The paper presents a vector model for a Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM). The BDFM has 4 and 8 pole stator windings and a nested-loop rotor cage. The rotor cage has six nests equally spaced around the circumference and each nest comprises three loops. All the rotor loops are short circuited via a common end-ring at one end. The vector model is derived based on the electrical equations of the machine and appropriate vector transformations. In contrast to the stator, there is no three phase circuit in the rotor. Therefore, the vector transformations suitable for three phase circuits can not be utilised for the rotor circuit. A new vector transformation is employed for the rotor circuit quantities. The approach presented in this paper can be extended for a BDFM with any stator poles combination and any number of loops per nest. Simulation results from the model implemented in Simulink are presented. © 2008 IEEE.

The most widespread vibration measurement on musical instrument bodies is of the point mobility at the bridge. Analysis of such measurements is presented, with a view to assessing what range of information could feasibly be extracted from the corpus of data. Analysis approaches include (1) pole-residue extraction; (2) damping trend analysis based on time decay information; (3) statistical estimates based on SEA power-balance and variance theory. Comparative results are shown for some key quantities. Damping trends with frequency are shown to have unexpectedly different forms for violins and for guitars. Linear averaging to estimate the "direct field" component gives a simple and clear visualisation of any local resonance behaviour near the bridge, such as the "bridge hill", and reveals some violins that show a double hill, while viols show only weak hills, and guitars none at all. © S. 1997— 2 0 0 0年在长江三峡库区的巴南和万州江段共监测 1 2 92船次 ,统计渔获物40 96.38kg,生物学测定 2 4 64尾 ,共采集鱼类 30种 ,分属 8科 2 4属。目前库区渔获物组成和结构与 2 0世纪 70年代相比发生了较大变化 ,白甲鱼、中华倒刺、岩原鲤等在渔获物中比例已经很少 ,铜鱼资源也明显下降 ,、鳡、等在渔获物中已基本消失 ,而南方鲇、鲤、黄颡鱼等比例相对上升 ,渔获物中高龄鱼个体减少 ,低龄鱼及幼鱼个体比重增加。与 70年代资料相比 ,三峡库区鱼类资源已呈衰

自 1996年 3月至 1998年 12月 ,作者采用放射免疫分析法每月 1次测定雄性白豚 (Lipotesvexillifer)“淇淇”血清睾酮浓度。春季每天 1次 ,其它季节每三天 1次 ,每次 1h ,用目标动物取样法观察“淇淇”的行为。结果发现 ,性自慰 (腹面贴池壁、伸出阴茎 )行为的发生频率和血清睾酮激素水平都有周期性变化 ,春季为高峰期 ,秋季有 1个小峰 ,性自慰行为与血清睾酮激素浓度两者的周期较为一致。从性自慰行为和血清睾酮激素水平季节变化 ,推测出“淇淇”性腺活动的周期性变化 ,活动

Ring rolling is an established method to produce seamless rings of different cross-sectional geometries. For dish shaped rings, there are applications in different areas such as offshore, aeronautics or the energy sector. At the moment, dish shaped rings are produced by machining of rings with rectangular shaped cross section, by (open die) hollow forging on a conical mandrel or by using shaped ring rolling tools. These ways of manufacturing have the disadvantage of high material waste, additional costs for special tools, long process time and limited or inflexible geometries. Therefore, the manufacturing of dish shaped rings on conventional radial-axial ring rolling mills would expand the range of products for ring producers. The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of an alternative to the current manufacturing processes, without requiring additional tooling and material costs. Therefore, the intended formation of dish shaped rings-previously regarded as a form error-is investigated. Based on an analysis of geometrical requirements and metal flow mechanisms, a rolling strategy is presented, causing dishing and ring climbing by a large height reduction of the ring. Using this rolling strategy dish shaped rings with dishing angles up to 18° were achieved. In addition to the experiments finite element method (FEM)-simulations of the process have been successfully conducted, in order to analyze the local strain evolution. However, when the contact between ring and main roll is lost in the process the ring starts to oscillate around the mandrel and neither dishing nor ring climbing is observed. © 2013 German Academic Society for Production Engineering (WGP).

Two ciliated protozoa, Balantidium sinensis Nie 1935 and Balantidium andianusi n. sp., were isolated from the feces of a wild Chinese giant salamander (Andrias davidianus) captured from the mountainous area of Shiyan, Hubei Province, Central China in October 2006. It is the first report of Balantidium species inhabiting Cryptobranchoidea amphibians. The occurrence of B. sinensis in A. davidianus should be a new record because the type specimens were first discovered and named by Nie in 1935 from Rana nigromaculata and Rana plancyi. For the lack of enough descriptions of taxonomic features in the previous report, it was re-described in detail and compared with Nie's type specimens and B. giganteum to complete the morphological descriptions in the present work. B. andianusi n. sp. was considered to be a new species based on its unique morphological characteristics, especially the high length/width ratio of the vestibulum (8:1). Comparisons were also made among Balantidium species that were found from urodele amphibians.

The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of the Chinese hook snout carp, Opsariichthys bidens, was newly determined using the long and accurate polymerase chain reaction method. The 16,611-nucleotide mitogenome contains 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNA genes (12S, 16S) 22 tRNA genes, and a noncoding control region. We use these data and homologous sequence data from multiple other ostariophysan fishes in a phylogenetic evaluation to test hypothesis pertaining to codon usage pattern of O. bidens mitochondrial protein genes as well as to re-examine the ostariophysan phylogeny. The mitochondrial genome of O. bidens reveals an alternative pattern of vertebrate mitochondrial evolution. For the mitochondrial protein genes of O. bidens, the most frequently used codon generally ends with either A or C, with C preferred over A for most fourfold degenerate codon families; the relative synonymous codon usage of G-ending codons is greatly elevated in all categories. The codon usage pattern of O. bidens mitochondrial protein genes is remarkably different from the general pattern found previously in the relatively closely 9 related zebrafish and most other vertebrate mitochondria. Nucleotide bias at third codon positions is the main cause of codon bias in the mitochondrial protein genes of O. bidens, as it is biased particularly in favor of C over A. Bayesian analysis of 12 concatenated mitochondrial protein sequences for O. bidens and 46 other teleostean taxa supports the monophyly of Cypriniformes and Otophysi and results in a robust estimate of the otophysan phylogeny. Eu2+ doped ZnS nanocrystals exhibit new luminescence properties because of the enlarged energy gap of nanocrystalline ZnS host due to quantum confinement effects. Photoluminescence emission at about 520 nm from Eu2+ doped ZnS nanocrystals at room temperature is investigated by using photoluminescence emission and excitation spectroscopy. Such green emission with long lifetime (ms) is proposed to be a result of excitation, ionization, carriers recapture and recombination via Eu2+ centers in nanocrystalline ZnS host.
