This work aims to study the Dual-Phase 600 and 780 steels, which are part of technology development project materials for the automotive industry. It is worth underscoring the antagonistic properties as the Dual-Phase steel assemble, high mechanical strength and elongation due its microstructure, ferrite and martensite. These properties are obtained by a intercritical heat treatment which facilitates the formation of a hardness metastable microstructure shaped plates of low carbon steels. The applicability of Dual Phase steel in the structure of vehicles is huge and its production is already on a commercial scale, so the study and development of this material implies lower cost in automobile manufacturing processes. The dual phase steels DP600 and DP780 underwent tensile, hardness and metallographic analysis to evaluate and comparing its properties. The results indicate that the DP780 steel has higher strength and hardness than the DP600 steel and its microstructure consists of martensite higher fraction which accounts for the higher resistance and hardness. However, the DP600 has higher conformability to DP780 steel

This paper aimes to contribute to the analyzes of Caldas and Wood Jr (1997) concerning to the concept of identity. That concept has been developed in Organization Studies under the propositions of Albert and Whetten (1985). In that way, identity concept has been defined by the following characteristics: centrality, distinctiveness and continuity. Nevertheless, a new paradigm has been emerging within social science. In this paper, we present a synthesis on how the concept of identity has been discussed in Social Psychology and Cultural Studies. For both theoretical perspectives, the ideas of centrality and durability are put into doubt, as identity is seen as dynamic and fragmentary. Besides that, we intend to show how the new paradigm is getting formed within Organizational Studies, especially considering international context. Considering that the emerging organizational ideas concerning identity show proximity with those proposed by Social Psychology and Cultural Studies, we raise possible questions that the new paradigm will have to face.

Over the last few years, new technologies have been developed to making cavity preparations, among which the diamond burs CVDentus® (CVDentus, São José dos Campos, Brazil) are outstanding. These points are produced by chemical deposition from the vapor phase, forming a single diamond stone, with greater durability than the conventional diamond burs. Coupled to the ultrasound appliance, they have several clinical applications in Dentistry with advantages over conventional rotary instruments, such as lower pressure, noise, vibration and heat, as well as reducing the need to use local anesthesia, contributing to minimize patient’s fear and anxiety. The aim of this study was to present the complete restorative dental treatment performed with this system in a child patient with a prior history of non-cooperative behavior. The use of this new technology offered the patient greater comfort, making it possible recondition the patient’s attitude to dental treatment, in addition to favoring conservative cavity preparations to be made.

A Murraya paniculata, é conhecida popularmente como murta-de-cheiro ou falsamurta, pertence à família Rutaceae e é uma espécie nativa da Índia que foi introduzida no Brasil. Essa espécie é utilizada na arborização de ruas e em jardins das cidades graças à copa densa e sua resistência a condições adversas. Pode ser utilizada também para formação de cerca vivas e, sua madeira branca tem alta durabilidade podendo ser utilizada em marcenarias. Na Ásia, esta espécie é considerada medicinal e as folhas e raízes são utilizadas para o tratamento de problemas intestinais, de reumatismo e tosse. Do ponto de vista químico, esta espécie acumula principalmente cumarinas e flavonóides, além de derivados do ácido cinâmico e alcalóides. No presente trabalho propomos determinar as temperaturas cardeais para a germinação de sementes de Murraya paniculata, além disso, analisamos a influência do teor de água na germinação para determinar se as sementes são recalcitrantes ou ortodoxas, e a influencia do potencial hídrico induzido por polietilenoglicol (PEG 6000). O aprofundamento dos estudos dessa espécie se faz importante por conta desta ser hospedeira alternativa do psilídeo Diaphorina citri, transmissor do ―greening‖ dos citros, doença que diminuiu a produção de citros nos últimos anos

Despite the great development of organic and polymeric electroluminescent materials, the large scale commercial application of devices made with these materials seems conditioned to specific cases, mainly due to the high cost and the low durability, in compared to conventional technologies. In this study was produced electroluminescent devices by a process simple, drop casting. Were produced electroluminescent films containing Zn2SiO4:Mn immersed in a conductive polymer blend with different thicknesses. The morphological characteristics of these films were studied by scanning electronic microscopy. These films were used in the manufacture of electroluminescent devices, in which the light emission properties of the developed material were evaluated. The blend was composed of the conductive polymer Poly(o-methoxyaniline), doped with p-toluene sulfonic acid, and an insulating polymer, Poly(vinylidene fluoride) and its copolymer Poly(vinylidene fluoride-cotrifluoroethylene). To this blend was added Zn2SiO4:Mn, thereby forming the composite. A first set of devices was obtained using composites with different weight fraction of polymeric and inorganic phases, which were deposited by drop casting over ITO substrates. Upper electrodes of aluminum were deposited by thermal evaporation. The resulting device architecture was a sandwich type structure ITO/ composite/ Al. A second set of devices was obtained as self-sustaining films using the best composite composition obtained for the device of the first set. ITO electrodes were deposited by RF-Sputtering, in both faces of these films. The AC electrical characterization of the devices was made with impedance spectroscopy measurements, and the DC electrical characterization was performed using a source/ meter unit Keithley 2410. Among the harmful health agents, it is given to the noise, one of the most present in urban and social environments. There are efficient measures to control the noise and the auricular Individual Protection Equipment (IPEa) is the most used. It has been observed the shortage in the comfortable and functional individual auditory protection products, related to durability, face to the efficiency right of the equipment. The main objective of this study was to recognize if there is effectiveness loss toward the used time on the Auditory Equipment, intra-auricular Individual Protection, of foam (3M), model 1110. It has been verified that the equipments suffer efficiency alteration according to the time of use, and the material consuming initiates reliable loss, mainly in audible frequencies going up to 100Hz, and from 16 days for sonorous pressure suffered started in 101dB 20Hz. For sonorous pressure suffered from 107dB to 20Hz, the reliable loss for the usage was of 8 days. The IPEas do not lose effectiveness on important attenuation by the daily use in frequencies from 1KHz until 20KHz. It has been concluded that there is effectiveness loss, according to the daily and frequent use of the IPEa studied.

Três tipos de diamantes foram observados neste trabalho, para determinar qual apresenta a melhor relação entre desgaste e tempo de vida de um dressador de ponta única. A metodologia empregou o dressamento de um rebolo de óxido de alumíno e, a cada vinte passes, com avanço da profundidade de dressagem de 40 μm por passe, registrou uma imagem da ponta da ferramenta em um estereoscópio. O dressador foi então recolocado na retificadora para a realização de novas dressagens até o fim de vida do diamante. O critério para o fim do ensaio foi o faiscamento gerado pelo contato do rebolo com a base do dressador. Foram realizados três ensaios para cada tipo de diamante. O Mato Grosso apresentou os maiores desgastes de área, e o Brasil Extra, o menor. O CVD nacional teve desempenho parecido com o do Brasil Extra, mas com tempo maior de dressagem nos ensaios. Ou seja, apresentou baixo desgaste e durabilidade maior.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of gamma irradiation associated with modified atmosphere in cold storage of guava ‘Pedro Sato’ minimally processed, checking their physical-chemical characteristics. Were used guavas from the region of Vista Alegre do Alto/São Paulo/Brazil. After harvest, fruits were immediately transported to the Fruit and Vegetables Laboratory from the Agroindustrial Management and Technology Department, Agronomic Sciences College - UNESP - Botucatu / SP, where they were kept at 10 ° C and 90-95% RH in cold storage, for 12 days. In the laboratory, fruits were selected by size and lack of defects in order to standardize the lot and then were cut into slices 0.5 cm thick. We used the completely randomized design, with factorial design 5 x 5, with three replications. The first factor consisted of the following effects: control 1 (without package or irradiation), control 2 (polystyrene package/PS + package low density polyethylene/LDPE and without irradiation), treatment 1 (PS + LDPE and 0.2 kGy ), treatment 2 (PS + LDPE and 0.6 kGy) and treatment 3 (PS + LDPE and 1.0 kGy). The second factor consisted of the evaluation periods: 0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 days. The analyses were: firmness, soluble solids (SS), titratable acidity (TA), maturity index, pH, breathing behavior. In the end of this work it was concluded that the lower dose of radiation associated with modified atmosphere promoted positive effect on physical-chemical characteristics of guava ‘Pedro Sato’, providing fruits with higher quality and durability, due to higher maintenance of pulp firmness, the highest pH and soluble solids obtained. Regarding the storage days, there were no beneficial effect of the treatments during storage, mainly due to the sensitivity of fruits submitted to gamma irradiation, where only the early days provided better values for the variables.

This work deals with the continuation of Scientific Initiation research initiated by Tamura (2012), which draws up a mixture of soil and recycled aggregate analysis for paving of low traffic volume roads using local materials from the Vale do Paraíba region. The main steps of the process were the soil and recycled aggregate characterization, along with grading tests and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) applied to the soil, the recycled aggregate and the mixture of soil and recycled aggregate; aiming their use as base and sub-base in paving urban roads. The results are discussed, emphasizing the mechanical behavior. The current results are compared with the results of IC Tamura research, taking decisions over this job to the final product best result. For a greater understanding of the work in general were described paving, its structure, its components and its physical behavior. It has been intended to emphasize the importance of the mixture of soil and recycled aggregate to meet the quality requirements and compliance with the specifications of current technical standards, in the context of durability, natural materials economy, decreases volume in landfills and cost reduction

The current lubricants are getting better with advancing technology and more specific to each case of application. Its use is directly linked to the level of waste by friction generated between objects in direct contact and it is essential to promote greater durability of mechanical components. This study refers to behavioral assessment of some types of lubricants and rank among them which one presents the lowest friction between metal components. For this work, will be used the method of ring compression test (RCT), after performed tests and analyzed the results, will be possible to report which lubricant will bring the best reduction in friction. The need for this work was given initially by the observation that some mechanical projects developed at FEG does not conduct in-depth studies the lubricants used. Therefore this study aims to provide better support to these projects. In this work were used five different lubricants, three oils and two greases.
