Flurförderzeuge sind aufgrund ihrer Einsatzbedingungen und konstruktiven Merkmale besonderen Beanspruchungen ausgesetzt. Diese elektrischen, mechanischen und thermischen Beanspruchungen unterscheiden sich teilweise deutlich von denen anderer Fahrzeuge wie Personenwagen oder mobilen Baumaschinen. Um Auslegungs- und Dimensionierungsrichtlinien für die im Flurförderzeug verbauten elektronischen Komponenten zu erarbeiten, wurden an einem Schubmaststapler die auf ausgewählte Komponenten einwirkenden Beanspruchungen aufgezeichnet und umfangreich ausgewertet. In verschiedenen Prüfstandsuntersuchungen wurden die angenommenen Beanspruchungen unter Laborbedingungen nachgestellt, um das Verhalten der Elektronikkomponenten näher zu betrachten und Ausfallcharakteristiken, wie beispielsweise die Zusammenhänge zwischen Belastungshöhe und Belastungshäufigkeit bis zum Ausfall, abzuleiten.

At the Chair of Logistics Engineering, TU Dresden, a particular focus is research and development of magnetic traction sheaves. Therein the main fundamentals of these special sheaves are determined for applications in different fields such as elevators, several kinds of winches, hoists and cranes. In the current research project “energy balance of magnetic traction sheaves”, the dynamic behaviour of systems with magnetic traction sheaves was investigated. The research focused on theoretical and practical examinations of energy balance. Moreover, a new approach for dimensioning magnetic traction sheave systems is presented. It is a project of the Research Foundation Intralogistics / Material Handling and Logistics (IFL), which is funded through the AiF under the program of Industrial Collective Research for SMEs (IGF) by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).

Sidexflexing plastic chains are used increasingly in material handling due to their highly flexible conveying design and layout options. These systems are often equipped with so called modular belts. Due to their specific force transmission, detailed calculation methods are not yet available. In the following, a generally valid calculation approach is derived and its difference to existing solutions shown by examples.

An der Professur für Technische Logistik werden endliche Zahnriemen mit Stahlcord beim Einsatz als Tragmittel untersucht, um grundsätzliche Aussagen zur Lebensdauer zu erhalten.

Die Bestimmung der Leistungsverfügbarkeit als Maß für den Erfüllungsgrad logistischer Prozesse erfolgt gewöhnlich während des Betriebes einer logistischen Anlage. Wir haben ein Simulationssystem entwickelt, um die Leistungsverfügbarkeit einer zellularen intralogistischen Anlage schon im Vorfeld ermitteln zu können. Die detailgenaue Simulation erfasst dabei nicht nur Einflüsse statischer Parameter wie Dimensionierung der Anlage sondern auch dynamische Parameter, wie Fahrzeugverhalten oder Auftragszusammensetzung. Aufgrund der Echtzeit- und VR-Fähigkeit des vorgestellten Systems, ist eine Präsentation in einer VR-Umgebung möglich. Intuitive Interaktionsmechanismen und Visualisierungs-Metaphern bieten einen intuitiven Zugang zur Leistungsverfügbarkeit des Systems und den Größen, die sie beeinflussen.

The main goals of this study were to identifythe alpine torrent catchments that are sensitive to climatic changes and to assess the robustness of the methods for the elaboration of flood and debris flow hazard zone maps to specific effects of climate changes. In this study, a procedure for the identification and localization of torrent catchments in which the climate scenarios will modify the hazard situation was developed. In two case studies, the impacts of a potential increase of precipitation intensities to the delimited hazard zones were studied. The identification and localization of the torrent and river catchments, where unfavourable changes in the hazard situation occur, could eliminate speculative and unnecessary measures against the impacts of climate changes like a general enlargement of hazard zones or a general over dimensioning of protection structures for the whole territory. The results showed a high spatial variability of the sensitivity of catchments to climate changes. In sensitive catchments, the sediment management in alpine torrents will meet future challenges due to a higher rate for sediment removal from retention basins. The case studies showed a remarkable increase of the areas affected by floods and debris flow when considering possible future precipitation intensities in hazard mapping. But, the calculated increase in extent of future hazard zones lay within the uncertainty of the methods used today for the delimitation of the hazard zones. Thus, the consideration of the uncertainties laying in the methods for the elaboration of hazard zone maps in the torrent and river catchments sensitive to climate changes would provide a useful instrument for the consideration of potential future climate conditions. The study demonstrated that weak points in protection structures in future will become more important in risk management activities.

El trabajo parte de la reflexión sobre los vínculos entre capitalismo global y urbanización, específicamente de las transformaciones producidas en los territorios metropolitanos en las últimas dos décadas. En particular, se observa la difusión de urbanizaciones cerradas de tipo polderizado -UCP-, nuevas formas de producción de ámbitos residenciales en los bordes del aglomerado metropolitano de Buenos Aires, cuyo despliegue supone una demanda extensiva de suelo sobre áreas de gran valor patrimonial y fragilidad ambiental, como los humedales de la cuenca baja del Río Luján. Desde esta perspectiva, el trabajo aporta elementos que permiten realizar una caracterización y dimensionamiento del fenómeno, sobre la base de un relevamiento exhaustivo de variables consideradas esenciales por el estudio a partir del cruce de bases de datos de organismos públicos, información periodística y sitios web de desarrolladores inmobiliarios del sector.

This paper describes the extraordinary difficulties met in gauging glacier streams and establishes criteria that have to be fulfilled for a correct determination of glacier run off. Discussion of the hydraulic principles of gauging in tranquil and rapid flow shows why the latter is to be favored for glacier streams.The concept of the station at Vernagtbach, the original stream bed, considerations ofproper dimensioning and characteristics of the construction of the gauging channel aredescribed in detail. A brief history is given of planning, organization and technology involved.The water level is recorded by two floats and one pneumatie gauge which together provide uninterrupted and trouble-free records. The rating curve was determined with current meters and shows an unambiguous relation between water level and discharge with little scattering of calibration values. Temporary changes of flow conditions upstream of the station do not have any noticeable effect on the water level in the channel.The discharge records of the summers 1974-1976 are presented and discussed. The maximum mean summer discharge was 1.33 m**3/s in June-September 1975; extreme mean monthly discharge was found in July 1976 with 2.51 m**3/s, the highest daily mean was 4.76 m**3/s and the maximum hourly mean was found at 7.23 m**3/s. The discharge conditions of the summers of 1974 and 1975 are very similar, while in the summer of 1976 they differed completely as far as seasonal and mean daily hydrographs are concerned: in 1975, 42 % of summer discharge was recorded in June and July compared to 76 % in 1976. The analysis of the hydrographs gives valuable clues to the mass and heat balances of the glacier.

Este proyecto consiste en el dimensionamiento del proceso de licuación de una planta offshore para la producción de gas natural licuado, usando únicamente N2 como refrigerante, evitando de este modo riesgos potenciales que podrían surgir con el uso de refrigerantes mixtos compuestos de hidrocarburos. El proceso ha sido diseñado para acomodar 35,23 kg/s (aproximadamente un millón de toneladas por año) de gas natural seco, sin separación de gases licuados de petróleo (GLP) y ajustarlo dentro de los parámetros requeridos en las especificaciones del proceso. Para proceder al dimensionamiento del proceso de licuación de gas natural de la planta se ha empleado el programa Aspen Plus. Los sistemas floating production, storage and offloading para licuar el gas natural (LNG-FPSO), es una nueva unidad conceptual y un modo realista y efectivo para la explotación, recuperación, almacenamiento, transporte y agotamiento de los campos marginales de gas y las fuentes de gas asociadas offshore. En el proyecto se detalla el proceso, equipos necesarios y costes estimados, potencia aproximada requerida y un breve análisis económico. ABSTRACT This project consist of the dimensioning of a liquefaction process in an offshore plant to produce liquefied natural, using only N2 as refrigerant in the cooling cycles to avoid potential hazards of mixed hydrocarbon refrigerants. The process was designed to accommodate 35.23 kg/s (roughly 1 MTPA) of raw natural gas feed without separation of LPG, and fits within all parameters required in the process specifications. The plant has been designed with the computer tool Aspen Plus. The floating production, storage and offloading system for liquefied natural gas (LNGFPSO), is a new conceptual unit and an effective and realistic way for exploitation, recovery, storage, transportation and end-use applications of marginal gas fields and offshore associated-gas resources. The following report details the process, equipment needs and estimated costs, approximated power requirements, and a brief economic analysis.

Many efforts have been made in order to adequate the production of a solar thermal collector field to the consumption of domestic hot water of the inhabitants of a building. In that sense, much has been achieved in different domains: research agencies, government policies and manufacturers. However, most of the design rules of the solar plants are based on steady state models, whereas solar irradiance, consumption and thermal accumulation are inherently transient processes. As a result of this lack of physical accuracy, thermal storage tanks are sometimes left to be as large as the designer decides without any aforementioned precise recommendation. This can be a problem if solar thermal systems are meant to be implemented in nowadays buildings, where there is a shortage of space. In addition to that, an excessive storage volume could not result more efficient in many residential applications, but costly, extreme in space consumption and in some cases too heavy. A proprietary transient simulation program has been developed and validated with a detailed measurement campaign in an experimental facility. In situ environmental data have been obtained through a whole year of operation. They have been gathered at intervals of 10 min for a solar plant of 50 m2 with a storage tank of 3 m3, including the equipment for domestic hot water production of a typical apartment building. This program has been used to obtain the design and dimensioning criteria of DHW solar plants under daily transient conditions throughout a year and more specifically the size of the storage tank for a multi storey apartment building. Comparison of the simulation results with the current Spanish regulation applicable, “Código Técnico de la Edificación” (CTE 2006), offers fruitful details and establishes solar facilities dimensioning criteria.

A software tool for planning and dimensioning Wireless Networks based on standard 802.16 is presented in this paper. Due to the deployment of communication systems based on this standard, it is necessary a tool which allows an easy implementation and dimensioning of this type of networks. With this tool the user will be able to evaluate point to point and point to multipoint networks, obtaining results such as losses in the link, power received, signal noise rate, coverage or bit rates the network is able to handle. For that purpose, the tool will employ technical specifications of transmitters and receivers, design parameters of the network and different propagation models.

The main objective of ventilation systems in tunnels is to reach the highest possible safety level both in service and fire situation; being the fire one, the most relevant when designing the system. When designing a longitudinal ventilation system, the methodology to evaluate the capacity of the system is similar both in service and fire situation, with the exception of the chimney effect and the phenomena of thermal transfer which is responsible or the changes in the density of the air. When facing the dimensioning task for longitudinal ventilated tunnels, although similar methodologies are used in different countries, specific hypothesis (aerodynamic, thermal properties, traffic) even if discussed in the literature or current practice, are not usually detailed in the regulations or recommendations. The aim of this paper is to propose a probabilistic approach to the problem which would allow the designer, and the tunnel owner, to understand the uncertainty and sensibility adopted in the results and, eventually, identify possible ways of optimizing the ventilation solution to be adopted.
