A importância do estudo da paleontologia está no seu caráter integrador, reunindo conhecimentos de várias áreas, o que pode contribuir para que os alunos do ensino básico entendam a história da vida no planeta, encarando a evolução como um processo contínuo e bem evidenciado no qual também estamos inseridos. No contexto de pequena presença do ensino da paleontologia na Educação Básica, outros espaços de educação não formal ganham força na transmissão desses conhecimentos à população e, dentre estes espaços, na área da paleontologia, encontram-se as exposições de fósseis. Estas permitem que os conhecimentos desenvolvidos na universidade e que normalmente ficam restritos ao âmbito universitário sejam levadas ao conhecimento de um grande número de alunos, contribuindo para a formação e alfabetização científica. A partir desta perspectiva, o presente estudo teve como objetivo o desenvolvimento e a avaliação de uma exposição de fósseis e réplicas para os alunos do ensino básico da rede pública das escolas de Botucatu e região. Através dessa exposição, chamada Paleo Expo, pretendeu-se que os alunos conhecessem a história da vida na Terra, tivessem contato com os principais eventos evolutivos e entendessem a evolução como um processo contínuo e bem evidenciado, contribuindo para o enriquecimento dos conhecimentos dos visitantes, aguçando a curiosidade e gerando reflexões. A exposição, destinada a alunos de sexta a oitava series do ensino fundamental, priorizou a participação ativa dos alunos e contou também com atividades complementares, que consistiram em um jogo educativo e uma apresentação de informações sobre como são realizadas as pesquisas em paleontologia. Along with the advance of technology, in terms of the expansion of medical exams that uses the ionizing radiation for diagnosis, there is also the concern about quality control for maintaining quality in radiographic imaging and for delivering low dose to the patient. Based on the Federal Order 453 of the Secretariat of Health Surveillance, which takes account of the practical and justification of individual medical exposures, the optimization of radiological protection, limitation of individual dose, and the prevention of accidents, were done through this paper radiodiagnostic tests on medical equipment in order to accept it or not, according to SVS-453. Along with the help and support of P&R Consulting and Medical Physics Marilia, SP, were made Quality Control and Radiometric Control in equipment from various cities across the state of São Paulo. The equipment discussed in this work is classified as conventional X-ray. According to the Federal Order SVS-453, the quality control in the program of quality assurance should include the following minimum set of constancy tests, with following minimum frequency: biennial tests for representative values of dose given to the patients of radiography and CT performed in the service; annual tests for accuracy of the indicator tube voltage (kVp), accuracy of exposure time, half-value layer, aligning the central axis of the beam of x-ray tube, performance (mGy / mA.min.m²), linearity of the rate of kerma on air with the mAs, reproducibility of the kerma on air rates, reproducibility of the automatic exposure, focal spot size, integrity of accessories and clothing for individual protection; semiannually for collimation system accuracy; weekly for temperature processing system and sensitometry processing system. The 131I (radioactive iodine) is one of the most used radionuclides in nuclear medicine for diagnosis and treatment. The present study evaluates the dosimetric aspects related to radioiodine therapy after thyroidectomy in patients with thyroid cancer. The samples were studied with 50 patients undergoing treatment, by assessing the exposures of workers (nursing assistants, staff hygiene, medical and physical), the general public (accompanying and family members) and on the environment. To evaluate the workers, was made a survey of the environmental conditions of the room radioiodine and routines adopted by them during the treatment period. Estimating the dose equivalent per month for each employee, we observed that the maximum levels obtained for nursing assistants, the team of hygiene, medical and physicians were considered low in relation to the extent permitted by law. In order to assess the public, some situations have been suggested for the calculation of equivalent doses in which it was possible to verify the fundamental importance of isolating the patient in the 2 days first. Regarding the environment, the radioactive waste generated by patient had volume of 1.0 m3 and activity estimated at 0.91 mCi, taking a decay time for eliminating them about 75 days to reach the allowable value of 2 μCi / kg system of collecting garbage. Therefore, all radioactive waste removed from the patient's room should be sent to the warehouse for temporary storage of radioactive waste, located away from normal work areas

In the present paper, it is presented a general view about who they are and the activities science centers and museums mediators develop. The literature points out to the diverse roles attributed to these actors and that the presence of this type of professional is a consolidated practice in non-formal educational institutions. Data obtained among the mediators of a science center during mediated school visits are also presented and discussed, focusing in the role attributed to these professionals, with the objective of characterizing their actions during these visits. The data obtained and analyzed showed that during school visits, the roles that are attributed to the mediators are: (a) mediation of the knowledge involved in the expositions; (b) explanation of the scientific concepts involved in the expositions; (c) presentation of the thematic spaces; (d) reception and organization of groups of visitors; (e) preservation of the physical and moral integrity of the visitors, and the integrity of the physical spaces and their equipments; (f) complementation of the school knowledge, and (g) diffusion of the scientific knowledge.

Presented in a rehearsal form, this article aims to bring out a historical discussion about the relationship between art-madness in Brazil. Result of a research that had as object the critical fortune written on the first exhibit of the Museum of Images of the Unconscious, this work aims to connect two little closer fields: art criticism and mental health, especially since Mário Pedrosa’s work. It was possible to ascertain, throughout the investigation, that there was a position taken by art critics at that time (the 1940s), that position is basically divided into two, briefly explored here: those who encouraged the exhibits, and thereby attested the artistic value of the work produced in the studio of Pedro II Psychiatric Center (where it was founded the Museum); and those who decried the artistic character of "unconscious images", as would be known the works that were produced there. Thus, we can say that, indeed, the virgin art – so entitled by Pedrosa – functioned as a kind of sting to the renewal of our health practices, but mainly influenced the completion of a cycle of modernism in our country.

The article seeks to reflect from a visual history of the elaboratión imaginary political and national identities and transnational comparative perspective between Brazil and Mexico in the first half of the twentieth century. The main focus is Mexican participation in the exhibition commemorating the centennial of Brazilian independence in 1922 and the dialogues in the film industry of both countries in the second half of the 1940s and beginning of 1950s.

Each year individuals have sought a better quality of life and work, in this case, the science of Bio-insurance needs to keep up with technological advances and the needs of society to minimize or eliminate the risks of accidents. This study evaluated the most common accidents involving health staff from 2007 to 2011 in Araçatuba-SP. 478 accidents were recorded, and 78.7% with percutaneous involvement, 9% with intact skin, 4% with no skin intact, with 7.3 mucous and 1.05% other types of exposures. Most accidents were caused by needles with lumen (68.0%), followed by other agents (14.1%), accidents with blades (8.5%) or needles without lumen (5.5%); 3.7% did not answer and 0.2% were accidents with glasses. When checking the condition in which the accident occurred, 26.0% did not specify, 25.1% occurred in the disposal and / or handling sharp objects, 12.0% at the time of drug administration, 6.9% puncture, 3.7% occurred during recapping the needle. These data show that the most common accidents are those involving needles with lumen and / or sharp objects and due to these factors, the industry of health materials have sought alternatives to minimize such accidents as needles with protective, vacuum collection . Thus, it appears that reporting accidents is important for the development of technical and / or safer materials for patients and health workers.

This paper presents some results of MFI and OIT tests performed on HDPE geomembranes of 0,8 and 2,5 mm that were exposed to weathering effects and leachate after 30 months (2,5 years). The aim of this work is the evaluation of the oxidative degradation process by comparison of fresh and exposed samples results. The expositing and tests were performed according the following standards recommendations: ASTM D1435 (weathering), ASTM D5747 e D5322 (leachate), ASTM D1238 (MFI) e D3895 (OIT). The results shows, for instance, that the MFI values presented high increases on the HDPE (2.5 mm) showing that polymeric chain break occurred for both exposures and, therefore, oxidative degradation. Concerning the OIT values all the geomembranes presented very low values even in the fresh samples. This demonstrates that there wasn’t an antioxidant package appropriate for these membranes.
