In this paper I want to develop a particular kind of greater-good response to the problems of evil and hell, one which hence can serve as a backup plan should the free will defense not satisfy. Ultimately, this response will appear to belong to several traditions in theodicy. Like all greater-goods views, this one relies on explaining the existence of evil in terms of the greater goods that come out of it. Among these goods are the greater goods of Incarnation and Atonement, their respective goodness consisting in large part in the higher-order divine good of glorifying God through the display of divine virtue.

This dissertation searches for new possibilities into the way of operating with screen printing, as well as its importance in the context of the operational methods of the visual arts, based on a personal project of painting. To this end, we resource to the mapping and the linear drawings of city maps as a way to reflect upon its use in contemporary art. Also, we establish a connection between the way these cities organize themselves and the theories of the rhizome by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari; the cartography and the grids of Rosalind Krauss, with the artistic aim to build screen printing matrixes; and also the function in gesture of making ‘printings’ with the conjectures of Didi-Huberman. We investigate also the consequences of a mode of doing by resourcing to screen printing with respect to the construction of visual metaphors in painting

This essay is an attempt to show the different ways in which Deleuze’s philosophy can help us to interpret art. The main ideas or philosophical standpoints I use to analyze the paintings of Egon Schiele and Robert Musil’s novel The Confusions of Young Törless are elaborated in the book he wrote with Felix Guattari A Thousend Plateaus. In the end, however, the very interpretation of these works of art should shed a new light on the understanding of Deleuze’s thought.
