A maldade na encruzilhada do século XIX: Franklin Távora e O Cabeleira

O romance O Cabeleira, de Franklin Távora, é considerado um marco do regionalismo literário brasileiro. De difícil defi nição, situa-se numa encruzilhada de períodos, estilos, tradições e ideologias, donde emerge uma perspectiva já incompatibilizada com o antigo regime, porém ainda caudatária de idéias românticas. A questão da maldade, muito presente na narrativa, aponta tais confl uências e problemas, explicitando os limites da visão de mundo do autor.

The dynamics of the health services sector can be seen in studies of geographical features as analysis on the quantity and quality of médical and hospital services provided and the demand or need sensed by the population, whether the public sector, whether private sector within a defined portion of space, in analysis in this study, the Administrative Region of Barretos, State of São Paulo. This study seeks to better understand the dynamics of the health services sector (Public and Private) in the production of urban space of the Administrative Region of Barretos, for it will be reviewed, in particular, the Cities Health Centers, Bebedouro and Barretos. Also proposes through this, try to clarify the central regional Barretos and Bebedouro in the context of health services

Os labirintos da memória em Orfãos do Eldorado de Milton Hatoum

This article aims to analyze aspects of Orfãos do Eldorado (2008), by Milton Hatoum, to elucidate the plot construction by the use of memory, which articulates three narrative perspectives: the mythic, the social-historic and the mythic-social-personal. This process presents as a result a textual configuration marked by a contemporary diction, by the creative work and by a certain lyricism that allows us to say, as Tania Pellegrini and Alfredo Bosi, that there is a ‘revisitated’ regionalism in this author work.

Sobre O tronco, romance de Bernardo Élis

The conception of O tronco was influenced by Hegel´s ideas. The genesis of this novel is in Bernardo Élis’ purpose of writing a monograph on land ownership conflicts in Goiás, later transformed into a new project, the novel O tronco. The same ideological position of the author gives the argumentative direction of the novel; his ideological background determines the choice of the theme, associated with images expanded by the procedures of argumentation that permeate the literary discourse. Thus, in face of the undeniable aesthetic value of Élis´work, we analyzed O tronco, specifically the argumentation that guides the literary narrative, enhanced by the artistic treatment of violence, its theme, as the result of the struggle for power. The novel was published in 1956; the author, heir to the literary regionalism of the 30s, through an artistic and calculated combination of the story of a local government and literature, accuses, judges the exacerbated domination of a particular social group in a region in Goiás.

O sertão literário na contemporaneidade: Guimarães Rosa e Ronaldo Correia de Brito

The text analyses the way in which regionalism, centered in the representation of social and human relations and related to universalism, has been applied to Guimarães Rosa and the way in which it appears nowadays in the work of Ronaldo Correia de Brito. This aim is pursued by means of reflections on the survival of the expression regionalism, its application to the work of Guimarães Rosa – especially in one composition of Tutameia – and its contemporary reappearance in a short story by Correia de Brito.

A formação da literatura brasileira e o regionalismo

This essay analyses the way by which Antonio Candido creates, in his study Formação da literatura brasileira, a pattern of interpretation to regionalism in Brazilian literary prose that will be developed in his whole work and recuperated by contemporary criticism.

Até os ossos: escavando o último romance de Graciliano Ramos

Starting from the set wherein Vidas Secas (1938) stands out, it is possible to establish parameters that make of Graciliano Ramos’ oeuvre the overcoming of realism due to the scope of representation and the quality of formal handling developed by the author, imbibed in the Brazilian and universal literary tradition, and whose result the criticism of Antonio Candido, skilful in taking into account the former critique, points out with precision. Perusing the facts that mark the creation and reception of Vidas Secas (including the production of the movie by Nelson Pereira dos Santos in 1963), the present work is a preamble for analyses that take into account the coherence of Graciliano Ramos with the absorption of expressive resources used by American and European practitioners of a literature engaged in adjusting the expression of contrasts and in reformulating the so-called regionalism
