A launching rocket and its payload are submitted to strong acoustic loads in some moments of its flight like lift off, during transonic flight and in the instant of maximum dynamic pressure. Resistência à flexão em porcelana feldspática: efeito da ciclagem mecânica e limite de fadiga pelo método escada

This study evaluated the fatigue limit (FL) by the staircase method and the effect of mechanical cycling on the flexural strength (FS) of Duceragold feldspathic porcelain. Specimens (25 x 5 x 2 mm) were made according to manufacturer’s directions and submitted to three-point flexural strength test (n = 10). To determine FL (n = 30; 10,000 cycles; 2 Hz), an initial loading of 60% of the FS and an incremental loading (step) of 3% of the FS were used. Data were analyzed by Anova and Tukey´s test (p < 0.05). Although the proposed cycles have not reduced FS significantly, fractography analysis showed striation, characteristic signs of mechanical fatigue.

Difesa idraulica delle aree di pianura dalle piene al limite della prevedibilità: asta medio inferiore del Fiume Po

La Tesi si occupa dello studio della gestione delle piene al limite della prevedibilità nel tratto medio inferiore del Fiume Po attraverso una laminazione controllata in Fascia C, in linea con le linee strategiche dell'AdB-Po. A tal fine è stato realizzato un modello numerico idraulico quasi-bidimensionale del tratto studiato del Fiume con il software HEC-RAS, comprendente le Fasce A, B e C, calibrato per un tempo di ritorno di 500 anni. Sono state condotte delle simulazioni sotto l'ipotesi di argini erodibili con conseguente formazione di brecce nei punti soggetti a tracimazione (situazione attuale), e sotto l'ipotesi di argini inerodibili (teorico intervento di rivestimento e consolidamento dei tratti arginali interessati da sormonto); attraverso il confronto dei risultati si è dimostrata l'utilità della laminazione controllata in Fascia C e l'auspicabilità di nuovi studi volti all'individuazione di aree poco sensibili in cui convogliare i volumi idrici esondati.

Correzioni asintotiche per il teorema del limite centrale generalizzato.

Vengono presentate correzioni agli sviluppi asintotici di Edgeworth per densità di somme di variabili aleatorie stabili. Queste stime sono successivamente implementate in Matlab, con particolare attenzioni agli approssimanti in forma razionale di Padè. Nell'Appendice viene poi fornita la distribuzione di zeri degli approssimanti di Padè per la funzione esponenziale.

The research project concerns the restoration of military real estate, starting from the procedures in progress in Italy related to dismission, with particular emphasis for Piacenza and the case study of Caserme Bixio and Nicolai (Comparto Nord/San Sisto-Cittadella). The work is aimed at defining the relationship between urban planning and rehabilitation of dismissed military areas, in order to create a synergic effort capable to face the transformation of these sites and their integration into the urban tissue. The results obtained from the various recordings performed in Italy and in USA during the preparation of this thesis may help to find a new possible scenario for the Comparto Nord and its historic buildings.
