La participación social como método de conservación. Estudio de caso en el área de conservación arenal Huetar norte de Costa Rica

El presente estudio se realiza con la intención de contribuir a establecer las bases para una buena gestión del territorio en el Área de conservación arenal Huetar norte de Costa Rica mediante la participación social; garantizando la conservación del capital natural y el desarrollo económico, social y ambientalmente sostenible. Para ello, se ha colaborado en la formación del Consejo Local del Corredor Biológico Ruta Los Malécu-Medio Queso (CL CBRLM-MQ) y del Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre Caño Negro (RNVSCN), formado por una coalición social que tendrá el objetivo de gestionar su propio territorio. Con la intención de capacitar a los integrantes de este consejo, y a los pobladores de la Zona Norte de Costa Rica en general, y orientarlos hacia la buena gestión de los recursos naturales, se ha realizado un análisis detallado sobre su percepción sobre los Servicios Ecosistémicos de la región. El resultado de este proyecto, es un manual de educación y comunicación ambiental sobre los servicios ecosistémicos de la Zona Norte para el educador/a. Con este manual se pretende capacitar a los pobladores sobre el valor de los SE, todo con la finalidad de promover cambios de actitudes y de conductas que fomenten una relación respetuosa con la naturaleza para alcanzar el desarrollo sostenible de la región y de esta manera mejorar la calidad de vida de los habitantes de esta zona.

Effects of brood size manipulation and common origin on phenotype and telomere length in nestling collared flycatchers.

BACKGROUND: Evidence is accumulating that telomere length is a good predictor of life expectancy, especially early in life, thus calling for determining the factors that affect telomere length at this stage. Here, we investigated the relative influence of early growth conditions and origin (genetics and early maternal effects) on telomere length of collared flycatchers (Ficedula albicollis) at fledging. We experimentally transferred hatchlings among brood triplets to create reduced, control (i.e. unchanged final nestling number) and enlarged broods. RESULTS: Although our treatment significantly affected body mass at fledging, we found no evidence that increased sibling competition affected nestling tarsus length and telomere length. However, mixed models showed that brood triplets explained a significant part of the variance in body mass (18%) and telomere length (19%), but not tarsus length (13%), emphasizing that unmanipulated early environmental factors influenced telomere length. These models also revealed low, but significant, heritability of telomere length (h(2) = 0.09). For comparison, the heritability of nestling body mass and tarsus length was 0.36 and 0.39, respectively, which was in the range of previously published estimates for those two traits in this species. CONCLUSION: Those findings in a wild bird population demonstrate that telomere length at the end of the growth period is weakly, but significantly, determined by genetic and/or maternal factors taking place before hatching. However, we found no evidence that the brood size manipulation experiment, and by extension the early growth conditions, influenced nestling telomere length. The weak heritability of telomere length suggests a close association with fitness in natural populations.

S�_�_olta - Final Report on the Development and Implementation of the S�_�_olta Quality Assurance Programme

This report provides an overview of the development and field testing of the S�_olta Quality Assurance Programme (QAP). It outlines the timeline, key roles and activities and draws upon evaluation data gathered at various stages of the action research and development process. It briefly describes the processes, tools, materials and the professional roles that have been developed to support implementation of the S�_olta QAP. It concludes with consideration of the context within which the S�_olta QAP will operate into the future and makes a set of recommendations to connect this research and development phase for S�_olta and the S�_olta QAP with national and international policy developments related to the improvement of the quality of early childhood care and education (ecce) in Ireland.

Rellevància de la intervenció educativa i l'assessorament psicopedagògic de l'EAP Nou Barris en la millora de la dinàmica i el funcionament dels centres escolars

Aquest projecte final de Pràcticum II de Psicologia de l'Educació, explica totes lesactivitats que he dut a terme al llarg de la meva estada en pràctiques a l'Equipd'Assessorament Psicopedagògic Nou Barris (EAP Nou Barris), de la ciutat de Barcelona.S'hi descriuen les característiques del centre i dels Serveis Educatius Nou Barris en què es troba immers com a part integrant, així com els serveis que ofereixen a la comunitat educativa, molt especialment els propis de l'EAP Nou Barris com a centre de pràctiques, adreçats a assessorar al professorat i a les famílies dels infants a ajudar els nens a millorar les seves capacitats i competències d'aprenentatge i/o la seva conducta a les etapes educatives d'Educació Infantil (EI), Educació Primària (EP) i Educació Secundària Obligatòria (ESO), des d'un marc teòric col·laboratiu, constructivista i sistèmic, tot emfasitzant el treball col·laboratiu que mantenen els professionals de l'educació entre sí i amb les famílies dels alumnes, així com amb els serveis externs, com ara el CSMIJ i els Serveis Socials. El projecte detalla les observacions que he realitzat envers les actuacions dutes a terme pel meu tutor extern de l'EAP Nou Barris, la seva temporització i finalment,les conclusions i prospectiva envers el treball realitzat, així com la valoració crítica que en faig de la meva estada en pràctiques.

Material didáctico de educación ambiental no formal para el programa “yo, sí puedo cuidar el ambiente”, en Nicaragua

El presente trabajo ha consistido en elaborar el material didáctico para la educación ambiental no formal de los ciudadanos de Nicaragua, con nivel escolar equivalente a sexto grado. Este material en un futuro cercano será la base del programa de alfabetización ambiental “Yo, Sí Puedo Cuidar el Ambiente”,coordinado por la “Red Universitaria Yo, Sí Puedo” en distintas partes de Nicaragua. El resultado del proyecto es una cartilla destinada al alumno y una Guía Metodológica para el educador. Para la realización de este proyecto ha sido necesaria una estancia de tres meses y medio para la recopilación de información y la elaboración de material didáctico. El principal objetivo del material elaborado es contribuir en la sensibilización y la formación de valotres ambientales de los participantes, mejorando asi su calidad de vida y su entorno

Projecte de dinamització i gestió del centre d’ atenció al visitant dins l’ APA Itacaré-Serra Grande i Península de Maraú

Aquest projecte es centra en el municipi d’ Itacaré (Bahía, Brasil), el qual actualment pateix una creixent demanda de turisme pel seu atractiu natural. Aquest municipi no disposa de cap Pla de Gestió del Turisme. Per aquest motiu i juntament amb l’ ONG del Brasil “Instituto Aliança” s’ ha treballat en un projecte de creació d’ un centre d’ atenció al visitant. Aquest “Centre de atendimento a ou visitante” està encarat bàsicament a informar i sensibilitzar als turistes i als propis natius de la zona, de les característiques ambientals i culturals de la regió, alhora que es potencia un turisme de base comunitària

Proposta de Centre d’ Educació Ambiental a la Vall del LLémana

L’ objectiu principal d’ aquesta proposta d’ educació ambiental és habilitar un espai físic que ja existeix, la rectoria de Cartellà, on els alumnes de primària i de secundària, i les famílies puguin participar d’ una sèrie d’ activitats encarades a l’ obtenció de nous valors relacionats amb el respecte cap a l’ entorn natural. El projecte s’ estructura bàsicament en dues parts: una primera on es situa i es descriu l’ espai on es destina la proposta i una segona on es tracten les actuacions específiques per tal d’ aconseguir que la gent es familiaritzi amb l’ entorn i aprengui a actuar de manera respectuosa amb el medi

Maleta pedagògica familiar "Descobrim l'estany de Banyoles"

L’educació ambiental a Catalunya i, en concret a les comarques gironines, compta amb una certa tradició. Són diversos els equipaments que, de mica en mica, han anat oferint a les escoles la possibilitat de fer un aprenentatge directe i experimental de les Ciències Naturals i Socials, tot oferint als centres allò que la seva infraestructura no els permet obtenir o allò que el seu context geogràfic els impedeix conèixer. Doncs la ciutat de Banyoles i la seva comarca, el Pla de l’Estany, constitueixen una zona de gran interès paisatgístic i natural, a més de cultural i artístic, que comporten un gran nombre de possibilitats didàctiques ja que el propi medi ofereix un ampli ventall de recursos pedagògics. Per això, amb l’interès de fer conèixer als escolars de Catalunya la riquesa de la comarca i de recolzar amb l'experiència directa el treball de l'aula, va néixer l’Escola de Natura de Banyoles (d’ara endavant EdNB)

Ecoauditoria de l’IES Santa Coloma de Farners

El projecte “Ecoauditoria de l’IES Santa Coloma de Farners” consisteix en: la diagnosi ambiental del centre, les propostes de les línees d'acció, les propostes d’ actuació, la valoració i anàlisi de les propostes i l’ autoseguiment del pla d’ acció indispensables per a que el centre pugui aconseguir el distintiu d'Escola Verda que atorga la Generalitat de Catalunya. Incorporar l’ educació ambiental en el currículum escolar és un altre dels objectius d’ aquest treball. Així que es proposen activitats curriculars amb l’ objectiu de transmetre una major sensibilització ambiental a l’alumnat i a tota la comunitat educativa en general
