Bond between John Leverett and Elisha Cooke to John White, Treasurer of Harvard College, 1716 November 20

Two folio-sized leaves containing a one-and-a-half page copy of the bond between John Leverett and Elisha Cooke to John White, Treasurer of Harvard, for £200. The bond was witnessed by William Austin and Mary Gilbert. An October 3, 1726 receipt of payment from Nathaniel Byfield on the bond, signed by Treasurer Edward Hutchinson, is located on the verso of the first leaf.

The Laws of Harvard College, 1798-1799

Bound copy of the 1798 College Laws printed by John & Thomas Fleet, in a modern hardcover binding. The copy is interleaved with unlined pages that include handwritten notes about the laws, often dated in late 1799. The annotations are attributed to a Latin tutor at the College.

Notebook with a handwritten copy of the 1734 College laws copied in English by Harvard undergraduate Timothy Prout and signed by President Edward Holyoke, Fellows Henry Flynt and Nathan Prince, and Tutors Stephen Sewall and Daniel Rogers on October 5, 1737. The flyleaf includes the note, "This Body of Colledge Laws was transcribed by Timo. Prout July ye 10th anno Domini 1737.

Includes contribution totals from personal subscribers, individual donors, the Harvard Corporation, and the Humane Society for the construction of a bath on the Charles River. Also contains estimated costs for materials and labor.

Floor plan and notes for proposed building with chapel and hall, [ca. 1799]

Possibly drawn and written in the hand of President Joseph Willard. The proposed building would house a chapel, halls, chambers for scholars, and was to be built on the site of the first Stoughton Hall which was torn down in 1781.
