We study the effect of bound nucleon form factors on charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering. The bound nucleon form factors of the vector and axial-vector currents are calculated in the quark-meson coupling model. We compute the inclusive C-12(nu(mu),mu(-))X cross sections using a relativistic Fermi gas model with the calculated bound nucleon form factors. The effect of the bound nucleon form factors for this reaction is a reduction of similar to8% for the total cross section, relative to that calculated with the free nucleon form factors.

Using the integrability conditions that we recently obtained in two-dimensional QCD with massless fermions we arrive at a sufficient number of conservation laws to fix the scattering amplitudes involving a local version of the Wilson loop operator.

The Cornwall-Norton model is studied in the strong-coupling regime. It is shown that the fermionic self-energy at large momenta behaves as SIGMA(p) approximately (m2/p)ln(p/m). We verify that in the strong-coupling phase the dynamically generated masses of gauge and scalar bosons are of the same order, and the essential features of the model remain intact.

A system constituted of three bosons interacting via two-body separable potentials with fixed two-boson binding is known to lead to bound-state collapse in the case where the potential parameters allow two-boson S-matrix poles close to (resonance) and on (continuum bound state) the real momentum axis. The collapse is shown to be accompanied by an increase in the average kinetic energy of the two-body bound state, which signals a decrease in the range of the two-body interaction for fixed two-body binding. The collapse is claimed to be a manifestation of the well-known Thomas effect which leads to a collapse of the three-body system when the range of the two-body interaction goes to zero for a fixed two-body binding.

A possible way of producing gravitons in the laboratory is investigated. We evaluate the cross section for electron + photon --> electron + graviton in the framework of linearized gravitation, and analyze this reaction considering the photon coming either from a laser beam or from a Compton backscattering process.

The SU(3)cxSU(3)LxU(1)N model of Pisano and Pleitez extends the standard model in a particularly nice way, so that, for example, the anomalies cancel only when the number of generations is divisible by 3. The original version of the model has some problems accounting for the lepton masses. We resolve this problem by modifying the details of the symmetry-breaking sector in the model.

We recently proposed a QCD Pomeron described by the exchange of two nonperturbative gluons characterized by a dynamically generated gluon mass. It is shown here that data on elastic scattering, exclusive rho production in deep inelastic scattering, and the J/psi-nucleon total cross section can be successfully described in terms of a single gluon mass m(g) congruent-to 0.37 GeV. We observe that the total cross sections of hadrons with small radii, such as J/psi, have a marked dependence on the effective gluon mass.

The behavior of uniformly accelerated detectors in the Minkowski and Rindler vacua is analyzed when the detector is coupled to a scalar field during a finite amount of time T. We point out that the logarithmic ultraviolet divergences reported in the literature are due to the instantaneous switching of the detector. We explicitly show this by considering a detector switched on and off continuously. The usual Planckian spectrum for the excitation probability is recovered in the limit T --> infinity.
