In this work, was studied the formation of a composite of the refractory metal niobium with copper, through the process of high-energy milling and liquid phase sintering. The HEM can be used to synthesize composite powders with high homogeneity and fine size particle distribution. It may also produce the solid solubility in immiscible systems such as Nb-Cu, or extend the solubility of systems with limited solubility. Therefore, in the immiscible system Cu-Nb, the high-energy milling was successfully used to obtain the composite powder particles. Initially, the formation of composite particles during the HEM and the effect of preparation technique on the microstructure of the material was evaluated. Four loads of Nb and Cu powders containing 20%wt Cu were synthesized by MAE in a planetary type ball mill under different periods of grinding. The influence of grinding time on the metal particles is evaluated during the process by the withdrawal of samples at intermediate times of milling. After compaction under different forces, the samples were sintered in a vacuum furnace. The liquid phase sintering of these samples prepared by HEM produced a homogeneous and fine grained. The composite particles forming the sintered samples are the addition of a hard phase (Nb) with a high melting point, and a ductile phase (Cu) with low melting point and high thermal and electrical conductivities. Based on these properties, the Nb-Cu system is a potential material for many applications, such as electrical contacts, welding electrodes, coils for generating high magnetic fields, heat sinks and microwave absorbers, which are coupled to electronic devices. The characterization techniques used in this study, were laser granulometry, used to evaluate the homogeneity and particle size, and the X-ray diffraction, in the phase identification and to analyze the crystalline structure of the powders during milling. The morphology and dispersion of the phases in the composite powder particles, as well the microstructures of the sintered samples, were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Subsequently, the sintered samples are evaluated for density and densification. And finally, they were characterized by techniques of measuring the electrical conductivity and microhardness, whose properties are analyzed as a function of the parameters for obtaining the composite

Este estudio se realizó con el objeto de conocer el nivel de aflatoxina M1 (AFM1) presenteen quesillos artesanales comercializados en los mercados 9 de Octubre, 12 de Abril, 10 de Agosto y Feria Libre de la Ciudad de Cuenca mediante la técnica de Cromatografía Líquida de Alta Resolución (HPLC)y su grado de adecuación con la normativa de Brasilcorrespondiente a 2.5 ug/Kg de AFM1 en quesos. Se analizaron 33 muestras, donde 7 muestras fueron positivas de las cuales 4 estaban entre el límite de detección y cuantificación (0,04 – 0,08ug/kg), 3 fueron cuantificables, siendo la máxima concentración 0.83 ug/kg.Los valores de AFM1 fueron inferiores al límite máximo permitido por la normativa , por lo tanto, las distintas muestras de quesillos artesanales comercializados en los mercados 9 de Octubre, 12 de Abril, 10 de Agosto y Feria Libre de la Ciudad de Cuenca estudiadas en esta investigación podrían considerarse aptas para el consumo humanoen cuanto a exposición a AFM1.

The objective of the present work was evaluate two techniques of smoking, the hot traditional and with use of smoke natural aroma or "liquid smoke", having as control Perna perna mussels vapor cooked. Sensorial characteristics were appraised (appearance, color, aroma, texture, flavor and salt tenor) and yield processing. The experimental design was completely randomized with three treatments (T1 = smoked with liquid smoke; T2 = traditional smoked and T3 = just cooked, control), with nine repetitions. For sensorial analysis 30 people were used, where each one was considered a block. There was significant difference for processing performance among treatments (P<0.05), however there was not significant difference independent of smoked technique applied. Nevertheless, smoking technique using smoke natural aroma was more attractive, presenting better results with relationship to sensorial characteristics and final product packaged for commercialization.

O objetivo do experimento foi avaliar o efeito da defumação da tilápia do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus) inteira eviscerada e filé sobre as características organolépticas (aparência, aroma, cor, sabor, textura, teor de sal e aceitação geral), a porcentagem de perda de peso (PP) e composição centesimal. Foram comparados FP1 (peixe inteiro eviscerado, 5 horas de fumaça) e FP2 (filé, 4 horas de fumaça). Os peixes foram descamados, eviscerados, para obtenção de FP1 ou filetados por uma única pessoa, para obtenção de FP2, e então submetidos à salmouragem úmida (30%) e à defumação. O rendimento médio para FP1 e FP2 foi de 63,98 e 27,11%, respectivamente. O valor médio para porcentagem de perda de peso ocorrida na defumação para o filé (31,33%) foi superior ao peixe inteiro (27,04%). A análise sensorial revelou que o peixe inteiro teve melhor aceitação quanto ao sabor e teor de sal e não diferiu do filé quanto ao aroma, cor e textura. O processo de defumação reduziu o conteúdo de umidade e proporcionou aumento nos teores de proteína bruta, lipídios e cinzas. As perdas foram maiores para o filé, que apresentou maior teor de proteína bruta e menor teor de lipídios comparado ao peixe inteiro. Verificou-se também que o sabor do filé pode ser melhorado em função de uma correção na salmouragem.

Este trabalho descreve um método para determinação de paclobutrazol em amostras de manga. A extração foi feita em metanol e as análises por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência (CLAE), usando coluna de fase-reversa, C-18, fase móvel metanol/água 60:40, v/v, detecção e quantificação a 220 nm. Os seguintes parâmetros de validação foram obtidos: limite de detecção do método de 0,025 mg kg-1, limite de quantificação do método de 0,050 mg kg-1, linearidade de 0,100?5,00 mg L-1 (r2? 0,9994); recuperação de 82 a 92%, precisão intermediária (%RSD) < 12%, para paclobutrazol. O método mostrou ser simples, eficiente e confiável para a determinação de resíduos de paclobutrazol em amostras de manga.

Different brands and batches of brazilian regular and instant coffee were purchased in supermarkets of Campinas? city and analysed for caffeine content. The method used involved extraction with boiling water, clarification with saturated basic acetate and determination by high performance liquid cromatography. Analysis was carried out using a Model 6000 A solvent delivery system (Waters associates), and a Model 7125 sample injector system (Reodyne, Inc.) with a 5µl sample loop. The system was also equipped with a Waters Model M440 absorbance detector set at 254 nm. A Merck ODS 5µm column (15 cm x 4.6 mm i.d.) was used to separate the caffeine. The mobile phase was methanol:water (25:75, v/v). The caffeine content varied for different brands and types of coffee and according to the beverage preparation technique. Values in the range of 0.43 to 0.85 mg/ml and 0.61 to 0.82 mg/ml were determined in regular and instant coffee, respectively.
