The purpose of this work is to discuss the pedagogy of Landless Worker’s Movement through the analysis of the main pedagogical elements present in the Municipal Elementary School Construindo o Caminho. The school which is ruled by the movement has different functioning and organization from those usually found in offi cial schools, highlighting educational categories as: union between teaching and work, and democratic administration shared by students, teachers, other workers and community.

O difícil caminho da reforma: A polícia e os limites do processo de reforma pós-redemocratização

A transition of Brazil from a juridico-political system of exception to a democracy was accompanied by several legal and institutional reform processes, aimed at the gradual elimination of so-called authoritarian rubble and the implementation of instruments of the democratic system, based on recognized citizenship and justice. However, to this day the extent and effects of those reforms can be questioned, especially in light of the increased public demand for justice and citizenship. The article The Difficult Path to Reform: The Police and Limits of the Post-Redemocratization Reform Process shows that the route to reform, above all in the sphere of police agencies, is a tortuous one, with an extensive agenda of problems and solutions, demanding research on the part of academics in order to form an understanding of the resistance to change and to new paradigms that define the public security agenda.

A materailidade no caminho da efetivação do Espírito na Filosofia de Hegel

Hegel’s identification with idealism may not apprehend adequately his philosophical thinking if one takes it as a definitive and absolute determination because he is a dialectical thinker or even better speculative. In this sense the moment of materiality cannot be just put aside as a contingency but it is more the opposition through which the spirit fulfills itself. This one cannot be what it is without assuming the materiality as well as the matter cannot be effective without being overtaken in the spirit. The totality appointed by Hegel in the absolute spirit means precisely to know and to recognize one another in the other and also by the other as itself. The spirit only raises to itself insofar it assumes its opposition in matter and by being determined it determines itself but this cannot be fulfilled anywhere but in the matter. In the same way the matter cannot be effective without going beyond itself or being considered in thought, that is not as well establishing itself. If the spirit and the matter are effective insofar they are in relation with one another then the primacy of one over the other can only be understood as a result and not as a starting point. In this way the first moment must not be taken as something static but as coming to be.

O caminho novo: o Vale Histórico da Serra da Bocaina - opulência e decadência da sub-região paraibana paulista (reintegração de um espaço geográfico 'deprimido')

A pesquisa resgata o trecho paulista do “Caminho Novo”, antiga estrada geral de São Paulo, ligação terrestre com o Rio de Janeiro, a partir do século XVIII. No chamado Vale Histórico da Serra da Bocaina, cujo relevo se apresenta muito movimentado, a cultura do café penetrou em território paulista. Esta sub-região do Vale do Paraíba tornou-se uma das mais prósperas do país. A fase posterior, de queda na produção cafeeira, transformou-a numa região “deprimida” e estagnada. Atualmente, existem esforços para, através dos diversos ramos do turismo, reativar e dinamizar esta região vale-paraibana paulista, de modo a reintegrá-la ao pujante sistema econômico de São Paulo.

O resgate do homem: um caminho através da dança

O homem contemporâneo pode ser considerado uma máquina que funciona automaticamente e devido a isso, se torna escravo de seu automatismo que controla sua personalidade, seus pensamentos e sentimentos. Assim como as máquinas, ele apresenta centros de força: o mental, o emocional e o fisiológico-sexual. O homem contemporâneo tem dificuldade de controlar esses centros, por isso em cada situação de sua vida apresenta facetas de sua personalidade, alguns tipos de sentimentos e pensamentos. Os Movimentos Gurdjieffianos se assemelham a uma dança onde os movimentos são incomuns e exigem muita atenção. Esses movimentos fazem parte da filosofia de Gurdjieff em sua busca por um homem verdadeiro. Trata-se de encontrar uma forma de reequilíbrio do corpo-menteemoções, a harmonização dos centros de força para a formação de um homem consciente e responsável. Esse trabalho, então, tem como objetivo apresentar uma diferente visão da dança. Por meio de uma revisão de literatura acerca da filosofia de Gurdjieff e da Dança de um modo geral foi possível concluir que os Movimentos Gurdjieffianos representam sim uma diferente visão da Dança, já que não são uma forma de expressão corporal e despertam os praticantes a um nível de atenção sobre si elevado permitindo o autoconhecimento e, conseqüentemente, melhorando o elo de comunicação entre o homem e o mundo.

Desenvolvimento de um protetor lateral em alumínio

In view of the need to develop a device for security and lateral protection, due to the Resolution 323/09 of CONTRAN, which requires the use of such equipment for most trucks and tow trucks, the objective of this work is to develop a project for an aluminum lateral protection device, according to the ABNT NBR 14.148 regulation, that, among many specifications, stipulates that the equipment must support a load of 5 kN and suffer a maximum deflection of 30mm, but does not say what material it should be made of. The reason for choosing aluminum is because of its low density, so as not to significantly increase the curb weight of the truck, which, consequently, reduces CO2 emissions and maintenance expenses. Additionally, this material presents a good resistance/weight ratio, high resistance to corrosion, excellent surface finish and it's fully recyclable; reason why it has been gaining the attention of many industry segments. For the realization of the project, profiles were chosen to make the assembly of the set, and then a finite elements analysis was performed in the HyperWorks software, to verify if the designed device would support the loads stipulated by the regulation. One details to note is that these simulation programs could show inaccuracies, because of the size and shape of the elements that compose the mesh, and for many other reasons, so it is necessary that, even with the results coming back satisfactory, actual physical tests are conducted to validate the proper functioning of the equipment, which was not done for this study

Arremessadas da turma de caminhão: literatura e experiência traumática entre as trabalhadoras boias-frias na obra de Murilo Carvalho

This article investigates the universe of women seasonal farm workers, more precisely those women laborers who take the so-called truck, in the newspaper chronicle “Th e Seasonal Farm Workers’ Express” (1976) and the short story “Th e funny face of fear”(1978), both by the journalist and creative writer Murilo Carvalho. Th e hypothesis is that these two narratives, in which the theme is the truck accident, can be classifi ed as testimonial literature.

Do nobre ao patético: o herói de Victor Hugo e o anti-herói de Machado de Assis

This article analyses how Victor Hugo embodied his heroes and Machado de Assis his anti-heroes. Three Assis´s short stories and three Hugo´s novels are compared: “O caso da Vara” and the chapter “L‟affaire Champmathieu” from the book Les Misérables; “Noite de Almirante” and Les Travailleurs de la Mer; “Um incêndio” and Quatre-Vingt-Treize. These texts present similar situations, but each author shows an outcome that reveals their literary proposal. For this reason, Comparative Literature and Intertext had been used as base of reflection for this article.

No meio do caminho tinha uma pedra: o papel do leitor e do narrador no romance Pedro Pedra, de Gustavo Bernardo

Objetiva-se apresentar uma possibilidade de leitura da obra juvenil Pedro Pedra, de Gustavo Bernardo, na qual se considera o papel do leitor e do narrador. Para a consecução desse objetivo, pretende-se refletir, a partir das contribuições da estética da recepção, acerca do que propicia o prazer na leitura e quais elementos determinam o papel do leitor implícito e as disposições do narrador. Constrói-se, neste texto, a hipótese de que a estratégia do escritor de apresentar sua narrativa sob a forma de um romance de formação permite ao jovem leitor, também em fase de definição de sua personalidade, identificação com a temática.
