Políticas de representación y poder: la práctica artística del español Santiago Sierra

La presente tesis, es un estudio sobre las políticas de representación y poder en el arte relacional de la obra del artista español Santiago Sierra, en la cual se realizó un análisis en torno al papel protagónico del uso de la representaciones en el arte contemporáneo como una construcción discursiva que parte de una base más amplia, como es la cultura y la sociedad del sistema mundo-capitalista colonial. En esta investigación se problematizan las política de representación del sujeto marginal, y se reconoce en la forma de hacer arte relacional del artista regímenes de poder, por cuanto el Otro representado es el cuerpo en donde confluyen repositorio de desigualdades y superioridades fundadas a partir de la cultura.  Así, en el primer capítulo, se plantea un recorrido por el arte relacional y antagónico con la cultura, y como la primera se nutre de la segunda, desde el manejo de la violencia del Arte Contemporáneo, pasando por los regímenes escópicos y, hasta la operación de la representación.  Posteriormente, en el segundo capítulo, se analiza las políticas de representación de las que se nutre Sierra para realizar su obra, tales como: la otredad, la diferencia, el estereotipo, la cosificación y el espectáculo. Siendo estas una forma de representar, lo que denominaremos pornomiseria en arte. Partiendo también, desde las perspectivas visuales sobre el cuerpo del sujeto marginal, tales como, la racialización, la sexualización y el canibalismo a partir de dos obras: los penetrados y Persona remunerada por una jornada de 360 horas continuas.

A pension manager’s view of exchange traded funds from São Paulo to Santiago

This paper examines the current Chilean and Brazilian pension markets, how these pension markets are structured, how they have historically invested their portfolios in ETFs and how they utilize Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). This investigation will give an overview of the current pension landscape in each country, ETFs and ETF managers in the region, as well as distribution allowances and regulations for ETF providers within the region. Finally it will offer insights throughout that will be useful to those building a business or creating an expansion plan in Brazil or Chile.

Death of two slender-billed parakeet (King) (Enicognathus leptorhynchus) (Aves, Psittacidae) by Ascaridia hermaphrodita (Froelich, 1789, Railliet & Henry, 1914) at the National Zoo of Santiago, Chile

No Zoológico Nacional do Parque Metropolitano de Santiago, Chile, foram encontrados dois psitacídeos Enicognathus leptorhynchus, mortos pelo nematódeo Ascaridia hermaphrodita (Froelich, 1789). Este é o primeiro registro desse nematódeo em E. leptorhynchus e também o primeiro registro deste parasito no Chile.

Avaliação clínica da saúde bucal de crianças com neoplasias malignas atendidas no Hospital Infantil Varela Santiago em Natal-RN

The childhood cancer is characterized by a predominance of hematogenic and lymphatic system neoplasm, although a fTequency of the central nervous system tumors and sarcomas are widely common. Particularities of many childhood cancers and the adverses effect of the antineoplastic agents can change radically the oral environrnent and predisposes to the risk of oral complications. This study assessment clinically the oral health of 40 children on treatment for different types of malignant neoplasm with age range of O to 1S years old (Group I) and compared to 38 nonnal children in the same age range (Group lI). The results shown that nonnal patients had a gingival bleeding index (GBI) and caries experience minar than patients of Group lI, the visivel plaque index (VPI) was lightly higher in patients of Group 1. There was not difference statistically significant in the variables. Sixteen patients of Group I developed together 61 oral complications with predominance of mucositis, followed by spontaneous oral bleeding, candidiasis and xerostomy, that complication were most commons in patients with systemic neoplasm. Its was concluded that patients submitted to antineoplastic therapy with poor oral health had a higher risk to develop oral complications

Condom use at last sexual relationship among adolescents of Santiago Island, Cape Verde, - West Africa

Objective: To estimate factors associated with condom use at last sexual intercourse among adolescents.Methods: Cross-sectional study of a representative sample of 368 sexually active adolescents aged 13-17 years from eight public high schools on Santiago Island, Cape Verde, 2007. The level of significance was 5.0% obtained from logistic regression, considering the association between condom use and socio-demographic, sexual and reproductive variables.Results: The prevalence of condom use at last sexual intercourse was 94.9%. Factors associated with condom use at last sexual relationship were: non-Catholic religion (OR=0.68, 95%CI: 0.52; 0.88) and affective-sexual partnership before the interview (OR=5.15, 95%CI: 1.79; 14.80).Conclusions: There was a high prevalence of condom use at last sexual intercourse of adolescents.
