A DNA Codification for Genetic Algorithms Simulation

In this paper we propose a model of encoding data into DNA strands so that this data can be used in the simulation of a genetic algorithm based on molecular operations. DNA computing is an impressive computational model that needs algorithms to work properly and efficiently. The first problem when trying to apply an algorithm in DNA computing must be how to codify the data that the algorithm will use. In a genetic algorithm the first objective must be to codify the genes, which are the main data. A concrete encoding of the genes in a single DNA strand is presented and we discuss what this codification is suitable for. Previous work on DNA coding defined bond-free languages which several properties assuring the stability of any DNA word of such a language. We prove that a bond-free language is necessary but not sufficient to codify a gene giving the correct codification.

Inclusão de estudantes com deficiência no Instituto Federal da Paraíba a partir da ação TEC NEP

The current research developed in the Federal Institute of Paraíba – IFPB, João Pessoa Câmpus, aimed at analyzing the inclusion of students with disabilities in undergraduate courses based on the TEC NEP Action. It departs from the discussion about professional and special education in an inclusive perspective, focusing on people with disabilities, in the social context of these two modalities of education, considering the world scenario and the current Brazilian educational policy. It discusses the TEC NEP Action within the national and local context through the analysis of the official documents with the objective of getting familiarized and evaluating the process of educational inclusion in the IFPB João Pessoa Câmpus. The theoretical reference used contributed to the analysis of the policy which focused on inclusion in federal undergraduate institutions for professional education. The methodology used presents a qualitative analysis, having as subject of the research students with disabilities from undergraduate courses in the IFPB João Pessoa Câmpus who are supported by NAPNE. The results based on the analyzed data show that volunteer students from this research evaluate their process of inclusion in the appointed institution as positive, in spite of challenges specially the ones related to architectural barriers. It is concluded that the foundation of the House for Supporting People with Special Education Needs – (NAPNE) through the TEC NEP Action had crucial importance in the basis for the discussion about inclusion in the institution, widening the vision towards the demands of students with disabilities in order to facilitate access, permanence and academic success of these students.

Entretenimientos, fiestas, juegos y placeres en la corte de los reyes de Aragón en el siglo xiv Steffano

Este trabajo estudia la presencia e importancia de las diversiones y el placer en distintos momentos de la vida de la corte de los reyes de Aragón: las prostitutas, dirigidas por el rey Arlot, la música, el juego, el baile o los juglares, observando el aumento de su presencia a lo largo del siglo xiv, con el correlativo aumento de los gastos. También se observa el incremento en el lujo y la complejidad de estas actividades y la siempre mayor presencia de elementos espectaculares como bestias, carros, figuras alegóricas y otros entremeses en coronaciones, bodas o entradas reales, todos ellos aspectos de la progresiva glorificación de la monarquía.

Uma experiência de ensino integrado dos fundamentos matemáticos da ciência da computação

Este trabalho tem por objetivo relatar os resultados preliminares de uma experiência de integração curricular, em andamento na Escola de Informática da UCPel, na área de fundamentos matemáticos da Ciência da Computação. A concepção curricular da experiência está baseada nas idéias de Basil Bernstein sobre currículos de coleção e/ou integração, na idéia de desenvolvimento autônomo do aluno e na organização do ensino em forma semi-presencial (com apoio da Internet) e cooperativa (com apoio de softwares matemáticos).
