We know that play is directly linked to the development and growth of the child. Thinking in this context, were created recreational spaces, more known as playrooms or toy libraries. This research seeks to understand the playful objects used in more visits with children, realized CPA, FC UNESP - Bauru. Therefore, it was necessary to identify the objects necessary to the demands of users of CPA, they were psychology trainees, fellows extension projects, graduate students, teachers and the subjects treated population served. Composed over 1000 objects, the collection must be appropriate to the needs of the CPA. The research in question is characterized as a case study, is related to our shares a scholarship project Playing in the Center for Applied Psychology - CPA, held in the collection playful and Toy CPA, FC UNESP - Bauru, used, in this case, as a field for this research. Watching the playful collection, daily, some questions have arisen about this space became in this study. The data collection period was from September 2011 to September 2012. As an instrument for data collection was mounted a notebook control in order to check the movement of the objects of the collection, also applied a questionnaire to teachers and trainees working in the CPA. At the end of the study we can say that the symbolic games and rules are the objects that are related to care provided in the CPA because of its capabilities to assist in various aspects of the development of children, with the most frequently used symbolic games with children aged 2 to 7 years and the games rules with children aged 7-12 years or more

This paper presents the design of a high-speed coprocessor for Elliptic Curve Cryptography over binary Galois Field (ECC- GF(2m)). The purpose of our coprocessor is to accelerate the scalar multiplication performed over elliptic curve points represented by affine coordinates in polynomial basis. Our method consists of using elliptic curve parameters over GF(2163) in accordance with international security requirements to implement a bit-parallel coprocessor on field-programmable gate-array (FPGA). Our coprocessor performs modular inversion by using a process based on the Stein's algorithm. Results are presented and compared to results of other related works. We conclude that our coprocessor is suitable for comparing with any other ECC-hardware proposal, since its speed is comparable to projective coordinate designs.

In this paper we propose a variational approach for multimodal image registration based on the diffeomorphic demons algorithm. Diffeomorphic demons has proven to be a robust and efficient way for intensity-based image registration. However, the main drawback is that it cannot deal with multiple modalities. We propose to replace the standard demons similarity metric (image intensity differences) by point-wise mutual information (PMI) in the energy function. By comparing the accuracy between our PMI based diffeomorphic demons and the B-Spline based free-form deformation approach (FFD) on simulated deformations, we show the proposed algorithm performs significantly better.

Geodetic observations show several large, sudden increases in flow speed at Helheim Glacier, one of Greenland's largest outlet glaciers, during summer, 2007. These step-like accelerations, detected along the length of the glacier, coincide with teleseismically detected glacial earthquakes and major iceberg calving events. No coseismic offset in the position of the glacier surface is observed; instead, modest tsunamis associated with the glacial earthquakes implicate glacier calving in the seismogenic process. Our results link changes in glacier velocity directly to calving-front behavior at Greenland's largest outlet glaciers, on timescales as short as minutes to hours, and clarify the mechanism by which glacial earthquakes occur. We recently reported on the synthesis and pairing properties of the DNA analogue bicyclo[3.2.1]amide DNA (bca-DNA). In this analogue the nucleobases are attached via a linear, 4-bond amide-linker to a structurally preorganized sugar-phosphate backbone unit. To define the importance of the degree of structural rigidity of the bca-backbone unit on the pairing properties, we designed the structurally simpler cyclopentane amide DNA (cpa-DNA), in which the bicyclo[3.2.1]-scaffold was reduced to a cyclopentane unit while the base-linker was left unchanged. Here we present a synthetic route to the enantiomerically pure cpa-DNA monomers and the corresponding phosphoramidites containing the bases A and T, starting from a known, achiral precursor in 9 and 12 steps, respectively. Fully modified oligodeoxynucleotides were synthesized by standard solid-phase oligonucleotide chemistry, and their base-pairing properties with complementary oligonucleotides of the DNA-, RNA-, bca-DNA-, and cpa-DNA-backbones were assessed by UV melting curves and CD-spectroscopic methods. We found that cpa-oligoadenylates form duplexes with complementary DNA that are less stable by -2.7 degrees C/mod. compared to DNA. The corresponding cpa-oligothymidylates do not participate in complementary base-pairing with any of the investigated backbone systems except with its own (homo-duplex). As its congener bca-DNA, cpa-DNA seems to prefer left-handed helical duplex structures with DNA or with itself as indicated by the CD spectra
