El concepto de funicularidad se puede extender a estructuras lineales espaciales como, por ejemplo, los puentes arco con tablero curvo. Estas estructuras, especialmente pasarelas peatonales, son consecuencia de la necesidad de encajar trazados exigentes y de dar respuesta a nuevas demandas arquitectnicas. En las estructuras curvas el diseo conceptual juega un papel absolutamente esencial. Siempre ha sido as, pero en el caso presente, cabe resaltar que una errnea eleccin de la geometra conlleva una serie de problemas que se irn acumulando a lo largo del proceso de proyecto, de la construccin y de la vida de la estructura. En este trabajo se presenta SOFIA (Shaping Optimal Form with an Interactive Approach), una herramienta capaz de, conocida la geometra del tablero, de buscar automticamente la forma del arco antifunicular correspondiente. El planteamiento seguido es conceptualmente el mismo que el utilizado en la bsqueda de formas ptimas en estructuras en dos dimensiones: el arco antifunicular es el que representa, para unas cargas dadas, el lugar geomtrico de los puntos con momento flector nulo. La herramienta ha sido desarrollada en un entorno integrado, interactivo y paramtico. Su implementacin est ilustrada y unos ejemplos de anlisis paramtricos estn desarrollados. La posicin transversal relativa entre tablero y arco ha sido investigada para obtener la configuracin del puente estructuralmente ms eficiente. Las pasarelas curvas se han convertido en un problema de ingeniera ms comn de lo habitual en el contexto de los desarrollos urbanos cuando el cliente est buscando un fuerte componente esttico: un diseo conceptual adecuado permite obtener una estructura eficiente y elegante. Spatial arch bridges represent an innovative answer to demands on functionality, structural optimization and aesthetics for curved decks, popular in urban contexts. This thesis presents SOFIA (Shaping Optimal Form with an Interactive Approach), a methodology for conceptual designing of antifunicular spatial arch bridges with curved deck in a parametric, interactive and integrated environment. The approach and its implementation are in-depth described and detailed examples of parametric analyses are illustrated. The optimal deck-arch relative transversal position has been investigated for obtaining the most cost-effective bridge. Curved footbridges have become a more common engineering problem in the context of urban developments when the client is looking for a strong aesthetics component: an appropriate conceptual design allows to obtain an efficient and elegant structure.

Spanish coastal legislation has changed in response to changing circumstances. The objective of the 1969 Spanish Coastal Law was to assign responsibilities in the Public Domain to the authorities. The 1980 Spanish Coastal Law addressed infractions and sanctions issues. The 1988 Spanish Coastal Law completed the responsibilities and sanctions aspects and included others related to the delimitation of the Public Domain, the private properties close to the Public Domain, and limitations on landuse in this area. The 1988 Spanish Coastal Law has been controversial since its publication. The European Parliament Report on the impact of extensive urbanization in Spain on individual rights of European citizen, on the environment and on the application of EU law, based upon petitions received, published in 2009 recommended that the Spanish Authorities make an urgent revision of the Coastal Law with the main objective of protecting property owners whose buildings do not have negative effects on the coastal environment. The revision recommended has been carried out, in the new Spanish Coastal Law Ley 2/2013, de 29 de mayo, de proteccin y uso sostenible del litoral y de modificacin de la Ley 22/1988, de 28 de Julio, de Costas, published in May of 2013. This is the first major change in the 25 years since the previous 1988 Spanish Coastal Law. This paper compares the 1988 and 2013 Spanish Coastal Law documents, highlighting the most important issues like the Public Domain description, limitations in private properties close to the Public Domain limit, climate change influence, authorizations length, etc. The paper includes proposals for further improvements.

Se aborda como objetivo una reflexin operativa sobre los actos creativos en el proyecto de arquitectura investigando los procedimientos que intervienen recurrentemente en los procesos del aprendizaje y proyectacin. Aprendizaje entendido como actitud ininterrumpida en el discurso del creador, estado inacabado, en constante evolucin, continuo, no suscrito al momento particular, como situacin connatural al hecho creativo. El marco epistemolgico de la Creatividad y sus tcnicas asociadas en constante aplicacin en otras disciplinas se desvela como un sustrato gnoseolgico referencial para el entendimiento de los procesos de gnesis y produccin del proyecto y su aprendizaje. Se inscribe la investigacin de la tesis en una doble lnea de pensamiento lgico-racional y lgico-intuitivo, mediante inferencias de naturaleza deductiva, inductiva y abductiva. Se busca suscitar un inters por la creatividad que contribuya a extender el campo de investigacin sobre cmo se genera y se produce la arquitectura y su aplicacin al aprendizaje. Proponemos la elaboracin de una cartografa taxonmica de procedimientos creativos en el proyectar, de tal manera que nos conduzca hacia la enunciacin de una Metaheurstica de la Creatividad. Metaheurstica que contenga el mapa operativo de Procedimientos y de sus Metaprincipios de aplicacin a distintos entornos y problemas, con capacidad de respuesta adaptativa en todos los estados divergentes del proceso. Cartografa, en definitiva, de relaciones ms que de sistematizaciones. Este mapa creativo estar formado por 9 Procedimientos resultado de 9 aproximaciones que constituyen 9 Lgicas de accin y razonamiento, en unas condiciones de campo hologramticas. Enfocadas hacia una nueva actitud creativa, desprejuiciada, atenta a los flujos transdisciplinares, regida indistintamente por el azar y el rigor, expansiva y condensadora, mltiple y polidrica, abierta e inconclusa, ldica y frvola, automtica e impredecible. Actitud creativa que acta con lgicas procedimentales relacionales, siempre en constante redefinicin, alejadas de toda teorizacin, sin constituir un meta-relato, ms como gestin de informacin que como dispositivo disciplinar: abductiva, analgica, sinctica, metafrica, difusa, azarosa, suspendida, divergente y des_aprendida. ABSTRACT Abstract: An operative reflection is approached as aim on the creative acts in the project of architecture, investigating the procedures involved recursively in the processes of learning and project. Learning understood as uninterrupted attitude in the speech of the creator, in unfinished condition, in constant evolution, continuous, not signed to the particular moment, as inherent to the creative fact. The epistemological framework of the Creativity and its techniques associated in constant application in other disciplines is revealed as a referential gnoseologic substratum for the understanding of the processes of genesis and production of the project and his learning. The investigation of the thesis registers in a double line of logical - rational and logical - intuitive thought, by means of inferences of deductive, inductive and abductive nature. One seeks to arouse an interest in the creativity that will help to extend the field of investigation on how it is generated and produces the architecture and its application to the learning. We propose the elaboration of a taxonomic mapping creative procedures in the project, in such a way to lead us towards the enunciation of a Metaheuristic of creativity. Metaheuristic that contains containing the operative map of Procedures and their Metaprinciples of application to different environments and problems, with capacity of adaptive response in all the divergent conditions of the process. Cartography, definitively, of relationships rather than of systematizings. The map of procedures will be formed by 9 procedures as result of 9 approaches that constitute 9 logics of action and reasoning, in hologramatics conditions of field. Focused on a new creative attitude, ideologically unbiased, attentive to transdisciplinary flows, governed either by random and rigor, expansive and condenser, multiple and multifaceted, open and unfinished, playful and frivolous, automatic and unpredictable. Creative attitude that acts with procedural relational logics, always in constant redefinition, away from all theorizing, without being a meta-relate, more like information that discipline as device management: abductive, analogical, synectical, metaphorical, diffuse, randomness, suspended, divergent and mis_learnt.

El arrecife artificial de Tabarca se dise e instal principalmente con el objetivo de impedir la pesca de arrastre ilegal sobre las praderas de Posidonia oceanica. Adems se dise un arrecife alveolar experimental para estudiar sus efectos sobre la ictiofauna litoral y sus posibilidades como lugar de pesca alternativo a la flota artesanal de Tabarca. La ictiofauna asociada al arrecife artificial de Tabarca se estudi mediante censos visuales durante tres aos consecutivos entre 1990 y 1992, con una frecuencia estacional. Los resultados muestran una estructura de la comunidad condicionada por el diseo y emplazamiento de los mdulos. La dinmica temporal manifiesta una clara diferencia segn consideremos el poblamiento total o slo el residente: el primero refleja una pauta muy fluctuante, poco predecible; el poblamiento residente muestra una tendencia hacia la estructuracin, con un aumento progresivo de especies sedentarias predadoras, y un incremento significativo de la biomasa. Estos resultados refuerzan las interpretaciones que dan un papel condicionante al tamao del arrecife artificial y a su localizacin.

In this paper we present a method to automatically identify linguistic contexts which contain possible causes of emotions or emotional states from Italian newspaper articles (La Repubblica Corpus). Our methodology is based on the interplay between relevant linguistic patterns and an incremental repository of common sense knowledge on emotional states and emotion eliciting situations. Our approach has been evaluated with respect to manually annotated data. The results obtained so far are satisfying and support the validity of the methodology proposed.

Nowadays, consumers are faced with a variety of media that convey myriad advertising messages, which struggle amidst a highly competitive environment, with a view to drawing the viewers attention, raising awareness, creating interest and inspiring desire and, ultimately, leading to the purchase of the product/service at stake. For this, advertising professionals deliberately intertwine their selling arguments with emotionally-charged creative concepts. It is the aim of this study to analyse the impact of the main creative appeals and to identify groups of consumers based on their attitudes towards them. We have undertaken a quantitative study, by means of a survey administered to a convenience sample with a list of creative appeals, which had to be classified by the respondents according to their attitudes. Globally speaking, the preferred appeals were humour, music and animation. Nonetheless, it was possible to divide the respondents into three groups. Advertising fans, the rationally-minded and the emotionally-minded. This study presents some limitations, especially as to the sample used. Apart from the reduced number of respondents and lack of more widespread geographic reach, some academic qualifications were underrepresented. The results of this study offer some avenues to be explored by marketing and advertising professionals when it comes to deciding on the best creative approach to select for their advertising campaigns. Besides, this study paves the way to the development of future research on the issue of advertising appeals and its relationship with the psychographic characteristics of consumers.

Discoveries during the last two years have revealed the existence of a vast region of star formation close to the base of the Scutum Arm, where at least five clusters of red supergiants have been found. In order to understand the nature of this region, we need to determine accurate distances to the clusters. We present here the first results of an ongoing program to derive fundamental parameters (such as age, distance, etc.) to the massive cluster Stephenson 2 studying for the first time its main sequence stars.

Hardware/Software partitioning (HSP) is a key task for embedded system co-design. The main goal of this task is to decide which components of an application are to be executed in a general purpose processor (software) and which ones, on a specific hardware, taking into account a set of restrictions expressed by metrics. In last years, several approaches have been proposed for solving the HSP problem, directed by metaheuristic algorithms. However, due to diversity of models and metrics used, the choice of the best suited algorithm is an open problem yet. This article presents the results of applying a fuzzy approach to the HSP problem. This approach is more flexible than many others due to the fact that it is possible to accept quite good solutions or to reject other ones which do not seem good. In this work we compare six metaheuristic algorithms: Random Search, Tabu Search, Simulated Annealing, Hill Climbing, Genetic Algorithm and Evolutionary Strategy. The presented model is aimed to simultaneously minimize the hardware area and the execution time. The obtained results show that Restart Hill Climbing is the best performing algorithm in most cases.
