The non existence of sewage services creates an unhealthy environmental, causing impact extremely prejudicial to the human health. In Brazil, this item represents the biggest deficit in the basic sanitation these days, and only about 50% of the population is attended. The sewage collection network is a needful system for the basic sanitation. Between the parameters of the project of a system of collection and sewage transportation, the definition of the population that will be attended is one of the most important variables, and that should be done based on criterion of population growth and in accordant to directrix presents in the comprehensive city plan. In this paper, were evaluated methods of growth based on the geometric growth rate, on the population density and on the number of residents per dwelling, and also mathematics models of growth prediction, emphasizing in the geometric growth and on the logistic curve method. That way, the goal of this paper were value the hydraulic performance in one of the watersheds delimited by the sewage network magnification work existent in the city of Cacoal–RO. Using simulation with different scenarios, the results pointed that the hydraulic performance of the system were strongly affected by the population determination method used. For the same drained area the diameters range from 150 to 250 mm as well as the trench’s deep, where some stretches exceeded the maximum values contained in the standard. Besides, the variation of the sewage contribution rate due the population variation estimated in different scenarios, led to alterations in others important project parameters, such as slope, shallow pool, tensile stress and spreading velocity

In the last few decades, Brazil has experienced an accelerated urbanization process in which many cities have grown in a disorderly way occupying environmentally fragile areas unsuitable for habitation. Anthropogenic actions such as high levels of impermeable soil, structural changes in watercourses, lack of riparian vegetation, illegal presence of trash and rubbish along the river banks added to irregular settlements in floodplains result in the rise of high risk areas. When accompanied by intense and prolonged rainfall phenomena, those areas have been the scenery of serious accidents such as floods. This study aims to classify the level of the risk of floods in the neighborhood of Jardim Inocoop, in the town of Rio Claro, São Paulo countryside, Brazil. One of the main technical support to tackle this issue is the identification and classification of the risks. In order to classify the risk level of flood in this case study, the methodology adopted was developed by the Ministry of Cities and Technology Research Institute, and take into account the arrangement of the hydrological scenario, vulnerability of households and dangerous process according to the distance of the houses from the axis of drainage. Therefore, the risk levels adopted to classify are listed below: very high (MA), high risk (A), moderate (M) and low risk (B). In conclusion, it is imperative to develop prevention plans in order to avoid or to minimize the damages caused by natural disasters. Therefore, the zoning of the risk sceneries remains as an important issue once it helps to identify the areas with high level risk of flood. Consequently, the occupation must be regulated where there is low or absent risk and it must be often forbidden where the high risk of flood is detected. Este trabalho tem como objetivo a implantação do Mercado Viver em substituição ao atual Mercado Modelo. O intuito é propor um novo programa de mercado, baseado na interação social, sociabilidade, agregando diversidade de usos, estimulando e desenvolvendo as economias locais. O espaço escolhido para implantação localiza-se na área central contígua a umas das principais vias da cidade, a Avenida Brasil. Esta área vem acrescentar a proposta de um projeto no qual se espera que seja acessível a todos e que contenha fluxo constante de pessoas. Atualmente a área encontra-se subutilizada e degradada e, portanto a intervenção arquitetônica do Mercado Viver surge como proposta não apenas de revitalização desta área, mas principalmente com intuito de sugerir um novo espaço comercial que atraia a população tanto para as compras quanto para o convívio, a cultura e o lazer, produzindo assim um espaço público ativo. Desta forma, o objeto em questão trata-se de um lugar para compras de produtos diversificados com espaços de encontro que favoreçam a integração entre os frequentadores e comerciantes através de atividades culturais e sociais, com toda a infraestrutura necessária de forma a proporcionar qualidade de produtos, conforto e comodidade aos usuários

The book-report Human Development: the reality beyond the numbers addresses issues related to the Development Index (IDH), of Brazil, in a general context, and the city of Bauru, in the local context. The “IDH” is a number that serves as a comparison between countries, in order to measure the degree of economic development and the quality of life offered to the population. The classification, if high, can be readily used as a means of aggrandizement national and if low, can be used to highlight the weaknesses national. Understanding the role of media as an agent capable of promoting social debates of great importance, this book-report aims to discuss the concept of human development beyond the numbers commonly reported, prompting debates on the issue of human development: whether in relation to social issues, public policy or the role of the media in the process of contributing to the formation of public opinion. O processo de urbanização é bastante expressivo na modificação do clima na escala local, pois as formas materiais assumidas pela cidade, bem como as atividades que nela se desenvolvem, provocam anomalias nos elementos do clima como a temperatura, umidade relativa do ar, direção e velocidade do vento. Destes, a temperatura tem se destacado nos estudos sobre o clima urbano, pois as características da área urbana promovem seu aumento tanto no ar quanto nos alvos da superfície. Nesse sentido, este estudo objetivou detectar as anomalias térmicas intraurbanas e suas magnitudes, relacionando-as com os tipos de uso e ocupação da superfície do solo no município de Presidente Prudente-SP. Para tanto, foram realizadas análises das diferenças térmicas e higrométricas entre o urbano e o rural em dias representativos do inverno e do verão, e a verificação da temperatura da superfície através do sensoriamento remoto no infravermelho termal. Os resultados apresentaram que os tipos de tempo, assim como as características da superfície foram responsáveis pelas maiores ou menores diferenças entre a área urbana e a rural, o que demonstra a importância de se adequar o planejamento urbano às características do ambiente local

A monografia aqui apresentada tem como foco o estudo do processo de estruturação do espaço urbano, com atenção para o papel dos shopping centers. Estes espaços de comercialização de bens e serviços são muito importantes para compreender tal processo e se trata de algo extremamente recente considerando-se o longo processo de urbanização, visto que sua expansão, como fenômeno urbano no Brasil é do inicio da década de 1980. O estudo privilegiou a caracterização e análise das cidades que apresentam população na faixa de 100 a 600 mil habitantes e que na sua estrutura urbana apresentem este empreendimento como um elemento que agregue ou não o poder de constituição e/ou (re)definição de centralidades, dinâmica esta bastante influenciada pela construção deste equipamento de lazer e consumo em uma cidade. Sendo assim, para o desenvolvimento deste estudo, procuramos nos nortear em questões que abarcassem qual a relação destes empreendimentos, quando existentes nas cidades, com a centralidade principal, para assim, tentarmos compreender se os mesmos desempenham a criação de novas centralidades, ou reforçam a centralidade principal já existente, concebida pela estruturação que o centro desempenha

The fundamental objective of this research was analyzed the urban expansion’s process of municipality Piracicaba, it is located in the countryside of São Paulo state. The use and occupation of land by observing the social and environmental impacts related, including the Protection Permanent Area (PPA) of urban fringes according to the successive expansions of Piracicaba city in 2006, the publication year of the current city hall director planning, until 2011, when the approval of the eighth and most recent update of Piracicaba’s expanding the perimeter. The development of the study was conducted with the support of bibliographic, cartographic, considering maps and satellite images, further more field work. Thematic maps of the current urban expansion were created, urban voids and land use were developed, typifying the occupation according to the activities established thus through the analysis of land use through cartographic interpretation, as research in locus. To assist the research geotechnologies were used, both for production and for the interpretation of cartographic materials, specially in Geographic Information Systems

The construction of the São Paulo International Airport in Guarulhos recorded significant economic growth for the whole region, especially for services and jobs generated. Despite the importance of its presence in Guarulhos, we note the absence of an articulate and committed planning to urban development of the city, mainly in adjacent areas to this airport system planning. Through this stud, we analyzed primarily the major interferences and modifications afforded by its presence in guarulhense spatiality. We found that the government was, to some extent, tolerant to mounting housing in the surrounding area to the airport, from the moment that allowed the diverse urban land use in the place where it was planned to build such equipment. We further note that the airport is developed autonomously to the municipality in which the investments and related works only aim to meet the needs of the enterprise
