The fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda is one of the most important pests of maize. Various studies are conducted for their management, integrating chemical and biological control tactics as well as resistant plants. In order to offer alternatives for an efficient management of this pest with minimal use of pesticides, the technology of genetically modified plants resistant to insects has been widely studied. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the natural infestation of larvae of S. frugiperda and their injuries under field conditions in transgenic maize hybrids compared to their conventional isogenic counterparts at two sowing dates and two regions. The hybrids were planted in the off season of 2010 in Jaboticabal, SP, Brazil, and the summer of 2010/2011 in Jaboticabal, and Pindorama, SP, in a randomized block with seven treatments (hybrids) and four replications. Different levels of infestation of larvae occurred throughout the phenological development of plants in conventional and genetically modified hybrids with significant differences between the two groups in most evaluations. The hybrid 2B710HX was the least infested with caterpillars and had the least damaged leaf area. It follows that the Cry1F toxin was the most effective in protecting the plant in relation to other toxic proteins expressed by the other Bt hybrids against infestation and damage promoted by this pest, regardless of time of sowing.

As a hybrid genre, the narrative of Carlo Levi is an objective account and subjective elaboration that are equalized in a literary form. Written between 1943 and 1944, the book evokes with an atmosphere of memoir the period of 1935 and 1936, the writer’s exile. The film based on the narration fragmentizes the daily life of the problematic region and highlights the truth aimed by the discourses composed in times of crises, reinforced by action and expression without provincialism and also without a compensating aristocratic pose. It is possible to see some incapacity of the film by Rosi, natural to a certain degree, to translate the synthesis of literary treatment and socio-historical reflection. For this reason it is necessary to read the adaptation as an attitude about the literary matter and the result of historical experience. The memoir character relies on the artifice that makes good use of the book’s opening, the author’s short monologue, its narrative frame. Based on the lack of information regarding the morphology of marsh deer, this work aims to describe some morphological aspects of the gastric chamber in this species, collaborating with future investigations, mainly related to rational handling in this cervid. This work aimed to describe the morphology of the gastric chamber of the marsh deer, characterizing the external and internal macroscopical details and the microscopical architecture of these structures by light microscopy. Macroscopically, the marsh deer stomach is formed by the rumen, reticulum, omasum and abomasum similar to the domestic ruminants. Microscopically, rumen and abomasum are similar to the domestic ruminants. The reticulum and the omasum, however, present specific characteristics such as keratin on the top of the reticulum, small epithelial projections and omasum folds covered with discrete papillae.

Twenty eight species of Temnocerus Thunberg, 1815 are recognized from Central America (Mexico to Panama) with eight previously described species and 20 new species as follows: T. abdominalis (Voss), T. chiapensis n. sp., T. chiriquensis (Sharp), T. confertus (Sharp), T. cyaneus n. sp., T. ellus n. sp., T. giganteus n. sp., T. guatemalenus (Sharp), T. guerrerensis n. sp., T. herediensis n. sp., T. mexicanus n. sp., T. michoacensis n. sp., T. minutus n. sp., T. niger n. sp., T. oaxacensis n. sp., T. obrieni, n. sp., T. oculatus (Sharp), T. potosi n. sp., T. pseudaeratus n. sp., T. pueblensis n. sp., T. pusillus (Sharp), T. regularis (Sharp), T. rostralis n. sp., T. rugosus n. sp., T. salvensis n. sp., T. tamaulipensis n. sp., T. thesaurus (Sharp) and T. yucatensis n. sp. Rhynchites debilis Sharp is placed in synonymy with Temnocerus guatemalenus (Sharp) and Pselaphorhynchites lindae Hamilton is placed in synonymy with Temnocerus regularis (Sharp). A key to species based on external characters and male genitalia is provided as well as digital images, aedeagus drawings, and map distributions.

La tesi inizia con lo studio degli antichi sistemi di adduzione delle acque a Fermo (nel periodo compreso tra l'età romana e l'età medioevale), per poi trattare il tema delle fonti pubbliche medioevali presenti nella città e quelle monumentali esistenti nella regione Marche. Infine si arriva al tema specifico della trattazione, andando ad analizzare la Fonte San Francesco di Paola fino a pervenire al progetto di restauro e di valorizzazione.

This work is focused on the reconstruction of the intellectual biography of Francesco Platone de' Benedetti, prince of the Bologna's printers (1482-1486), that is the same with his typographical outputs. The research had been divided in two parts: the first, with his life, invesitigated by archive documents, and the second part, focused on the census of his editions, with a particular attention to his types. The research on the typographical types had been developed with Adobe Photoshop, that had allowed me to virtually reconstruct the cases of the Gotic and Roman types used by de' Benedetti.

Quelle est la différence entre un flibustier et un pirate ? Ce projet de recherche est basé sur cette question enfantine. En fait, les historiens contemporains, qui ont consacré de nombreuses pages à la « piraterie » et à la « flibuste » de l’âge moderne, n’ont pas réussi à répondre à cette – apparemment – simple question. Les reconstructions et les théories développées, en fait, ont assimilé ces deux phénomènes, en traitant les deux termes comme de simples synonymes. Mais, si cela peut être considéré comme vrai aujourd’hui, il n'était pas au cours des XVIIème et XVIIIème siècles. À l'époque, pirate était équivalent de « hostis humani generis », et comme tel craint et persécuté. Les flibustiers, au contraire, ont été considérés comme l’un des groupes les plus importants dans les premiers établissements des îles de la Mer des Caraïbes. En outre, le terme flibustier, dans la correspondance des gouverneurs français, se réfère à un élément considéré comme essentiel pour la réussite du processus de construction de la colonie, et également cruciale pour la consolidation des établissements américains. C’est donc la relation spéciale entre les flibustiers et le Nouveau Monde est l’objet de cette thèse. En utilisant une approche historico-culturel, on a essayé de contextualiser le phénomène de la flibuste dans le « processus d’américanisation » des premières communautés européennes en Amérique. La relation étroite entre les colons des établissements français de Saint-Domingue (aujourd’hui Haïti) et les nombreux espaces - économique, militaire, diplomatique, social, humain - des Caraïbes a fait des flibustiers un élément fortement « américanisé ». Grâce à la lecture des documents d'archives et les mémoires des années entre 1684 et 1727, on a reconstruit la dynamique de la relation entre ce groupe et le contexte américain, avec une attention particulière à la dynamique culturelle et sociale.

Il lavoro svolto si concentra sulla città di Mirandola, dopo il terremoto del 2012. Viene svolto uno studio storico della città, e un'analisi sullo stato di fatto. Riflessioni sul limite tra città contemporanea e città storica. Viene proposta la ricostruzione del segno delle mura come limite, in modo da restituire un'identità alla città. Infine, il progetto si concentra sull'area dell'ex convento di San Francesco, complesso abbandonato dopo il sisma. La volontà è quella di riuscire a restituirlo alla cittadini di Mirandola, come nuovo centro culturale. Il progetto si impegna a mantenere l'esistente, aggiungendo un nuovo volume, che verrà occupata da una sala conferenze e da una parte della biblioteca.
