Contabilidade do crescimento pelo lado da demanda agregada: uma proposta de cálculo das contribuições ao crescimento pela demanda agregada para o Brasil de, 2000 a 2009, utilizando matrizes insumo-produto

The demand side growth accounting studies the demand aggregate component contributions in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Traditionally, international and national organizations that uses the traditional method for calculating such contributions. However, this method does not take into account the effect the induction of imports by the various components of aggregate demand on the calculation of these. As an alternative to this method are presented others studies that consider this effect, as the alternative method proposed by Lara (2013), the attribution method, proposed by Kranendonk and Verbruggen (2005) and Hoekstra and van der Helm (2010), and the method the sraffian supermultiplier, by Freitas and Dweck (2013). Was made a summary of these methods, demonstrating the similarities and differences between them. Also, in the aim to contribute to the study of the subject was developed the “method of distribution of imports” that aims to distribute imports for the various components of aggregate demand, through the information set forth in the input-output matrices and tables of resources and uses. Were accounted the contributions to the growth of macroeconomic aggregates for Brazil from 2001 to 2009 using the method of distribution, and realized comparison with the traditional method, understanding the reasons for the differences in contributions. Later was done comparisons with all the methods presented in this work, between the calculated contributions to the growth of the components of aggregate demand and the domestic and external sectors. Was verified that the methods that exist in the literature was not enough to deal with this question, and given the alternatives for contributions to the growth presented throughout this work, it is believed that the method of distribution provides the best estimates for the account of contributions by aggregate demand sector. In particular, the main advantage of this method to the others is the breakdown of the contribution of imports, separated by aggregate demand component, which allows the analysis of contribution of each component to GDP growth. Thus, this type of analysis helps to study the pattern of growth of the Brazilian economy, not just the theoretical point of view, but also empirical and basis for the decision to economic policies

"Sub Tiberio quies"? Judaea’s Political Situation under the Prefects (6-41 c.e.), between Reality and Ideology

Deeply conflicting views on the political situation of Judaea under the Roman prefects (6-41 c.e.) have been offered. According to some scholars, this was a period of persistent political unrest and agitation, whilst according to a widespread view it was a quiescent period of political calm (reflected in Tacitus’ phrase sub Tiberio quies). The present article critically examines again the main available sources –particularly Josephus, the canonical Gospels and Tacitus– in order to offer a more reliable historical reconstruction. The conclusions drawn by this survey calls into question some widespread and insufficiently nuanced views on the period. This, in turn, allows a reflection on the non-epistemic factors which might contribute to explain the origin of such views.

Conflictos ambientales en Colombia. Retos y perspectivas desde el enfoque de DDHH y la participación ciudadana se articula en tres partes: en la primera se realiza un panorama de conflictos ambientales en las diferentes regiones naturales del país desde la perspectiva de la participación ciudadana. En la segunda se exponen las diferentes reflexiones de las autoridades ambientales locales y de las organizaciones sociales sobre los conflictos ambientales desde el enfoque de los derechos humanos. En la tercera, se hace un análisis de las competencias de las autoridades ambientales en torno al derecho a la participación cuando se presentan conflictos ambientales desde el enfoque de los derechos humanos. Dada la complejidad de los conflictos ambientales que tienen las diversas regiones del país y sus repercusiones ambientales y sociales,\' es necesario\' promover esfuerzos conjuntos con las universidades, los institutos, las organizaciones sociales y las autoridades ambientales realizando encuentros y generando reflexiones conjuntas acerca de los desafíos, retos y oportunidades en búsqueda de resolución civilista de los mismos. Serie de documentos Facultad de Jurisprudencia N° 75. Estado del arte del proyecto de invstigación. "Los daños antijurídicos producidos por los agentes de las Fuerzas Militares: límites al ejercicio de la fuerza del Estado como función pública"

La concepción de Estado moderno está íntimamente vinculada al ejercicio del monopolio legítimo de la fuerza, en tanto supone que la violencia es una de las principales prerrogativas que el Estado pretende detentar, para constituirse en una organización política de poder que perdure en la sociedad en la que se instaura. En este sentido, el proyecto de investigación tiene como uno de sus objetivos específicos, identificar, caracterizar y analizar los daños antijurídicos por los cuales el Comité de Conciliación del Ministerio de Defensa Nacional autoriza el ejercicio de la acción de repetición contra los funcionarios o ex-funcionarios de las Fuerzas Militares, limitando el análisis al periodo transcurrido durante los años 2010 a 2016. Lo anterior, con el fin de establecer cuáles son las causas generadoras de responsabilidad más frecuentes en las que han incurrido los agentes de la entidad, para luego observar su impacto en el erario de la nación y verificar cómo se constituyen en una necesidad de imposición de límites al ejercicio de la fuerza del Estado.

Polarized Light (lambda 400-2000 nm) on Third-Degree Burns in Diabetic Rats: Immunohistochemical Study

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate with light microscopy the healing process of third-degree burns on diabetic rats treated with polarized light (lambda 400-2000 nm, 20 or 40 J/cm(2)/session, 40 mW/cm(2), 2.4 J/cm(2)/min, 5.5-cm beam diameter). Background: Uncontrolled diabetes mellitus causes severe disruption of the body's metabolism, including healing. Polarized light sources have been shown to be effective in improving healing in many situations. Animals and Methods: Diabetes mellitus was induced with streptozotocin (60 mg/kg) in 45 male Wistar albino rats, and a third-degree burn (1.5 by 1.5 cm) was created on the dorsum of each animal under general anesthesia. The animals were randomly distributed into three groups: control, 20 J/cm(2), and 40 J/cm(2). Each group was then divided into three subgroups based on time of death (7, 14, 21 d). Phototherapy (20 or 40 J/cm(2) per session) was carried out immediately after the burning and repeated daily until the day before death. Following animal death, specimens were removed, embedded in paraffin, sectioned, and stained with hematoxylin and eosin (HE) or Sirius Red or immunomarked with CK AE1/AE3 antibody. Qualitative and semiquantitative analyses were performed under light microscopy. The results were statistically analyzed. Results: The animals treated with 20 J/cm(2) showed significant differences with regard to revascularization and re-epithelialization. Although the 40 J/cm(2) group showed stimulation of fibroblastic proliferation as an isolated feature, no other difference from the control was observed. Conclusion: Our results suggest that the use of polarized light at 20 J/cm(2) effectively improves the healing of third-degree burns on diabetic animals at both early and late stages of repair.

Pricing corporate bonds in Brazil: 2000 to 2004

This paper analyzes the factors that influence the issuing price of debentures in Brazil in the period from year 2000 to 2004, applying a factor model, in which exogenous variables explain return and price behavior. The variables in this study include: rating, choice of index, maturity, country risk, basic interest rate, long-term and short-term rate spread, the stock market index, and the foreign exchange rate. Results indicate that the index variable, probability of default and bond`s maturity influence pricing and points out associations of long-term bonds with better rating issues. (C) 2008 Elsevier Inc.
