Um Modelo de Inovação Bottom Up: Museu de Favela

This article aims to present, describe and discuss the innovation model of the first territorial open-air museum, designed in a favela in Rio de Janeiro, the Favela Museum (MUF). The concepts of slums, traditional museum and ecomuseums differentials are introduced in order to contextualize the universe MUF is inserted. Moreover, the paper discusses the concept of territorial open-air museum collection and how curatorship takes place this context, as well as the possible forms of interaction with the diversity of individuals served by a museum such as MUF. Furthermore, the role of this new museum typology in society is discussed, entities created by bottom up innovation initiative undertaken by MUF into the new museology of action. It concludes with considerations about the shift of focus on the role played by MUF as agent of social and cultural development.

Museu e suas tipologias: o webmuseu em destaque

The rapid development of Information and Communication Technologies - TIC, coupled with the advancement of the global Internet computer network have framed new concepts and definitions such as virtual reality, immersive environments, webmuseums, digital museums, electronic art, cyber art, among other terminologies that are becoming more and more common and are present in everyday Web users. To better understand the terminologies used to describe museum in the virtual environment, we present a summarized table of terms such as webmuseum, virtual museum, digital museum and their derivatives in order to define the elements that differentiate or resemble them. We used the bibliographic descriptive method for identifying the concepts presented by some expert authors in the field. In conclusion, we recommend the use of the term webmuseum for museums in cyberspace as the most appropriate and we define the concept, comprehending its meaning and characteristics.

The jewels, be they used as decorations or some other specific function, are carriers of meaning, representatives of groups, peoples, territories or historical moments. In preliminary studies on the history of Brazilian jewelry, and the recent ascendancy of Brazil in the jewelry market, this research seeks to delve into the history of the production of religious jewelry from São Paulo in the Brazilian colonial period, through the collection of the São Paulo Museum of Sacred Art. This study aims to analyze the museum's collection of jewelry, in two respects: the pieces of jewelry and its pictorial representation in works of art.

Uma arquitetura de memória: Museu e Arquivo Histórico Municipal de Presidente Prudente

O antigo edifício do Matadouro Municipal, aparece no cenário do município de Presidente Prudente como um importante elemento do imaginário social urbano e de forte valor arquitetônico e histórico. A catalogue of the types of Asiloidea (Diptera) in the collection of the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil (Part 1: Bombyliidae and Mydidae)

A catalogue of the type-specimens of Bombyliidae and Mydidae (Diptera) held in the collection of the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de Sao Paulo (MZUSP) is provided, with information on 109 type specimens of 34 Neotropical (mostly Brazilian) species of the families Bombyliidae and Mydidae.

Morphological observations of ampullae of lorenzini in Squatina guggenheim and S. occulta (chondrichthyes, elasmobranchii, squatinidae)

We have conducted a morphological study of the ampullae of Lorenzini on two shark species from Squatina Genus. In both species, S. guggenheim and S. occulta, the ampullae were observed like small pores scattered in the head region similar to other species of the Chondrichthyes Class. However, differently of the other species a greatest density of ampullae of Lorenzini was observed along of the body surface. After fixation using 10% formaldehyde, the ampullae were removed and processed for light and scanning electron microscopy. Macroscopically, the two shark species differed by the presence of dorsal spines that appeared from the head to the first dorsal fin in S. guggenheim and were absent in S. occulta. Microscopically, there were no differences between the ampullae of Lorenzini channels in these two species. The wall of the ampulla was formed by a simple squamous epithelium. Bands of connective tissue, hyaline cartilage and collagen fibers were found between the ampulla and the skeletal striated muscle layer. Nerve branches responsible for conducting signal pulses to the central nervous system were visible between the muscle and connective tissue layers. Using scanning electron microscopy and histological analysis, we found that the channels were twisted and positioned parallel to the skin. The inside of the channels contained a large amount of a gelatinous secretion composed by polysaccharides. Therefore, we conclude that the morphological combination of extended distribution of the ampullae of Lorenzini and the body shape may represent an adaptation of these species to their way of life.
