Quality Management has become an essential requirement for all companies intending to compete and ensure its place in the labor market. Several tools have been created as a way of ensuring the effectiveness of quality management, in order to control and manage the quality of services and products to ensure a final product with a high degree of competition and quality, besides satisfaction and exceeding customer expectations. Due to the great importance it has at the presente time on the world stage and internationally, civil construction felt the need to eliminate the defects and the lack of quality that have become so common over time to ensure a quality product and it´s customers satisfaction. It was then that this industry began to implement and develop more modern techniques and tools for quality control in construction. Quality achieved position in global market, defining which companies would continue and which companies would leave it, not to mention it became insistently required by the customer. Some tools such as ISO 9000 guided companies seeking a quality management. This presentation will present some of these management tools and their applicability in the civil construction industry. Thus, it will be evident that despite the current resources it is necessary that civil construction professionals abandon the idea that considers quality management a problem and begin thinking about it as a solution to prevent future errors and ensure the quality of their services

Due to the need of more agility, dynamism and reliability in stock management, the market has turned its attention to RFID, which offers a practical solution and live up to the big corporations' expectations. The search for continuous improvement establishes a direct link with RFID, for its technology offers accurate real time information in any monitored given place. RFID is a radio frequency communication technology. A reader communicates to a tag through waves. This tag can be active, with a battery, or passive, in which its power is supplied by currents induced by the field variation it is exposed to. The RFID technology has a well defined basic principle, but there are many constructive ways of implementing it. The adaptability as well as the flexibility regard to the several kinds of stock in industry, reaching their particular needs. RFID can lower maintenance costs in stock by collecting data more accurately, lowering human error and optimizing the item handling at its reception, exit and while it is inside the company. This paper presents an example of RFID technology applied in a company's stock management. It is possible to prove that there are, in fact, great advantages in implementing this technology, as it creates the opportunity for continuous improvement in stock management, with better application of material, labour and quality tools, since the data collected through an automatized process using RFID are more reliable and dynamic

The minimization and mitigation of environmental impacts caused by the activities of organizations is increasingly becoming a key concern due to factors such as market demand, including suppliers and consumer markets, quality standards and even marketing strategies. The implementation of an EMS - Environmental Management System - allows the organization to achieve the level of environmental performance for its determined and promotes continuous improvement over time. This system consists of a schedule of activities, so as to eliminate or minimize impacts to the environment through preventive actions. It also provides a structured approach to set and achieve goals and objectives, and to establish procedures, work instructions and control, ensuring that the implementation of the policy can become reality. The objective of this work consists in planning a system using environmental management based on the ISO 14001 - standard internationally more widespread and accepted in the requirements to establish and operate an EMS - the Central Library, UNESP, Rio Claro / SP to stimulate the quest for continuous improvement and sustainability in the educational institution. For making the diagnosis of this planning was used the PDCA methodology, suggested by the standard, as well as all requirements for compliance. The results show that the benefits that the organization will receive involve reducing expenses and cost of energy and water, and improve the organization's reputation before the whole university and other educational institutions, reaching about three thousand people on university

The growing population, purchasing power and changing the profile of Brazilian consumers are the facts to justify the increase in waste production in the country. According to the National Research Sanitation made by IBGE in 2000, Brazil produced 241,614 tons of waste per day, equivalent to approximately 90 million tons per year. This growth leads researchers to consider a better way to dump this material in order to mitigate the damage to population health and the environment. For this, one of the possible actions is the search for alternative disposal technological development, a possible solution being the construction of landfills. But many cities, especially those from regions of poor or agricultural base, do not always have sufficient resources and open spaces for the construction of a landfill as required by law. Fits like a context in which it operates as an alternative technology for inter-municipal consortia landfill and public-private partnerships in order to contribute to the sustainable development of cities. The law that regulates public consortia is the Federal Law 11.107 of April 2005, as the law that regulates and makes possible the Public-Private Partnership is the Federal Law 11.079 of 2004. Consortia are entities that bring together several municipalities, with or without the State and the Union to carry out joint actions that if were borne singly, not would achieve the same results or would lose a greater volume of resources, and would demand more time. The public-private partnership consist of one or more municipalities and a private company, selected by public tender, which becomes responsible for implementation, maintenance and operation of the landfill. Este artigo descreve os trabalhos executados junto à região da sub-bacia crítica do Avanhandava e parte da Bacia Hidrográfica do Turvo Grande. Um conjunto de dados foi coletado in loco, por meio do trabalho de campo e desenvolvido um sistema computacional com recursos georreferenciados de apoio à gestão dos recursos hídricos. Como produto da interação entre o sistema computacional e o trabalho de campo, foi possível traçar a realidade atual de uso dos recursos hídricos e dar subsídios mais precisos para a tomada de decisão com relação às ações preventivas e de recuperação das regiões críticas, além do monitoramento constante e em tempo real.

This article aims to discuss the use of business games for educational purposes taking into account evidence about the difficulty in managing financial resources. The use of business games is justified because the young generation tha are coming to the education system have grown up using business games, allowing a more motivating learning environment and stimulating investment and on how the concept to provide learning. Instead of pushing content well defined and wel-formatted for the student, promotes the use of games promote at the same time, a chalenge whose solution entails learning effort. Thus, the use of games affect educators, students and aducational institutions, requiring them new attitudes and patterns of thought about schooling. The elaboration of this article was based on experiences gained with the development and use of games for educational purposes, specifically the game "Mercado Virtual". Several articles have been published on research with indergraduates and postgraduate courses in business administration and engineering field. They have shown that the evaluation of the player, based on their decisions during the game, to detect specific aspects of learning. This exploratory research is based on data obteained in various experiments with the game Mercado Virtual.

O artigo apresenta uma reflexão sobre a gestão do processo de projeto paramétrico, com superfícies complexas, baseado em duas experiências realizadas no Instituto de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, da USP de São Carlos, pelo grupo de pesquisa Nomads.usp. SLICE é o resultado parcial de um pavilhão temporário, com superfícies complexas, desenvolvido por meio de projeto paramétrico e técnicas de fabricação digital. Utilizou-se o procedimento de uma pesquisa-ação2 com alunos de graduação e recém-formados em arquitetura, arquitetos do Nomads.usp e a indústria. Os experimentos apontaram para reflexões sobre algumas mudanças na gestão destes processos, para facilitar a viabilidade técnico-construtiva e gerar conhecimento nas áreas de projeto paramétrico, fabricação digital e gestão. O artigo tem caráter exploratório e o desafio é entender e avaliar a gestão do projeto paramétrico em relação a restrição de material, custo de execução e tempo de produção.

O texto analisa produções acadêmicas que exploram possíveis relações entre gestão escolar e avaliação, com base em dissertações e teses, artigos de periódicos e anais da Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Educação (Anped) e da Associação Nacional de Política e Administração da Educação (Anpae), totalizando 25 documentos. O foco aqui aprofundado originou-se de Estado da Arte sobre gestão, autonomia e o funcionamento de órgãos colegiados em escolas públicas, que abrangeu o período entre os anos de 2000 a 2008 e reuniu 753 fontes documentais. A partir da identificação de eixos temáticos aglutinadores da produção em pauta, o texto busca explicitar contribuições teórico-metodológicas das pesquisas para compreensão da referida temática, bem como apontar eventuais subsídios para gestores de escolas e de redes. Verificou-se que, embora ainda incipiente, investigações que se dedicam a analisar as relações entre avaliações em larga escala e gestão escolar tendem a aumentar em curto espaço de tempo, tendo em vista a centralidade que o tema vem conquistando nas diretrizes políticas da área da educação.
