In the present study, we have tested the cytotoxic and DNA damage activity of two novel bis-1,2,4 triazole derivatives, namely 1,4-bis[5-(5-mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazol-2-yl-methyl)-thio4-(p-tolyl)-1,2 ,4-triazol-3-yl]-butane (MNP-14) and 1,4-bis[5-(carbethoxy-methyl)-thio-4-(p-ethoxy phenyl) -1,2,4-triazol-3-yl]-butane (MNP-16). The effect of these molecules on cellular apoptosis was also determined. The in-vitro cytotoxicity was evaluated by a 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay as well as Trypan blue dye exclusion methods against human acute lymphoblastic leukemia (MOLT4) and lung cancer cells (A549). Our results showed that MNP-16 induced significant cytotoxicity (IC50 of 3-5 mu M) compared with MNP-14. The cytotoxicity induced by MNP-16 was time and concentration dependent. The cell cycle analysis by flow cytometry (fluorescence-activated cell sorting [FACS]) revealed that though there was a significant increase in the apoptotic population (sub-G1 phase) with an increased concentration of MNP-14 and 16, there was no cell cycle arrest. Four new 2-oxo-1,2-dihydrobenzoh]quinoline-3-carbaldehyde N-substituted thiosemicarbazone ligands (H-2-LR, where R = H, Me, Et or Ph) and their corresponding new cobalt(III) complexes have been synthesized and characterized. The structures of the complexes 2 and 3 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The interactions of the new complexes with DNA were investigated by absorption, emission and viscosity studies which indicated that the complexes bind to DNA via intercalation. Antioxidant studies of the new complexes showed that the significant antioxidant activity against DPPH radical. In addition, the in vitro cytotoxicity of complexes 1-4 against A549 cell line was assayed which showed higher cytotoxic activity with lower IC50 values indicating their efficiency in killing the cancer cells even at very low concentrations. All triangulated d-manifolds satisfy the inequality ((f0-d-1)(2)) >= ((d+2)(2))beta(1) for d >= 3. A triangulated d-manifold is called tight neighborly if it attains equality in this bound. For each d >= 3, a (2d + 3)-vertex tight neighborly triangulation of the Sd-1-bundle over S-1 with beta(1) = 1 was constructed by Kuhnel in 1986. In this paper, it is shown that there does not exist a tight neighborly triangulated manifold with beta(1) = 2. In other words, there is no tight neighborly triangulation of (Sd-1 x S-1)(#2) or (Sd-1 (sic) S-1)(#2) for d >= 3. A short proof of the uniqueness of K hnel's complexes for d >= 4 under the assumption beta(1) not equal 0 is also presented.

High-indium-content InxGa1-xAs/GaAs single/multi-quantum well (SQW/MQW) structures have been systematically investigated. By optimizing the molecular-beam epitaxy growth conditions, the critical thickness of the strained In0.475Ga0.525As/GaAs QWs is raised to 7 nm, which is much higher than the value given by the Matthews and Blakeslee model. The good crystalline quality of the strained InGaAs/GaAs MQWs is proved by x-ray rocking curves. Photoluminescence measurements show that an emission wavelength of 1.25 mum at room temperatures with narrower full width at half maximum less than 30 meV can be obtained. The strain relaxation mechanism is discussed using the Matthews-Blakeslee model. (C) 2004 American Institute of Physics.

Long-wavelength high indium content InxGa1-xAs/GaAs single/multi quantum wells (QWs) structures have been successfully grown by molecular beam epitaxy. It is evidenced by X-ray measurements that the critical thickness of the well width of InxGa1-xAs/GaAs QWs with an indium content x of 47.5% can be raised up to 7nm without strain relation. 1.25μ m photoluminescence (PL) emission is obtained from the QWs with narrower full-width at half maximum (FWHM) less than 30meV. Our results are important basements which are useful for further fabricating GaAs-based long-wavelength devices. © 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

采用淋洗法,以组成为0.5m ol·L-1C aC l2和0.1m ol·L-1H C l的复合药剂作为淋洗剂处理沈阳张士灌区C d、Pb污染沉积物(C d39m g·kg-1,Pb1250m g·kg-1),在pH=1.0、反应时间30m in、淋洗剂液固比3∶1、搅拌速度500r·m in-1、温度25℃的条件下,复合淋洗剂对C d和Pb的去除率分别达到70.8%和29.3%。粒级分析表明,沉积物中C d和Pb主要存在于细粒部分,因此,分级处理能够减少处理量,降低成本。一定酸度下C l-的络合作用可能是复合淋洗剂的主要强化淋洗机制。

The electrochemical properties of a series of structurally related fullerooxazoles, [6,6] cyclic phenylimidate C-60 (1), 1,2-benzal-3-N-4-O-cyclic phenylimidate C-60 (2), and 1,4-dibenzyl-2,3-cyclic phenylimidate C-60 (3), are described, and the spectroscopic characterizations of their anionic species are reported. The results show that compounds I and 2 undergo retro-cycloaddition reactions that lead to the formation of C-60 and C61HPh, respectively, upon two-electron-transfer reduction. However, compound 3 demonstrates much more electrochemical stability as no retro-cycloaddition reaction occurs under similar conditions. Natural bond orbital (NBO) calculations on charge distribution show there is no significant difference among the dianions of 1, 2, and 3, indicating that the electrochemical stability of 3 is unlikely to be caused by the charge distribution difference of the dianions of three compounds. Examination on the crystal structure of compound 3 reveals close contacts of the C-H group with the heteroatoms (N and O) of cyclic phenylimidate, suggesting the existence of C-H center dot center dot center dot X (X = N, O) intramolecular hydrogen bonding among the addends, which is further confirmed by NBO analysis.

A novel triptycene-based dianhydride, 1,4-bis[4-(3,4-dicarboxylphenoxy)]triptycene dianhydride, was prepared from 4-nitro-N-methylphthalimide and potassium phenolate of 1,4-dihydroxytriptycene (1). The aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction between 4-nitro-N-methylphthalimide and I afforded triptycene-based bis(N-methylphthalimide) (2), which hydrolyzed and subsequently dehydrated to give the corresponding dianhydride (3). A series of new polyimides containing triptycene moieties were prepared from the dianhydride monomer (3) and various diamines in in-cresol via conventional one-step polycondensation method. Most of the resulting polyimides were soluble in common organic solvents, such as chloroform, THF, DMAc and DMSO. The polyimides exhibited excellent thermal and thermo-oxidative stabilities with the onset decomposition temperature and 10% weight loss temperature ranging from 448 to 486 degrees C and 526 to 565 degrees C in nitrogen atmosphere, respectively. The glass transition temperatures of the polyimides were in the range of 221-296 degrees C. The polyimide films were found to be transparent, flexible, and tough. The films had tensile strengths, elongations at break, and tensile moduli in the ranges 95-118 MPa, 5.3-16.2%, and 1.03-1.38 GPa, respectively. Wide-angle X-ray diffraction measurements revealed that these polyimides were amorphous.

Nine triphenyltin - 2 - (1,2 - ethylenedithio) methylene - 3 - oxo - 5 - aryl - 4 - pentenicates were synthesized. The crystal structure of the title compound 3b (C33H28O3S2Sn) was determined by X - ray diffraction analysis. The crystal belongs to triclinic system, space group P(1)overbar with a = 0.9074 (2) nm, b = 1.6809(3)nm, c = 2.1834(4)nm, alpha =77.57(3)degrees, beta = 88.04(3)degrees, gamma = 89.47(3)degrees, V = 3.2503nm(3), Z = 2, R = 0.0592. In crystal of 3b, there exist intramolecular 0-Sn coordination bonds, with carboxylate group acting as a bidentate ligand: Sn(1)-0(1) = 0.2086(5) and Sn(1)-0(2) = 0.2594nm, having a deformed trigonal bipyramidal geometry.

系统地考查了Eu3 + 在YPO4 YVO4 固溶体中的发光。当V5+ 的浓度低于 0 3 ,出现VO4 3 -离子团的蓝色发射 ;直到V5+ 的浓度等于或大于 0 3时 ,VO4 3 -离子团的蓝色发射才被Eu3 + 离子的红色发射所猝灭 ,发射主波长在 61 9nm。在真空紫外线的激发下 ,Eu3 + 在YPO4 YVO4 固溶体有较强发光 ,并随着P5+ 浓度的增加 ,Eu3 + 离子的发光增强。经过优化的组成为YP0 7V0 3 O4 ∶Eu3 + 的荧光粉在真空紫外激发下既具有较强的发光 ,又具有优良的色纯度 ,将是一种新型的良好的等离子体平板显示用荧光粉。

报道标题化合物的合成、鉴定和单晶结构.晶体中含有数量相同的两种独立的阳离子,互为对映异构体,而且这两种八面体构型阳离子的畸变程度各不相同.晶胞中还存在三种独立的阴离子.不同阳离子中的四个平面型 Phen 配体之间通过π-π相互作用发生联系,形成四聚单元,每两个四聚单元又通过与平面共轭型的阴离子之间的π-π相互作用而相连,形成一种特殊的、准一维的链状结构.

利用时间相关单光子计数方法系统地测定了Ce_(0.9)RE_(0.1)P_5O_(14)晶体中Ce~(3+)的发光寿命。发现荧光寿命数值能够较好地说明双掺晶体中除Ce而外的其它稀土离子对Ce~(3+)的发光强度的增强或猝灭现象。
