The molecules in the crystal are packed at normal van der Waals forces and by an hydrogen bond between N1-H1...02i (N1...02i: 2.910(1)Å), with i=x,y,z+1).

Objectiu: Aquest estudi pretén aportar coneixement sobre el model d’atenció que reben les persones de més de 79 anys dependents del municipi de Vic. Analitzar en quina mesura es fa ús dels serveis formals i quines variables influeixen en la utilització d’aquest. Mètode: Estudi retrospectiu, descriptiu i transversal. De metodologia quantitativa. La població d’estudi són aquelles persones de 80 i més anys de Vic que van sol·licitar la valoració de dependència entre els anys 2007-2010, amb un grau II o III de dependència reconegut i un Pla Individual d’Atenció validat i concedit per la Generalitat de Catalunya (n=453). Les dades provenen de registres de la Generalitat de Catalunya i de l’Àrea d’Afers Socials i Ciutadania de l’Ajuntament de Vic. Les variables dependents són la utilització de recursos formals (teleassitència, servei d’atenció domiciliària –públic i privat- , centre de dia, residència i prestacions econòmiques derivades de la llei de la dependència). El grau de dependència, el gènere, l’edat, l’estat civil, la convivència, el cuidador principal i el nivell de renda es van considerar variables independents. Resultats: El model d’atenció majoritari és el que complementa el suport informal amb el formal (62.3%). L’ús de recursos formals té un paper subsidiari (37.7%). La variable convivència influeix de forma significativa amb l’ús de serveis formals (p<0.001 en l’ús de TAS, el SAD públic i el SAD privat) . Conclusió: Els disseny de programes i criteris de provisió de serveis haurien de contemplar no només el grau de dependència sinó també variables més d’entorn com la convivència. No obstant, existeix encara poca evidència científica en aquesta línia, per això s’hauria de potenciar l’ investigació que permetés analitzar les variables de la funció social de forma més acurada. In the present work, the influence of the amount of nitrogen and phosphorus and degrees Brix on the yield and productivity of alcoholic fermentation has been evaluated. The methodology used was factorial design and response surface analysis. Within the range studied only for phosphorus a statistically significant effect was observed. The broth of sugar cane of the CB 453 variety already possessed enough nitrogen for the fermentation. The mathematical and empirical model was validated for productivity and not for yield. The concentration of alcohol produced in the fermentation was not enough to cause cellular growth inhibition.

Toimivaltaisten viranomaisten on joukkoliikennelain mukaan määriteltävä joukkoliikenteen palvelutaso vuoden 2011 loppuun mennessä. Palvelutason määrittely tehdään tässä muodossa ensimmäistä kertaa. Kyse on kuitenkin jatkuvasta liikennejärjestelmätyöhön yhä kiinteämmin liittyvästä prosessista, jossa palvelutason toteutumista tullaan seuraamaan ja päätöstä tarkistetaan määräajoin. Palvelutason määrittely on myös valmistautumista siihen, millä tavoin liikenne järjestetään siirtymäajan liikennöintisopimusten päättymisen jälkeen. Pirkanmaalla siirtymäaikojen liikennöintisopimukset päättyvät 30.6.2014–31.5.2019. Palvelutasomäärittelyä hyödynnetään liikenteen järjestämisessä palvelusopimusasetuksen mukaisesti tai reittiliikenne- ja kutsujoukkoliikennelupia myönnettäessä. Joukkoliikenteen palvelutasomäärittelyt palvelevat kuntien joukkoliikenteen rahoituksen ja maankäytön suunnittelua. Määrittelyprosessin tavoitteena on myös osapuolten sitouttaminen joukkoliikenteen tavoitteellisen palvelutason toteuttamiseen. Määrittelytyön perusteella Pirkanmaan elinkeino-, liikenne- ja ympäristökeskus vahvistaa alueelleen joukkoliikennelain (869/2009) 4 §:ssä tarkoitetun palvelutason. Päätös tulee voimaan 1.1.2012 ja se on voimassa 31.12.2016 saakka. Päätöksellä vahvistettava palvelutaso suuntaa ELY-keskuksen ja kuntien toimia joukkoliikenteen järjestämisessä ja hankinnassa. Palvelutaso ei kuitenkaan luo millekään taholle subjektiivista oikeutta sen mukaisten joukkoliikennepalveluiden saamiseen.

OBJETIVO: O propósito deste trabalho experimental foi estudar os efeitos da isquemia e reperfusão hepática total sobre o acúmulo de neutrófilos no fígado de ratos, em condições de normalidade e submetidos ao estado de choque hemorrágico controlado. MÉTODO: Trinta e dois ratos Wistar, machos, foram divididos em quatro grupos de oito animais cada: grupo Controle, submetido à laparotomia com um período de 60 minutos de observação; grupo Choque, submetido a choque hemorrágico controlado (PAM = 40 mmHg, 20 min.) seguido de reposição volêmica (Ringer lactato + sangue, 3:1) e reperfusão (60 min.); grupo Pringle, submetido a isquemia hepática total (15 min.) e reperfusão (60 min.); grupo Total submetido a choque hemorrágico controlado (15 min.) seguido de reposição volêmica (Ringer lactato + sangue, 3:1) mais isquemia hepática total (15 min.) e reperfusão (60 min.). A dosagem do lactato arterial e déficit de base foram utilizados para caracterizar o estado de choque hemorrágico com baixa perfusão tecidual. Após a morte dos animais, procedeu-se à contagem de neutrófilos no tecido hepático. RESULTADOS: Na contagem de neutrófilos no fígado o grupo Pringle diferiu dos grupos Choque e Total, os quais não diferiram entre si (Controle 10,30±3,20; Choque 13,94±2,84; Pringle 7,00±3,40; Total 12,45±3,65). CONCLUSÃO: Em ratos submetidos a estado de choque hemorrágico controlado, associado à isquemia hepática total de 15 minutos, seguido de 60 minutos de reperfusão, não ocorreu acúmulo significativo de neutrófilos no fígado.

Integrins are heterodimeric, signaling transmembrane adhesion receptors that connect the intracellular actin microfilaments to the extracellular matrix composed of collagens and other matrix molecules. Bidirectional signaling is mediated via drastic conformational changes in integrins. These changes also occur in the integrin αI domains, which are responsible for ligand binding by collagen receptor and leukocyte specific integrins. Like intact integrins, soluble αI domains exist in the closed, low affinity form and in the open, high affinity form, and so it is possible to use isolated αI domains to study the factors and mechanisms involved in integrin activation/deactivation. Integrins are found in all mammalian tissues and cells, where they play crucial roles in growth, migration, defense mechanisms and apoptosis. Integrins are involved in many human diseases, such as inflammatory, cardiovascular and metastatic diseases, and so plenty of effort has been invested into developing integrin specific drugs. Humans have 24 different integrins, four of which are collagen receptor (α1β1, α2β1, α10β1, α11β1) and five leukocyte specific integrins (αLβ2, αMβ2, αXβ2, αDβ2, αEβ7). These two integrin groups are quite unselective having both primary and secondary ligands. This work presents the first systematic studies performed on these integrin groups to find out how integrin activation affects ligand binding and selectivity. These kinds of studies are important not only for understanding the partially overlapping functions of integrins, but also for drug development. In general, our results indicated that selectivity in ligand recognition is greatly reduced upon integrin activation. Interestingly, in some cases the ligand binding properties of integrins have been shown to be cell type specific. The reason for this is not known, but our observations suggest that cell types with a higher integrin activation state have lower ligand selectivity, and vice versa. Furthermore, we solved the three-dimensional structure for the activated form of the collagen receptor α1I domain. This structure revealed a novel intermediate conformation not previously seen with any other integrin αI domain. This is the first 3D structure for an activated collagen receptor αI domain without ligand. Based on the differences between the open and closed conformation of the αI domain we set structural criteria for a search for effective collagen receptor drugs. By docking a large number of molecules into the closed conformation of the α2I domain we discovered two polyketides, which best fulfilled the set structural criteria, and by cell adhesion studies we showed them to be specific inhibitors of the collagen receptor integrins.

Toxoplasmosis is one of the most common parasitic zoonoses throughout the world. Infection in man and animals varies in different geographical areas influenced by many environmental conditions. Seroprevalence of Toxoplasma gondii infection in cattle in Brazil ranges from 1.03 to 71%. A cross-sectional survey was carried out in 58 out of 453 farms in the South Fluminense Paraiba Valley, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Over 3-year-old cattle (n=589) from dairy herds were selected for blood collection and detection of anti-T. gondii antibodies by indirect immunofluorescence reaction (IFA) with initial titration of 1:16; titers > 64 were considered positive. Univariate analysis of risk factors showed that cats in contact with cattle, cats in contact with drinking water, and number of cats were associated with T. gondii seroprevalence. Logistic regression revealed a two-fold increased risk for infection of cattle (p=0.0138) through larger number of cats (>3) compared with low numbers of cats (1-2) on the farm. In contrast, the presence of chickens was considered a protective factor (p=0.025).

O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar a influência do exercício físico de intensidade submáxima (provas de marcha) sobre as variáveis bioquímicas sanguíneas usadas na avaliação do metabolismo energético em equinos da raça Mangalarga Marchador criados no Estado do Espírito Santo. Para tal foram obtidas amostras de soro e plasma de 15 equinos, da raça Mangalarga Marchador, em quatro momentos assim definidos: antes (T0) e com 5 minutos (T1), 30 minutos (T2) e 2 horas (T3) após o término do exercício. A análise dos resultados demonstrou a não influência do exercício físico imposto sobre a glicose plasmática, com valores médios de 117,1±35,8mg/dL, 122,6±59,6mg/dL, 124,8± 48,6mg/dL e 112,9±49,1mg/dL, e sobre a insulina sérica, com valores de mediana de 6,50mUI/mL, 2,00mUI/mL, 5,85mUI/mL e 11,60mUI/mL, respectivamente, nos tempos T0, T1, T2 e T3. De forma oposta, foi possível observar uma influência significativa sobre triglicérides séricos, com valores médios de 25,4±14,9mg/dL, 42,3±17,8mg/dL, 31,4±17,7mg/dL e 25,1±15,1mg/dL, e sobre o cortisol sérico, com valores médios de 7,46±4,37mg/dL, 12,45±3,08mg/dL, 11,40±2,52mg/dL e 6,89±1,78mg/dL, respectivamente nos tempos T0, T1, T2 e T3. A interpretação destes resultados permitiu concluir que a marcha elevou as concentrações séricas de triglicérides e cortisol. Também foi possível destacar que, por tais valores encontrarem-se dentro de intervalos fisiológicos, os equinos usados estavam aptos ao nível de exercício físico imposto na ocasião.

The European transport market has confronted several changes during the last decade. Due to European Union legislative mandates, the railway freight market was deregulated in 2007. The market followed the trend started by other transport modes as well as other previously regulated industries such as banking, telecommunications and energy. Globally, the first country to deregulate the railway freight market was the United States, with the introduction of the Staggers Rail Act in 1980. Some European countries decided to follow suit already before regulation was mandated; among the forerunners were the United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany. The previous research has concentrated only on these countries, which has provided an interesting research gap for this thesis. The Baltic Sea Region consists of countries with different kinds of liberalization paths, including Sweden and Germany, which have been on the frontline, whereas Lithuania and Finland have only one active railway undertaking, the incumbent. The transport market of the European Union is facing further challenges in the near future, due to the Sulphur Directive, oil dependency and the changing structure of European rail networks. In order to improve the accessibility of this peripheral area, further action is required. This research focuses on topics such as the progression of deregulation, barriers to entry, country-specific features, cooperation and internationalization. Based on the research results, it can be stated that the Baltic Sea Region’s railway freight market is expected to change in the future. Further private railway undertakings are anticipated, and these would change the market structure. The realization of European Union’s plans to increase the improved rail network to cover the Baltic States is strongly hoped for, and railway freight market counterparts inside and among countries are starting to enhance their level of cooperation. The Baltic Sea Region countries have several special national characteristics which influence the market and should be taken into account when companies evaluate possible market entry actions. According to thesis interviews, the Swedish market has a strong level of cooperation in the form of an old-boy network, and is supported by a positive attitude of the incumbent towards the private railway undertakings. This has facilitated the entry process of newcomers, and currently the market has numerous operating railway undertakings. A contrary example was found from Poland, where the incumbent sent old rolling stock to the scrap yard rather than sell it to private railway undertakings. The importance of personal relations is highlighted in Russia, followed by the railway market’s strong political bond with politics. Nonetheless, some barriers to entry are shared by the Baltic Sea Region, the main ones being acquisition of rolling stock, bureaucracy and needed investments. The railway freight market is internationalizing, which is perceived via several alliances as well as the increased number of mergers and acquisitions. After deregulation, markets seem to increase the number of railway undertakings at a rather fast pace, but with the passage of time, the larger operators tend to acquire smaller ones. Therefore, it is expected that in a decade’s time, the number of railway undertakings will start to decrease in the deregulation pioneer countries, while the ones coming from behind might still experience an increase. The Russian market is expected to be totally liberalized, and further alliances between the Russian Railways and European railway undertakings are expected to occur. The Baltic Sea Region’s railway freight market is anticipated to improve, and, based on the interviewees’ comments, attract more cargoes from road to rail.
