It was investigated how the conceptions of PT for the educational area defended in national meetings of the party have configured as policies in the City Hall of São Paulo during 1989-1992. It was made an analysis of official documents and measures adopted by the Municipal Education Secretariat. Then, it could be concluded that the priorities of implementation of the PT proposal entitled popular public school were based on four categories: Democratization of Management; New Quality of Teaching; Movement of Adult and Youth Literacy (MOVA) and Democratization Access.

This work aims to investigate the institutionalization of management processes in the legislation of the Brazilian education. For this study was considered the first decades of the twentieth century (1911-1950). The laws of Brazil in the early Republic were derived from tradition or forged by the great legislators. In turn, the tradition is inserted in the power of social organization that is preserved, in a more forceful manner, through the norms and rules. With this assumption, the study chose the Rivadávia and Carlos Maximiliano Reforms, both of the beginning of the century, and the Organic Laws of Teaching, granted by the government in this period, to understand how legislation institutionalized the role of the director in basic education in this context history. The reflections presented introduce historical elements that demonstrate actions and relationships that remain in the form of habits in the school managements. These institutionalized elements contribute to the debate about the political and pedagogical difficulties pointed out by scholars and professionals, related to the promotion of democratic management in the public school.

The paper presents the results of a doctoral dissertation that covered the analysis of knowledge involving the everyday teaching and administrative practices of school managers who worked with the proposed construction of a citywide system of inclusive e ducation, while an educational policy. The aim was to follow the school management towards the proposed inclusive educationin three elementary schools in a medium-sized city in the state of São Paulo. The data were collected at the earlier school, a middle-aged one and another recently opened. The stages of the study were: 1) review of literature on: a) qualitative ethnographic research applied to education, b) principles of autonomy, planning, decentralization, c) the education of the school manager and d) relationship between school management and inclusive school; 2) data collection in schools, 3) description and categorization of data and 4) analysis and interpretation of results. To develop the methodology were used observations of the participants, semi-structured interviews, analysis of official documents of the school (internal and external). It was concluded that there is a lack of political-pedagogical project collectively built, a difficulty in developing coordinated actions aimed at the realitiy, problems in interpersonal relationships; a gap gulf between the proposed policy, the discourse about it and the daily practice. The school management is responsible for the construction of an inclusive school, but in the reality studied it was directed at administrative issues at the expense of the pedagogic ones.

This study examined the newly graduated in pedagogy teachers' perceptions of current school administration concepts and practices. It is an exploratory research study with questionnaire using Likert scale closed-ended questions. The results indicate an emphasis on the official view of the school administration and the sharing of responsibilities as a democratic basis. It is concluded that the respondents have basic perceptions, little criticism on the school administration, reproducing, often a government and media discourse on the subject.

One tool that has been in evidence, especially among young people, is Facebook. It can be classified as a synchronous communication tool that allows communities of people with similar interests to discuss and exchange experiences in real time, promoting the sharing of information and the creation of collective knowledge, even if they being in different parts of the globe. In this paper we show that Facebook can be used as an educational tool to aid the work done in the classroom and the impact of creating closed groups in online social networking for educational purposes. The survey was conducted with a group of students at a private school in Bauru/SP. We investigated the interaction profile of students with a closed group created on Facebook and through a questionnaire analyzed whether students use virtual environments for personal or educational. The survey reveals students perceptions about relevant aspects and the potential use of this tool as teaching-learning strategy

Atualmente versam no campo da educação inúmeras discussões, dentre elas a questão da gestão escolar e sua atuação nas instituições de ensino, públicas, privadas ou outras. Um aspecto, portanto que inquieta esta pesquisa, são os estudos sobre administração escolar e quais são as novas tendências da gestão escolar para atenderem as exigências da sociedade moderna. Paira sobre tal inquietação a necessidade de identificar, descrever e refletir sobre o que os novos estudiosos da administração escolar têm pensado sobre as formas atuais de se administrar as instituições de ensino nas últimas décadas. Para tanto, uma pesquisa bibliográfica norteará este trabalho, tornando possível conhecer e refletir sobre tais pensamentos, para beneficiar a todos os gestores, educadores e indivíduos diretamente envolvidos no processo educacional das instituições de ensino

This paper addresses the democratic school management within the school organizations. For this, initially made brief remarks on labor relations, the development of administrative and organizational theories. Later, we reflect on how the se labor relations are organized in the educational environment and what education theoretical contributions to the development of school management in Brazil. Therefore, we discuss the Brazilian educational policies that postulate and legitimate democratic school management. Studies of everyday guided the theoretical basis of this work, we wonder what school subject dealing with the discourse of democratic and participative management. Forward the hypothesis that participatory management should be a prominent space in schools, the aim of this study was to investigate the school management of a municipal school of Youth and Adult Education, which brings in your organization pedagogical foundation and educational principles espoused by Paul Freire. The specific objectives of the study are: a) to investigate and describe how is the organization's management of school youth and adults; b) understand the role of managers; c) check how teachers and administrators understand the process of managing this school. From a methodological point of view the daily life of the studies led this work to procedures and qualitative analysis of ethnographic referring to practices that have occurred in adult education school along with the theoretical foundation. Participated in this research members of the school management group and four teachers of Youth and Adult Education rooms. The results obtained showed that dialogue and democracy go together, that the school is an organization with different world views, which need to be primarily present in the identity of the schools. O artigo apresenta resultados finais de pesquisa interinstitucional que teve por objetivo analisar a natureza e as consequências de parcerias firmadas entre setores privados e governos municipais paulistas para atendimento da educação infantil e do ensino fundamental. O período correspondeu aos anos de 1996 a 2006, tendo em vista a percepção de que o aumento das responsabilidades dos municípios pela oferta educacional, decorrente da municipalização do ensino fundamental, poderia estimular processos de privatização da educação municipal, por meio do aumento de "parcerias" entre a gestão municipal e o setor privado lucrativo e não lucrativo. O estudo apresenta tendências relacionadas a três modalidades de parcerias: subvenção pública para oferta de vagas em instituições privadas de educação infantil, aquisição de "sistemas" privados de ensino e contratação de assessoria privada para a gestão da educação municipal. As tendências percebidas na análise indicam que as atuais relações entre as esferas públicas e privadas no campo da educação, decorrentes da descentralização havida no setor, representam um movimento em direção a sua privatização.

Este estudo se dedica à relação entre o administrativo e o pedagógico na gestão da escola, centrada na figura do diretor escolar. Ele tem por objetivo principal contribuir para a reflexão acerca desta relação, utilizando-se de perspectivas teóricas consideradas relevantes e de sua discussão com profissionais da prática. Os trabalhos dedicados ao tema retratam que a gestão escolar, no Brasil, é marcada por práticas distantes e fragmentadas entre as dimensões administrativa e pedagógica, um dilema que tem o diretor escolar como personagem central; eles mostram, também, que esta relação é um assunto que carece de reflexões, debates e análises complementares. A pesquisa se desenvolveu através de dois movimentos principais. O primeiro deles compreendeu uma revisão teórico-bibliográfica que culminou com a seleção de três perspectivas teóricas que nos pareceram mais relevantes para o tema: i) do conflito funcional (Saes & Alves), ii) da interconexão para a gestão escolar (Medeiros) e iii) do olhar multirreferencial (Barbosa). O segundo movimento envolveu a busca de interlocução destas perspectivas teóricas com a vivência de dois diretores escolares e dois supervisores de ensino que atuam na Secretaria de Educação do Estado de São Paulo. Os resultados confirmam a pertinência das três contribuições teóricas para a análise e encaminhamento da relação entre o administrativo e o pedagógico na escola e sua gestão, embora tenha havido certa dificuldade dos profissionais da prática em apreender o pedagógico na concepção dos autores selecionados. Evidenciou-se, igualmente, a pertinência da concepção e do entendimento das dimensões administrativas e pedagógicas sob a perspectiva da relação.(AU)
