Dendroecologia de Pinus sylvestris en Catalunya

En el presente trabajo se ha llevado a cabo un estudio de las limitaciones climaticas del crecimiento secundario de Pinus sylvestris L. en tres zonas de Catalunya. Para ello se han establecido 10 cronologias en otras tantas localidades, de las que 6 corresponden al Prepirineo, 2 al Montseny y 2 a Prades. La metodologia utilizada para poner de manifiesto las relaciones clima- crecimiento ha sido el análisis de regresión múltiple en componentes principales, obteniéndose asi las funciones respuesta. Los resultados confirmaron la hipotesis de que esta especie, incluso en la zona del Prepirineo, se ve influenciada por el estrés hídric0 durante la estación de crecimiento y aunque existe una respuesta similar en las tres zonas de estudio, también se producen diferencias. El efecto de inercia o el retardo con que las especies responden a 10s estímulos climaticos se ha puesto de manifiesto al presentar, alguno de 10s factores climaticos, coeficientes significativos en periodos anteriores a la estación actual de crecimiento. Los resultados son comentados desde la ecofisiologia de esta especie, comparándolos con 10s obtenidos por otros autores en el norte de su distribución geográfica. [cat]El coneixement de la trajectòria dels catalans exiliats, com és el cas de Josep Pijoan Soteras, Francesc Cambó Batlle i Josep Gudiol Ricart, entre altres, és fascinant perquè permet comprendre i valorar el seu itinerari personal, alhora que projecta un dramàtic resplendor sobre la cultura catalana de l"època. En aquest article es plantegen dues qüestions. La primera se centra en Pijoan com a agent d"art, aspecte molt poc conegut fi ns ara; mentre que en la segona part tracta de Pijoan com a escriptor d"art i la problemàtica que es va produir amb motiu de la seva intervenció en el llibre Les pintures romàniques de Catalunya dins la «Monumenta Cataloniae», col·lecció patrocinada per Francesc Cambó. [eng]Knowledge of the pathways of Catalan exiles -as in the case of Jose Pijoan Soteras, Francesc Cambó Batlle and Jose Gudiol Ricart, among others- is fascinating because it permits understanding and evaluation of their personal itineraires while at the same time casting a dramatic light on Catalan culture of the epoch. In this article two questions are presented: the first is centered on Pijoan as an art dealer, an aspect very little known until now, while the second deals with Pijoan as a writer on art and the problems raised by his participation in the book on Romanesque painters of Catalonia in the «Monumenta Cataloniae», the collection of whitch Francesc Cambó was patron.

Rhaponticum repens (Compositae), una nueva planta alóctona para la Península Ibérica

First record of the alien pest Rhaponticum repens (Compositae) in the Iberian Peninsula.- Rhaponticum repens is reported for the first time for the flora of the Iberian Peninsula. The species is native from Central Asia and has become invasive in Argentina, Canada, Europe and the USA. It was detected for the first time in abandoned fields from Vilablareix, near the city of Girona (Catalonia, Spain) and in the valley of the Vinalopó in Alicante (Valencia, Spain), where it was collected as early as in 1959 but misdentified. Molecular data, based on nrDNA region ITS, suggest that the reported populations may be closely related to plants from the United States. Due to the extremely noxious character of the species and the possible relationship of Spanish plants with the invasive American populations, some kind of monitoring is recommended

The factorial structure of the 41-item version of the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED) in a Spanish population of 8 to 12 years-old

On this instrumental study we intend to analyse the factorial structure of the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorders (SCARED) in a Spanish sample using exploratory and confirmatory factorial analysis. As a second objective we intend to develop a short form of it for rapid screening and, finally, to analyze the reliabilities of both questionnaires. The SCARED was administered to a community sample of 1,508 children aged between 8 and 12 years. The sample was randomly split using half for the exploratory analysis and the other half for the confirmatory study. Furthermore a reduced version of the SCARED was developed using the SchmidLeiman procedure. Exploratory Factor Analysis yielded a four factor structure comprised of Somatic/panic, Generalized anxiety, Separation anxiety and Social phobia factors This structure was confirmed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis. The four factors, the full scale and the short scale showed good reliabilities. The results obtained seem to indicate that the Spanish version of the SCARED has good internal consistency, and along with other recent results, has a structure of four related factors that replicates the dimensions proposed for anxiety disorders by the DSM-IV-TR

Biomecánica de las afecciones neurológicas del pie. Tratamiento ortopodológico

Presentamos un caso de pie neurológico secundario a una Espina Bífida Quística en región lumbosacra con afectación de L5- SI. El paciente presenta una marcha en pseudoestepagge. Pie derecho equino y pie izquierdo cavo anterior que provocan lesiones cutáneas plantares múltiples, interfiriendo todo ello el curso normal de la vida del paciente. Se realizó un tratamiento ortopodológico durante seis años, ensayándose distintos tipos de plantillas y diversos materiales, que han dado como resultado una marcha casi normal en la actualidad.

ANÁLISIS COLORIMÉTRICO DEL EXTRACTO ACUOSO DE HOJAS DE TECA1

RESUMEN El estudio tuvo como objetivo una evaluación colorimétrica del extracto acuoso de hojas de la base y del ápice de árboles de teca, provenientes de repoblación forestal en Mato Grosso. Los parâmetros utilizados en el sistema CieLab fueron determinados por el colorímetro MINOLTA, modelo CR400. Los extractos acuosos fueron mantenidos a una tasa de calentamiento de 100 ºC por el tiempo de 1 y 2 horas separadamente. En el análisis de los datos se adoptó el delineamento enteramente casualizado (DEC), con 6 repeticiones, en el esquema de parcelas subdivididas. En este caso se consideró como factor principal la posición de la hoja en la copa del árbol y el tiempo de calentamiento como secundario. La luminosidad no presentó diferencias significativas, en función de los factores evaluados. Se observó una pérdida en la pigmentación amarilla de la base para el ápice. Así, se verificó el color amarillo anaranjado en la base y rojo anaranjado en el ápice. Se concluyó que tanto la posición de la hoja en la copa del árbol, cuanto el tiempo de calentamiento influyeron en la coloración de los extractos, siendo 1 hora suficiente para la obtención de los colorantes, independientemente de la posición en la copa.

Tietokantojen yhdistäminen järjestelmän rajapintoja hyödyntäen

Tässä työssä on pyritty kartoittamaan mahdollisuudet omatoimiseen Voyager-kirjastojärjestelmän aineistotietokantojen ja asiakasrekisterien yhdistelyyn. Lähtökohtana on ollut oletus, että kohdejärjestelmän tietokantaan ei ole oikeuksia eikä sopimusteknistä mahdollisuuttakaan kirjoittaa tietoja suoraan kyselykielellä. Järjestelmän dokumentaatiota sekä verkostoa hyödyntämällä olen pyrkinyt kartoittamaan mahdollisuudet kaiken toiminnallisuuden vaatiman datan siirtoon. Hyödyntämällä järjestelmän rajapintoja, voidaan saavuttaa kustannussäästöjä sekä joustavuutta työn suorittamisen aikataulutukseen. Bibliografisen datan siirtoon Voyager-kirjastojärjestelmässä on mahdollisuus hyödyntää palvelimella eräajona suoritettavaa ohjelmaa. Tässä eräajossa voidaan siirtää sekä bibliografiset tietueet että varastotietueet. Nidetietojen kirjoittamiseksi kohteena olevaan tietokantaan käytetään Visual Studio -sovellusta, joka hyödyntää luettelointirajapintaa. Asiakastietojen siirtoon on mahdollista hyödyntää palvelimella suoritettavaa eräajoa, jonka syötteeksi kirjoitetaan määrämittainen syötetiedosto. Asiakastietueisiin sidotut lainatiedot voidaan siirtää kohdetietokantaan asiakasohjelman offline-lainaustoiminnolla.

The I.O.D.E. as we currently know it today was founded in 1900 by Margaret Polson Murray of Montreal, who recognized a need for loyal support of Canadians departing to fight in the Boer War with the Empire forces in South Africa. She encouraged the formation of a federation of women to promote patriotism, loyalty and service to others. The first chapter was formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick on January 15th 1900. Primary chapters were formed in quick succession across Canada. In 1901, Edith Boulton Nordheimer was elected the first national president, the location of the head office became Toronto, Ontario and the federation was incorporated as Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire and Children of the Empire Junior Branch. The Earl Mountbatten Chapter was formed in 1947 and is continuing to be a functioning chapter at the time of writing this finding aid. During the 1970’s the name I.O.D.E. was officially adopted. It is a federally chartered not-for-profit, charitable organization. Structured to report under the jurisdiction of the National chapter are the Provincial chapters, the Municipal chapters and the Primary chapters. The I.O.D.E. is associated with the Victory League in England and Daughters of the British Empire in the United States and it is proud of its heritage and traditions. Queen Elizabeth II is the current patron of the organization and although chapters sometimes disband there are always new chapters forming, including e-chapters that meet through 21st century electronics.
