The letter begins with discussion of Xmas gifts. Arthur is sending a German helmet souvenir and Eleanore Celeste plans to put it in their den. She then talks about Spanish influenza spreading "there are hundreds of new cases reported every day..." This letter is labelled number 201.

The letter talks about an evening playing pinochle and hang man with Gus. Eleanore Celeste then describes her plans for the next couple of days. This letter is labelled number 26.

Eleanore Celeste describes her previous day: Studies, shopping for Mother, bridge party, out with girls and Uncle Dick. They attended the play "pearls" starring Robert Edison. The rest of the letter is written on New Year's Eve at twelve o'clock. She recounts last New Year's Eve.

Eleanore Celeste received a book from Arthur for Christmas, entitled "The Ruling Passion" by Henry Van Dyke. This appears to be early in their relationship because she signs the letter "Celeste".

Eleanore Celeste describes a day of shopping and purchases for their home. The letter is labelled number 83.

Eleanore Celeste discusses the ice breaker ship that travels to Quebec. Arthur has asked if the boat will travel the first trip soon and she responds that she is not sure if it will make the trip, but will wait until the New Year to find out more. She mentions that Arthur is going to buy her a fur for her Christmas gift. The letters are labelled number 78 & 79.

It is unknown when the Montcalm will sail the Gulf of the St. Lawrence, so Eleanore Celeste waits to travel to Arthur in Shelter Bay. She visited with Mother Schmon after taking her own Mother to the dentist. The letter is labelled number 69.

A letter to John Diefenbaker from Sean O'Sullivan in regards to a position working for the Diefenbaker campaign. O'Sullivan does not ask for any special consideration, but does remark on his experience thus far.

Letter - Mrs. Olive Diefenbaker to Sean O'Sullivan, 6 December 1966

A handwritten letter from Olive Diefenbaker to Sean O'Sullivan, 6 December 1966. Mrs. Diefenbaker remarks about a phone call she received from a Hamiltonian who had met O'Sullivan at "the Convention" and had "'tried to help him over his disillusion"'. Mrs. Diefenbaker took offense to the comments and responded to the individual "I wouldn't worry about Sean. He is mature and wise, and will think his way through like the rest of us".

Letter - Victor K. Copps to Sean O'Sullivan, 9 December 1963

A letter from Hamilton Mayor, Victor K. Copps, stating that he received a letter from Mr. O'Sullivan inviting him to a show at his school. Mr. O'Sullivan would have been about 11 years at the time. The Mayor plans to attend the show at his school and thanks Mr. O'Sullivan for the invitation.

Contract between John Cronyn and Nelson Forsyth, December 16, 1854.

John Cronyn (1827-1898) emigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1837. He studied medicine at the University of Toronto, but was not granted his degree upon completion of the requirements. He refused to take the test oaths meant to exclude Catholics from the profession and was not granted his degree until several years later, when the discriminatory laws were rescinded. In 1850, he married Elizabeth Willoughby of Toronto. They settled in Fort Erie and he established a successful medical practice there. He was active in the community, serving as Superintendent of schools and one term as Reeve. In 1859 he relocated to Buffalo and continued to practice medicine there. Cronyn was instrumental in the establishment of a medical department at Niagara University, where he was a professor and president of faculty. Nelson Forsyth was the son of William Forsyth (1771-1841), a prominent businessman in Niagara who owned and operated the Pavilion Hotel (later known as Forsyth’s Inn). Nelson was also a businessman and lived in Fort Erie with his wife Archange Warren.

A brief letter from Sean O'Sullivan to Richard Nixon, 20 December 1975. O'Sullivan thanks Nixon for a meeting they had in San Clemente, California. O'Sullivan remarks "It is my hope that the future will permit us to work towards the goal of a lasting Peace -- a goal to which you have already made such an outstanding contribution".
