We measure the cross section and the difference in rapidities between photons and charged leptons for inclusive W -> lnu+gamma production in egamma and mugamma final states. Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.2 fb-1 collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider, the cross section multiplied by the branching fraction for the process ppbar -> Wgamma+X -> lnugamma+X, measured to be 15.8 +/- 0.8 (stat.) +/- 1.2 (syst.) pb, and the distribution of the charge-signed photon-lepton rapidity difference are found to be in agreement with the standard model. These results provide the most stringent limits on anomalous WWgamma couplings for data from hadron colliders: -0.4 < Delta kappa_gamma < 0.4 and -0.08 < lambda_gamma < 0.07 at the 95% C.L.

Image-guided microsurgery requires accuracies an order of magnitude higher than today's navigation systems provide. A critical step toward the achievement of such low-error requirements is a highly accurate and verified patient-to-image registration. With the aim of reducing target registration error to a level that would facilitate the use of image-guided robotic microsurgery on the rigid anatomy of the head, we have developed a semiautomatic fiducial detection technique. Automatic force-controlled localization of fiducials on the patient is achieved through the implementation of a robotic-controlled tactile search within the head of a standard surgical screw. Precise detection of the corresponding fiducials in the image data is realized using an automated model-based matching algorithm on high-resolution, isometric cone beam CT images. Verification of the registration technique on phantoms demonstrated that through the elimination of user variability, clinically relevant target registration errors of approximately 0.1 mm could be achieved.

This paper presents a measurement of the W+W- production cross section in pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV. The leptonic decay channels are analyzed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4: 6 fb(-1) collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The W+W- production cross section sigma(pp -> W+W- + X) is measured to be 51.9 +/- 2.0(stat) +/- 3.9(syst) +/- 2.0(lumi) pb, compatible with the Standard Model prediction of 44.7(-1.9)(+2.1) pb. A measurement of the normalized fiducial cross section as a function of the leading lepton transverse momentum is also presented. The reconstructed transverse momentum distribution of the leading lepton is used to extract limits on anomalous WWZ and WW gamma couplings.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether changes in glenoid version are associated with humeral head displacement and changes in the joint reaction forces, as these might contribute to instability or loosening in total shoulder replacement. A total shoulder prosthesis was implanted in neutral version in 6 cadaveric shoulders. Glenoid version was then changed in steps of 4 degrees toward more anteversion and retroversion. An increase in anteversion resulted in anterior translation of the humeral head and in eccentric loading of the anterior part of the glenoid. Retroversion was associated with posterior displacement and posterior loading of the glenoid. A change in rotation of the humeral component did not compensate for altered version of the glenoid component. These results suggest that both instability and glenoid component loosening may be related to the version of the glenoid component. Therefore, assessment of loosening and instability justifies precise assessment of glenoid component version.
