Datos sobre la vegetación del valle del río Bidasoa (España)

Se hace una descripción de las cinco series de vegetación que constituyen el paisaje vegetal de la cuenca del rio Bidasoa en Navarra (norte de España) y se aportan tablas fitosocíologicas de las comunidades que representan la etapa madura de cada serie asi como una tabla de los brezale sdel territorio. Se describen en ellas dos nuevas subasociaciones Polytricho setiferi-Fraxinetum excelsioris carpinetosum betuli y Tamo communis-Quercetum roboris fagetosum sylvticae.

Catálogo florístico del Cañón del río Duratón (Segovia,España), IV. Rubiaceae a Compositae

Se continúa con la presente publicación el catálogo de la flora vascular del cañón del rio Duratón (Segovia). Se citan 106 táxones de las familias comprendidas entre Rubiaceae y Compositae, resaltando las aportaciones corolágicas.

Se inicia con esta publicación el catálogo de la flora vascular del Cañón del río Duratón (Segovia). Se citan 162 taxones de las familias comprendidas entre Equisetaceae y Grossulariaceae. Se realizan numerosas aportaciones corológicas.

Disponibilidad del recurso hídrico en la microcuenca del río Bermúdez. Región central de Costa Rica.

La microcuenca del río Bermúdez es parte de la principal zona de explotación hídrica en la región Central de Costa Rica, razón por la cual se realiza un diagnóstico de la disponibilidad del recurso hídrico en esta microcuenca donde se identifican las áreas con mayor problemática de disponibilidad de este recurso. Para ello se calculó un balance hídrico mensual, según uso del suelo, unidad geomorfológica y zona climática. Con base en este balance se determinó y clasificó la disponibilidad del recurso, identificando en la microcuenca solamente tres categorías: alta, media y moderada. No existen áreas de baja disponibilidad de recurso hídrico lo que demuestra que la oferta es suficiente, sin embargo, existe una presión importante sobre el recurso hídrico pues más de la mitad del área de la microcuenca se encuentra con una disponibilidad moderada.

From an American Plantation to Interwar Poland: How Uncle Remus Became Bam-Bo the Negro

The article opens with the introduction of Joel Chandler Harris and his literary output. As one of “local colourists,” Harris depicted American plantation life in 19th-century Georgia and included many cultural as well as folk elements in his works. The following analysis of his stories about Uncle Remus focuses on (1) the levels of narration; (2) the linguistic complexity of the text (the stories abound in slang and dialectal expressions); (3) the form; and (4) the folklore value. These four aspects guide the discussion of the only Polish translation of the Uncle Remus stories. Prepared by Wladyslawa Wielinska in 1929, it was addressed to children. Therefore, the article aims to determine the profile of the translation as a children’s book, to consider it in relation to the skopos of the source text and to establish the extent to which it preserved the peculiar character of the Uncle Remus stories.

Improving RO PUF design using frequency distribution characteristics

A Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) can be used to provide authentication of devices by producing die-unique responses. In PUFs based on ring oscillators (ROs) the responses are derived from the oscillation frequencies of the ROs. However, RO PUFs can be vulnerable to attack due to the frequency distribution characteristics of the RO arrays. In this letter, in order to improve the design of RO PUFs for FPGA devices, the frequencies of RO arrays implemented on a large number of FPGA chips are statistically analyzed. Three RO frequency distribution (ROFD) characteristics, which can be used to improve the design of RO PUFs are observed and discussed.

Análisis del potencial energético del río Toachi para la generación hidroeléctrica.

This article details how the primary studies are specified to establish the flow of energy power generation and principally the turbines design flow, starting from the analysis of how determine the flow of a basin and also the methods to define the runoff flow which generates the rainfalls in the basins, analyzing the kind of grounds. When the flow of the river (basin) and design flow are specified, the type of turbine to be used is determined and also define the best efficiency possible, taking into consideration the geography of the zone of the hydroelectric, the abacus help to choose the turbine in agreed to parameters like electricity potency, voltage drops and voltage. By using the above software previously, for the design house Sarapullo and Alluriquín Hydroelectric Project Toachi machines - Pilatón, it was determined that each generating station will have three turbines type Francis of vertical axis with their complementary systems for its operation which are designed to generate 254.4 megawatts (MW) using a flow of 33.33 m3/s. Evaluación de las artes y métodos de pesca empleados en el río Mazan

El informe detalla los trabajos desarrollados por el personal del área de Artes y métodos de pesca en aguas continentales de la Dirección de investigaciones y extracción, con la ayuda material proporcionada durante las labores de campo por el Comité de pescadores del río Mazán y el personal de la oficina regional de pesquería de Iquitos, específicamente por el encargado de la zona reservada del río Mazán.

Primera evaluación sobre los posibles efectos del represamiento del río Puyango - Tumbes en la hidrobiología y pesquería de la región

Análisis de las implicancias que pueda tener el represamiento del río Puyango-Tumbes (de recorrido binacional: Ecuador, cuenca alta: 130 Km y Perú: cuenca baja y desembocadura 80 Km), en la hidrobiología y pesquería de la región. Para ello se describe previamente la conformación general del ambiente. Por las condiciones especiales del ecosistema, dicha descripción y análisis se hace separadamente para el río, zona de manglares y mar adyacente. Se indican los aspectos que podrían ser perjudiciales para el ecosistema y pesca, así como las posibilidades de aprovechamiento adicional. El informe describe el primer análisis de las implicancias que pueda tener el represamiento del río Puyango - Tumbes.
