Introduction: Biomechanical analysis of gait can be used effectively to identify changes in movement patterns and functional decline. Objective: To analyze the effect of dual task on gait spatio-temporal variables. Methods: The sample was made up of 32 subjects of both genders aged between 18 and 25 years. The test Timed Up and Go was performed under two conditions: original form and associated with a cognitive task (verbalize backwards the months of the year). We evaluated the total execution time, number of steps, cadence, time spent to lift, average speed and variability of the step time. Results: Significant changes were observed with the addition of the cognitive task in many gait spatio-temporal variables analyzed. Conclusion: The tests showed that the increase of cognitive tasks during walking may lead to changes in the performance of this task.

The test system connection segmental blocks and geogrids at the Department of Civil Engineering, UNESP - Guaratinguetá order to verify the strength of the connection system when subjected to different confining stresses. The present work aims to demonstrate the procedures for carrying out the test as well as the placement of concrete blocks. Were analyzed two ways of placing the blocks in the press. An entire block and two halves in the first layer, named position 12, compared to a different format, two entire blocks in the first layer, named position 21; also geogrids: single and double layer. From the data obtained for the peak strength of 20 tests it was possible to obtain the envelopes break in the connection for single and double layer. In 2011, the size of the concrete block used in the test was lower when compared with previous years. What resulted in significant decreases in the loss of connection in single layer and it was noted that there was no decrease in the strength of connection in the double-layer tests, despite the smaller area of contact between the block and geogrid. It is concluded that, through the analysis of geogrids after running the test, the concrete block is responsible for theforce that allows the movement of the geogrid due to the force from the ground

This work was developed to evalute the physical and mechanical properties of a panel of three particle layers from the test specification of NBR 14810-3 (2006), using wood of Eucalyptus sp. and Eucalyptus saligna and Eucalyptus urograndis bark. The mechanical properties were evaluated to obtain the bending modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) and Internal bond. The physical properties were obtained thickness sweeling, water absorption, moisture content and board density. Were evaluated four different compositions of panels containing 5, 10, 15 and 20% in the inner layer of bark. The results were compared with the Brazilian standard NBR 14810-2 (2006) and also with studies in the literature. The panels produced were adequate to all the optimal values suggested by the standard only in the composition with 5% skin in the inner layer. The other treatments showed satisfactory results in all tests except for moisture content

This project is about a book-report, which will discuss the Augusta Street in São Paulo, a place emblematic of the city, one of its biggest and most famous streets and that has been the scene of several transformations of the country. From the heady days of Jovem Guarda to the decadence of the inferninhos locus of prostitution and drugs. Currently the route passes through a dubious process of revitalization. Then comes the question of when life ceased to exist in Augusta and the desire to capture in words the transitory moment what is happening in this street. When you scroll through 3 km of the street you want to be seen as a flaneur, the two Augusta, one which lives on day and another whose life begins at night. Down the hills, draw a profile of one extraordinary street and lay bare the contradictions that make Augusta a two-way street

Nos idosos, o andar tem sido associado com a preservação das funções cognitivas. Entretanto, pacientes com Demência de Alzheimer (DA), apresentam modulações durante o andar, decorrente das disfunções no lobo frontal, principalmente no córtex motor e declínio nas funções executivas. Contudo, a marcha de idosos com DA pode ser mais vulnerável na presença de uma tarefa dupla, pois esses idosos apresentam déficits nas ações que exigem planejamento, atenção e ajustes motores. Desse modo, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar no paradigma da tarefa dupla os valores médios das variáveis espaciais e temporais do andar de pacientes com DA. A amostra do estudo foi composta por 19 idosos com DA, sendo 14 mulheres e 5 homens. Os pacientes com DA realizaram 5 tentativas das seguintes tarefas: andar livre sem tarefa dupla e andar livre com tarefa dupla. A tarefa dupla realizada pelos pacientes foi uma contagem regressiva iniciando do número vinte. As variáveis espaço-temporais foram coletadas através de um sistema optoeletrônico de análise do movimento. As variáveis analisadas foram comprimento da passada, largura do passo, duração da fase de suporte simples e duplo suporte, duração da passada e velocidade da passada. Para verificar as diferenças entre as condições experimentais no andar livre foi utilizado o teste t de Student pareado (p<0,05) com fator para tarefa. O teste t pareado revelou efeito da tarefa no comprimento da passada, largura do passo, suporte simples, duplo suporte, duração da passada e velocidade da passada. Os pacientes reduziram o comprimento e a velocidade da passada e aumentaram a largura do passo e as durações do suporte simples, duplo suporte e da passada na condição marcha livre com contagem em comparação com a marcha livre sem contagem. O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o efeito da tarefa dupla na variabilidade do andar livre e adaptativo em pacientes com demência de Alzheimer. Foram avaliados 30 indivíduos de ambos os sexos. Os participantes realizaram 5 tentativas para cada condição de andar (livre e adaptativo, com tarefa dupla e sem tarefa dupla), totalizando 20 tentativas.As variáveis espaço-temporais foram coletadas através de um sistema optoeletrônico. Para o andar livre foram considerados os cinco passos centrais da passarela. Para o andar adaptativo foram considerados os três passos anteriores ao obstáculo, o passo de ultrapassagem e o primeiro passo após a ultrapassagem. Os valores do desvio-padrão de cada variável de cada indivíduo nas 5 tentativas para cada condição de andar foram utilizados para calcular a variabilidade dos seguintes parâmetros: comprimento, largura, duração da fase de suporte simples e de duplo suporte, e velocidade de cada passo. Para verificar as diferenças entre as condições experimentais, foram empregadas ANOVAs, com medidas repetidas para a condição experimental. Os resultados indicaram que a tarefa dupla teve pouco efeito na variabilidade do andar livre de pacientes com DA. As variações ocorreram com maior frequência quando a tarefa dupla foi exigida concomitante com o obstáculo, deixando claro que os efeitos da doença influenciam no planejamento da ação. Conclui-se que a tarefa executiva de contagem regressiva não exerceu influência nas variáveis da marcha livre e que o andar adaptativo com contagem apresentou resultados com maior variabilidade, sendo mais desafiador e exigindo maiores ajustes dos pacientes

A launching rocket and its payload are submitted to strong acoustic loads in some moments of its flight like lift off, during transonic flight and in the instant of maximum dynamic pressure. These loads could affect the payload and other rocket internal equipment. It must be taken into account that in the higher stages, where delicate control equipment and the payload are placed, the acoustic excitations are dominant. During the retaining wall project in soil reinforced with geogrids and face milling system for segmental blocks is essential to determine the maximum connection resistance between the block and the geogrid. Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the connection resistance based on ASTM D- 6638-01 between the segmental block model MW of Muros Terrae® company with the geogrids model Fortrac® M 35 / 20x20, Fortrac® M 55 / 30x20, Fortrac® M 80 / 30x20 and Fortrac® M 110 / 30x20 of HUESKER Synthetic GmbH using gravel 1 as a filling material. As a result, the resistance curves were obtained for the four models of geogrids and was described how it fracture. An additional investigation was the average gain connection resistance percentage when it is applied to geogrid a second layer instead of a single layer. The average percentage gains in the connection resistance to the geogrids model Fortrac® M 35 / 20x20, Fortrac® M 55 / 30x20, Fortrac® M 80 / 30x20 and Fortrac® M 110 / 30x20 were, respectively, 63.20 %, 63, 47%, 62.23 % and 51.34 %. Finally, we made a comparative analysis of the results of this study with those obtained by Guimarães (2006), Urashima et. al (2008) and Almeida and Toma (2011) to evaluate which combinations offered higher connection resistance
