As reflexões elaboradas nesta pesquisa se preocuparam em abordar o consumo como categoria de análise geográfica e, por meio de seu entendimento, compreender os principais impactos na produção do espaço urbano, na atualidade. Observadas as metrópoles de São Paulo, Lisboa, Seoul e Dubai, construiu-se um pensamento que considera a metrópole como espaço-sedutor. Nesta investigação, elaborou-se uma leitura das paisagens do consumo nas referidas metrópoles e várias foram as contradições encontradas nas relações de consumo e na produção do espaço urbano, e para debatê-las foi essencial o uso do método dialético. O reconhecimento das articulações entre a produção, a circulação, o comércio e o consumo, dentro do processo de generalização da mercadoria, também ganhou importância neste estudo. Ao final da pesquisa procurou-se abordar o consumo como dimensão social da questão ambiental, e assim outros conflitos foram apontados, entre eles a existência de uma geografia da felicidade paradoxal e a emergente necessidade de se minimizarem os impactos ambientais do consumo

The style of life in the cities deprives the man of the contact with nature. As a way to escape from the turbulent reality of the urban system, the urban planning provides areas that allow the contact between man and nature like botanical gardens, parks, leafy squares, etc. These places, through specific analysis, are also called green areas. Thus, the main purpose of this research is to outline and analyze, through geoprocessing techniques, green areas of Americana, São Paulo considering them as indicators of urban environmental quality. This evaluation will be based on the methodology adapted by Bargos (2010) where products of remote sensing were used (aerial photos and satellite images) and it will be also based on field work and calculation of the amount of green areas. The software ESRI ArcGIS® will be used to create thematic maps connected with city’s green areas. Based on the results achieved in this study, it’s expected to contribute to the government of the city of Americana in order to provide benefits of analysis for decision makers in the context of urban planning aiming an improvement in the urban environmental quality, thus benefiting its entire population

It is known that the urban environment modifies the energy balance between the surface and the atmosphere, causing changes in temperature, relative humidity, among other things, opening the way for studies aimed at urban climatology. Based on the theme of urban climate, this research focuses on the city of Assis, located west of São Paulo. The generation of urban climate is a result of various factors, among which stand out: the use and different land use, the thermodynamic properties of buildings, number of buildings in the urban, socioeconomic activities, etc.. In general, this increases the temperature and reducing relative humidity, providing thermal discomfort. The rural environment is used for comparison studies to this theme by presenting different characteristics in relation to the structure, morphology and urban functionality. The main objective of this study is to determine the characteristics of temperature and humidity environments with the habits and occupations of the different soils in winter, at night, one inserted into the urban fabric of Assis and the other in the rural environment, to verify for evidence of changes in climatic elements because of urbanization. To collect the data will be used mini automatic weather stations that record data on temperature and humidity. For analysis of the results will be made between the data obtained in the city and the countryside, developing graphics application using Excel to tabulate the data. It was found that there were differences in the thermo-hygrometric data collection points, showing a specific urban climate in the city of Assis

O processo de urbanização é bastante expressivo na modificação do clima na escala local, pois as formas materiais assumidas pela cidade, bem como as atividades que nela se desenvolvem, provocam anomalias nos elementos do clima como a temperatura, umidade relativa do ar, direção e velocidade do vento. Destes, a temperatura tem se destacado nos estudos sobre o clima urbano, pois as características da área urbana promovem seu aumento tanto no ar quanto nos alvos da superfície. Nesse sentido, este estudo objetivou detectar as anomalias térmicas intraurbanas e suas magnitudes, relacionando-as com os tipos de uso e ocupação da superfície do solo no município de Presidente Prudente-SP. Para tanto, foram realizadas análises das diferenças térmicas e higrométricas entre o urbano e o rural em dias representativos do inverno e do verão, e a verificação da temperatura da superfície através do sensoriamento remoto no infravermelho termal. Os resultados apresentaram que os tipos de tempo, assim como as características da superfície foram responsáveis pelas maiores ou menores diferenças entre a área urbana e a rural, o que demonstra a importância de se adequar o planejamento urbano às características do ambiente local

Este trabalho apresenta o resultado de estudo e análise do espaço urbano de São Pedro/SP para avaliar a interferência da urbanização nas mudanças geomórficas e na formação de feições associadas a processos erosivos lineares acelerados. A área de estudo localiza-se na porção centro-oriental do estado de São Paulo, distando cerca de 198 km da capital. Encontra-se limitada pelas coordenadas 22º30’ e 22º45’ de latitude sul e 47º45’ e 48º00’ de longitude oeste. (FACINCANI, 1995, p.4). Para atender ao objetivo proposto, foram realizados mapeamentos geomorfológicos e do uso da terra ao longo do processo histórico de expansão da área urbana do município, mais precisamente desde 1970 até o período atual, com base na proposta técnica de Tricart (1965) e Anderson (1979), respectivamente. Para isso, foram utilizadas fotografias aéreas de escala 1:25.000, 1:40.000 e 1:30.000, referentes respectivamente, aos cenários de 1972, 1988 e 2000. Para realização da análise integrada da dinâmica do uso da terra e das alterações geomórficas foi utilizada a “Teoria Geral dos Sistemas” como orientação metodológica, uma vez que uma das principais preocupações do geógrafo são os impactos ambientais e, conforme Christofoletti (1986), para compreender e executar ações preventivas e de recuperação do meio degradado, é necessário obter conhecimentos adequados desses processos, com base numa abordagem integrada do espaço, visando à compreensão do funcionamento e do equilíbrio da natureza integrados com as atividades humanas. Dessa forma, este estudo constatou que a expansão urbana de São Pedro foi uma das causas do surgimento e evolução das diversas voçorocas existentes na área de estudo. Ainda, por meio de... In this study we discuss a range of topics related to urban development from the perspective of connection points between the existence of the individual subjects’ lives. In this connection we identified the signs that express an articulation among subjectivity processes and conditions for interference in the real world, relying on circumscribed remarks about spatial configurations and its uses. This way, the substance of our research is structured upon the concept of fashion brands operating new dynamics of urban lifestyles, a strengthened reliance on the physical body’s appearance and the profusion of a supposed “I”, presented as a spectacle. Taking these assertions as new “trends” on building view-points and contemporary cities, we discuss the implications of these currents on how people gather and organize themselves in the urban landscape, making an effort to comprehend how these vogues reverberate on the (re)production of increasingly segregated cities

This paper focuses on the implementation of a geological and geotechnical mapping to the planning of the region stream Bertini, territorial expansion area of the municipality of Americana (SP), a medium-sized city in the countryside of Sao Paulo state, with great potential for growth industrial and residential. To this end, based on the methodology established by the Institute for Technological Research, the charters geological and geotechnical aimed at exposing the capabilities and limitations of the soil. The analysis of similar soil characteristics such as geology, geomorphology, slope, geotechnical testing and the current use and land cover was possible to recognize four geotechinical units. The units I and III are related to areas of top and concave and convex parts of the study area, shown to be sites of low occupancy restriction. However the units II and IV, respectively allocated in the floodplain of the Piracicaba River and the banks of the stream Bertini and some of its drainage, showed a more restricted area due to proximity to water bodies and drainages that offer higher slopes.

Water is an essential element for life. The use of this element, to support the community, defines it as water resource. This feature is being misused and degraded by the dumping of highly contaminated effluents. The impoverishment of its quality poses a risk to human consumption. The necessity to manage this resource, treating the wastewater properly, requires the constant improvement of treatment systems. Another need is to adjust the cost of systems to the demands of communities with less financial clout. This study aimed to adapt and understand the systems of wetlands, improving its efficiency, in an attempt to collaborate with the enrichment of this technology. The practical evidence, with lab-scale prototypes, assembled in ETE Piracicamirim with urban sewage effluent contributed to highlight the problems and operating system design. The bibliographic review showed that several studies had effectiveness for treatment. But it was evident the need for better understanding of dimensioning definitions that better attempted to the answers into the project. Moreover, standardization of system conditions for the specific wastewater treatment is an interesting field, identified, for future studies yet contribute to environmental engineering and sanitation

There are obvious changes that occur within the cities, experienced in synthesis for the degradation of the environment and especially the worsening quality of life. Even small cities, began to exhibit characteristics typical of an atmospheric climate. Thus, it becomes natural to analyze the characteristics of these spaces, unlike the medium and large cities, provide a detailed analysis of the peculiarities of intra-urban space in order to highlight what factors enhance or soften the formations of a typical urban climate distinct patterns of land use. The aim of this research from a geoenvironmental mapping of attributes (uses and land cover, vegetation and tree characteristics of buildings) while representing the dynamic City entertainment. Thus, we seek to inter-relate these indicators to analysis climate urban-rural and intra-urban applied to the city of Alfredo Marcondes / SP, a small town in order to identify a potential compromise climate conditions point to generate a specific climate. From this detailed analysis, we intend to give suggestions with the government to improve the comfort of that environment. For the data collection was organized a specific methodology for its collection, organization and representation and for the record of climatic data (temperature, wind speed and direction and cloud cover) were used mini-shelters weather with temperature sensors in fixed locations, and a temperature sensor attached on the side of a vehicle, 1.5 meters in height from the floor for 42 points perpassando selected in different intra-urban spaces... This paper analyzes the accessibility of the elderly population in relation to urban transportation in the city of Rio Claro - SP. After a study of the physiology, infrastructure, history and legislation of the city, there were collected and analyzed data obtained through semi-structured interviews with the elderly population that makes use of public transport with the aim of identifying the user's profile as well as their impressions and criticism of the service. The Department of Transport and Urban Mobility of Rio Claro provided general information related to public transport in the city. After all the survey, it can be seen that, although a significant portion of the elderly population make use of public transport, there are problems related to the structure of the city, which hinders the movement of buses, and the accessibility of the elderly, caused by physical characteristics of the vehicles, attitude of the motorists and aspects of public administration of the town. These data support the conclusion that there is often a disregard for the rights of the elderly and that it not only should as it can be corrected
