Two new species of Crawfordia Pierce from South America, (Strepsiptera: Stylopidae)

Several stylopized specimens were found among the Hymenoptera collection of the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil). A paper by Kogan & Oliveira (1966) described the parasites of Polybia represented among those specimens. I describe herein the first neotropical species of the genus Crawfordia parasitizing species of Psaenithia (Andrenidae, Panurgini). The presence of vestigial thoracic segmentation of the female cephalothorax is a peculiar trait of this genus of Strepsiptera. Triungulinids are described in detail for the first time in this genus.

Two new species of Euphumosia from Papua New Guinea (Diptera: Calliphoridae)

Two new species of the calliphorid blow flies are described from Papua New Guinea under the names of Euphumosia lopesi and E. robertsi. Body coloration and mesonotal pattern are characteristic and differ from those of the closely allied species, E. evittata Togerson & James, 1967.

A new species of Boettcheria (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) from the Dominican Republic

Boettcheria solo sp. n. from the Dominican Republic is described and it is argued that its most probable sister group is B. parkeri Aldrich, 1916 from Jamaica. Boettcheria Parker, 1914 is briefly diagnosed and a list of included species is provided.

New synonymy and new species in neotropical chloropidae (Diptera)

An ephydrid, Hyadina porteri Brèthes, 1919, is found to be a senior synonym of Hippelates australis Sabrosky, 1955. New combination: Liohippelates porteri (Brèthes). Two new species, Pseudogaurax souzalopesi from Peru and P. silbergliedi from Panama are described and placed in the synopsis by Sabrosky (1966).

A new species of Johnstonimyia Lopes from Vanuatu (New Hebrides) (Diptera, Sarcophagidae)

A new species of the genus Johnstonimyia Lopes, namely J. lopesi, is described and illustrated.

A new species of Amphisbaena from the state of Amazonas, Brasil (Reptilia, Amphisbaenia, Amphisbaenidae)

Amphisbaena hugoi, sp. n., from the site of the Balbina hydroelectric dam, in the state of Amazonas (01º53'S, 59º28'W), is sufficiently characterized by having (one specimen known): 4 preanal pores; 225 body annuli; 36 tail annuli, with autotomy constriction on the 13th annulus, 16 dorsal and 18 ventral segments to a midbody annulus; body color patter a brown back and a white belly, clearly demarcated, anteriorly at the level of the lateral sulcus, posteriorly one and then two scales below it, with a thin light line on the lateral sulcus, a white cap on the head, dorsally extending onto the neck; autotomy annulus ventrally brown-colored.

Descriptions of three new species of Muscidae in China (Diptera: Muscidae)

Three new species of Muscida - Caricea acerca, Phaonia yinggeensis and Helina capaciflava - from China are described.

A new species of whipworm from a south american hystricomorph rodent

A new species of whipworm, Trichuris robusti, is described from the cecum and large intestine of rodent, Ctnomys robusti, collected in northern Chile. The nematode shows close affinityto T. bradleyi and T. chilensis, both having been described from Chile but because of the possession of ceertain specific morphological chareacters, particularly the disposition of the proximal cloacal tube, could not be assigned to either of them. A key is presented to some of the Trichuris species reported from hystricomorph rodents in Chile and the biographical significance of speciation of chilean trichurids is discussed.

Sinopiella rotunda n. sp. from Brasília, DF, Brazil, is described.

Some new species of Caryospora (Apicomplexa: Eimeriidae) from brazilian snakes, and a re-description of C. jararacae Carini, 1939

The mature ooxysts of six new species of Caryospora are described from the faeces of Brazilian snakes. They are differentiated from other species previously recorded from reptiles, largely on the size and shape of the oocyst and sporocyst, structure of the oocyst wall, and presence or absence of a polar body. C. paraensis n. sp., and C. carajasensis n. sp., are from the "false coral", Oxyrhopus petola digitalis; C. pseustesi n. sp., from the "egg-eater", Pseustes sulphureus sulphureus; C. epicratesi n. sp., from the "red boa", Epicrates cenchria cenchria; and C. micruri n. sp., and C. constancieae n. sp., from the "coral snake", Micrurus spixii spixii. A re-description is given of C. jararacae Carini, 1939, from the "jararaca" Bothrops atrox, embodying some additional morphological features.

Some monogenoidea parasitic on peruvian marine fishes, with description of Anoplocotyloides chorrillensis new species and new records

The presence of four Monogenoidea parasitic on marine fishes from the central Peruvian coast is recorded. One of them, Anoplocotyloides chorrillensis (Monocotylidae) described from the gills of Rhinobatos planiceps (Rhinobatidae) is considered a new species. The three other species are: Caballerocotyla autralis Oliva, 1986 (Capsalidae); Callorhynchocotyle marplatensis Suriano & Incorvaia, 1982 (Hexabothriidae) and Anoplocotyloides papillatus (Doran, 1953) (Monocotylidae) parasitic on Sarda chiliensis chiliensis (Scombridae), Callorhinchus callorhinchus (Callorhinchidae) and Rhinobatos planiceps (Rhinobatidae) respectively.

A new species of Limnoderetrema (Trematoda, Digenea) from the freshwater Atherinid fish Basilichthys australis Eigenmann, 1927 from the south of Chile

Limnoderetrema tolosai sp. n. (Trematoda, Digenea) within an autochthonous freshwater fish, the silverside Basilichthys autralis Eigenmann, 1927, from Lakes Riñihue and Ranco in Southern Chile is described. The species is distinguished from Limnoderetrema minutum (Manter, 1954) by the presence of one spine in the cirrus and cecal bifurcation nearer to ventral sucker than to pharinx. It is proposed Limnoderetrema macrophallus (Szidat & Nani, 1951) n. comb. (originally Steganoderma). Limnoderetrema tolosai differs from L. macrophallus since it cirrus has a distal spine and by its vitelline follicles distribution. It seems that Limnoderetrema spp. of South America are highly specific unlike L. minutum of New Zealand.

Wyeomyia staminifera, a new species of mosquito from Brazil (Diptera: Culicidae)

Wyeomia staminifera n. sp. is described from specimens collected into the forest of the Amazon and Southeast Regions of Brazil. The description includes illustrations of female and male genitalias and chaetotaxy of pupa and larva. Wy. staminifera is closely related to Wy. aporonoma, but they are distinguishable in all stages.

A new species of Cullex (Melanoconion) from the Amazonian Region (Diptera: Culicidae)

Culex (Melanoconion) eknomios, a new species from Amazonian region is described, including the adult, pupal and larval stages. Available data about distribution and binomics are presented.

Two new species in the genus Cucullanus (Nematoda - Cucullanidae) from the australian region

Two new species of Cucullanus are described: C. bourdini n. sp. and C. laurotravassosi n. sp. C. bourdini is a parasite of Pristipomoides filamentosus , Aprion virescens and P. flavipinnis (Lutjanidae) in New Caledonia. The species is closely related to C. amadai, C. bulbosus and C. hians by the disposition of the post-and ad-cloacal papille but differs by the more posterior position of the deirids. C. laurotravassosi n. sp., a parasite of Arius sp. in Australia, is close to C. bagre but can be distinguished by the more posterior position of post-cloacal papillae.
