os níveis de citocinas pró-inflamatórias analisadas (TNF-, IFN-, IL-6, IL-17), mas não teve efeito significativo nas citocinas anti-inflamatórias IL-10 e TGF-. O tratamento com a CLP (40 mg/kg) não foi eficaz quanto a perda de peso e ao IAD, além de não ter atenuado a redução do cólon em resposta ao DSS. Essa dose conseguiu reduzir os níveis das citocinas pró-inflamatórias, porém não os níveis de IL-6. O tratamento com a dexametasona obteve melhora discreta quanto à perda de peso corporal e ao IAD, porém não atenuou a redução do cólon em resposta ao DSS. Esse tratamento também conseguiu reduzir todas as citocinas pró-inflamatórias testadas. Deste modo a CLP (4 mg/kg) demonstrou ser uma alternativa promissora no tratamento da colite ulcerativa, em razão dos seus efeitos benéficos sobre parâmetros clínicos, morfológicos e moleculares do modelo em estudo

Lévi-Strauss Mitológicas: Mito e música entre o largo e o prestíssimo

This study was elaborated based on our research of the work Mithologiques by the anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss (1908-2009), which affirms that languages, indigenous myths and music are related. He proposes that the understanding of myths occurs in a similar manner as with an orchestral score. In the course of his tetralogy we investigated the musical terms used in the analysis and in the division of the chapters, especially in the first volume of his work. Several compositional procedures and forms are named. Composers in pairs are categorized: Sebastian Bach for the code, Ludwig van Beethoven for the message, and Richard Wagner for the myths. In this deduction, we structured in parts: theme and variations, sonata and fugue with the aforementioned composers. Within the greatness of anthropological study, from among over 800 myths, we selected the first five of the indigenous tribe Bororo to discuss within the Theme and Variation segment. In the Sonata part there are two myths with the same theme: The wife of the jaguar which relates to the compositional structure, and four myths about The origin of women. Finally, in the segment related to the Fugue, we collected four myths that address The shortness of life. Honoring the many terms expressed in opposition, contrast, or symmetry under consideration in Levi-Strauss work, we entitled this thesis emphasizing the migration between the tempos Largo and Prestíssimo as these are oppositional presentations in music. Fifteen musical myths accompany the work supported by selected narratives. In light of this we questioned, we questioned: how are incest, murder and other events part of a society that elevates nature as an extension of life itself? Limbal autograft transplantation in a dog with alkali-induced ulceration

Descreve-se um caso de um animal da espécie canina, fêmea, sem raça definida, de três meses de idade, com histórico de apatia, contato prévio com produto alcalino (hidróxido de sódio) e relutância em abrir o olho direito. Ao exame oftálmico, foram observados blefarospasmo, fotofobia, epífora, quemose discreta, hiperemia conjuntival, e edema corneal difuso com comprometimento do limbo. Foram realizados o teste da fluoresceína positivo e o Teste Lacrimal de Schirmer 32mm min-1. Com base nos achados, firmou-se o diagnóstico de úlcera por álcali e realizou-se transplante autógeno do limbo. No pós-operatório, observou-se vascularização corneal a partir do terceiro dia e sua intensificação, em número e calibre, nos dias subseqüentes. Também foram observadas mínimas áreas de transparência corneal. Os resultados obtidos permitem admitir que o transplante autógeno de limbo é procedimento factível para o manejo da terapia de úlceras de córnea por álcali.
