Sensibilização cruzada entre estresse e nicotina

Em roedores, estudos demonstraram que a exposição repetida ao estresse aumenta a resposta locomotora a uma subsequente administração de nicotina. Este fenômeno tem sido denominado sensibilização cruzada entre estresse e droga. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo investigar as diferenças na sensibilização cruzada entre estresse e nicotina promovida pela exposição repetida a dois diferentes protocolos de estresse: estresse variável e estresse de imobilização. Com esse propósito, ratos adultos Wistar machos, foram submetidos aos protocolos do estresse variável que consistiu na exposição a vários tipos de estresses em horários variados por 10 dias e ao de estresse de imobilização que consistiu na imobilização dos animais em tubos de PVC, durante 1 hora diária por 10 dias. O grupo controle foi formado por animais mantidos nas mesmas condições laboratoriais, mas não expostos a nenhum desses tipos de estresse. Dez dias após a última sessão de estresse, os animais foram colocados individualmente na caixa de atividade para habituação por 20 minutos. Imediatamente após o término da habituação os animais receberam injeção subcutânea de salina (0.9% i.p.) ou nicotina (0,4 mg/Kg), e a atividade locomotora foi registrada por 20 minutos. Nossos resultados demonstraram que animais expostos ao protocolo de estresse variado apresentaram uma resposta locomotora sensibilizada a administração posterior de nicotina nos primeiros cinco minutos quando comparados aos outros grupos. Esses resultados sugerem a presença de sensibilização cruzada entre estresse variado e nicotina. Assim nossos resultados mostraram que o estresse pode ser um fator de suscetibilidade ao desenvolvimento da dependência

Literature has a role to contribute in the affective, cultural and cognitive development os chindren and it also accumulates the function to form readers among others. Among several genres, there are the fairy tales that are eternal in the western culture and they are the first genres to be read spontaneously at home or to be taught at school. As all the symbolic language, the fairy tales are steeped in ideologies. Thus, the aim of this research is to investigate if the existing ideologies in two fairy tales – Cinderella and The Sleeping Beauty, both from Perrault, influence children between 9 and 10 years old as subjects. An empiric research of quantitative and qualitative approach was done and its data analysis followed the method of Content Analysis, and it has as register analysis unit the word, and of context the sentence (children’s answer). The choice os the classify the categories it was used the syntactic criteria because it’s the most appropriate to refer to register units from ideologies identified by scholars in the area. The results show that children with 9 and 10 years old are influenced by implied ideologies existing in the two fairy tales used in the process of data collection

Marcadores de superfície de Células-tronco: estudo de reação cruzada inter-espécies

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult multipotent cells with fibroblastoid morphology and adherent to plastic. Furthermore, they can be obtained from different sources. Besides bone marrow, these cells are taken from umbilical cord blood, umbilical vein, saphenous vein, peripheral blood, arteries, liver and fetal pancreas, placenta, dental pulp and adipose tissue. MSCs derived from adipose tissue are important because of the abundant number of cells that can be obtained from this tissue, easy access and little discomfort to the patient. This study compared two techniques for obtaining MSCs from adipose tissue: mechanical dissociation (MD) and enzymatic digestion (ED). We also analyzed the inter-species cross-reactions using commercial monoclonal antibodies directed against surface antigens of stem cells from different species: mouse, horse, rabbit, monkey and human. We found that MD technique is favorable in relation to ED within 15 days of culture, and ED is more efficient in the first days of culture. The data also showed that MD causes less damage to cellular DNA. Estudo de uma ponte rolante comercial no transportede bobina de aço de 12 toneladas

This work aims to determine the stresses acting on the main beam of a crane to transport steel coils of up to twelve tons. To determine the stress it was made a revision of the knowledge of the mechanics of materials to apply the analytical method. Following a review of the finite element method is made to understand the same. To complete the study it was used the commercial software ANSYS to determine the stresses by finite element method, the program provides images that help to better understand the results obtained. With the results a comparison of the values of the tensions between the two methods (analytical and finite element) was made. To assist in the calculations it was used the NBR 8400, 1984 (Calculation of Lifting Equipment Load)

Aparelho expansor Haas com molas digitais para correção da mordida cruzada anterior e posterior

As mordidas cruzadas anteriores e posteriores podem ser tratadas desde as dentaduras decídua e mista. Embora a literatura descreva diversas técnicas para a correção individualizada desses problemas, o tratamento de pacientes com as duas alterações é pouco documentado. O presente artigo relata o tratamento desses problemas com o expansor tipo Haas associado a molas digitais. Essa alternativa apresenta boa previsibilidade, fácil confecção e instalação, e ótima eficiência.

Rentabilidade na semeadura cruzada da cultura da soja

Soybean cross-seeding tillage came from better spatial arrangement of plants per area, so some producers have opted for this tillage system, which consists in seeding the area in two steps, forming a chessboard with perpendicular lines of tillage. This study aims to analyse the soybean productivity and production costs when it planted in different dispositions of crossed tillage. The experiment was conducted during the harvests 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 at Lageado Farm of the FCA/UNESP, Botucatu-SP, in an area cultivated under no-tillage. The experimental design was in randomized block with five treatments and eight replications. The treatments were: seeding in parallel rows with recommended fertilization and recommended plant population (conventional); cross-seeding with doubled fertilization and doubled plant population; cross-seeding with recommended plant population and doubled fertilization; cross-seeding with doubled plant population and recommended fertilization; cross-seeding with fertilization and recommended plant population. The results showed statistical difference among the treatments, with increased productivity for the cross-seeding with doubled plant population and recommended fertilization. However the conventional tillage with parallel lines shows higher net earnings than soybean cross-seeding, being more profitable for producer.

The malocclusions are one focus of discussions in public health, due to which it is necessary to incorporate correction procedures that are inexpensive, easy to perform and which can be made in health services. Planas Direct Tracks meet such characteristics which make them advantageous for the crossbite correction. The aim of this study was to present a case in which correction of unilateral crossbite was performed with the resources available in a public clinic. This is a 6 year-old patient who presented functional unilateral crossbite in canines and posterior teeth. A cross decreased maxillary arch leading to a condition of unilateral posterior crossbite was detected. Occlusal adjustments were performed in canine and posterior teeth; however it was not enough to restore the occlusal balance. It was decided to prepare Planas Direct Tracks in canines, allowing functional balance, which prevented masticatory movement alteration during the growth phase and malocclusion correction. Controls were performed every six months to evaluate the patient's progress and whether or not new occlusal adjustments were necessary. Monitoring and treatment were conducted for 5 years, until stabilization of the permanent dentition ensuring treatment. It is concluded that Planas Direct Tracks were effective for the correction of unilateral posterior crossbite. So, it is essential to note that this procedure can be performed in public services.

Mordida cruzada posterior, correccion y consideraciones: caso clínico con 7 años de seguimiento

Early treatment of functional unilateral posterior crossbite during the mixed dentition is extremely important for contemporary Orthodontics, provides the correct positioning of osseous bases, teeth and temporomadibular joint when the stomatognathic system is in growth and development. These results generally develop into an adequate craniofacial relationship, reducing the necessity for more complex treatments at permanent dentition. The subject of this paper was to report patient 8 years old, diagnosed with functional unilateral posterior crossbite, and was treated by an expander appliance type Quad-helix emphasizing the long-term stability. The malocclusion was corrected in 3 months of active use of the appliance, 3 months for retention purposes and followed up during 7 years post-treatment. The stability in long term of functional unilateral posterior crossbite treated is closely related with early diagnostic, the elimination of the etiological factor associated with a correct appliance and the mechanic of treatment.

Envolvimento da neurotransmissão glutamatérgica da porção dorsolateral da ponte no controle cardiorrespiratório

Em condições de hipóxia (redução da pressão parcial de oxigênio), respostas reflexas de aumento da ventilação pulmonar, aumento da pressão arterial e diminuição da frequência cardíaca são observadas com o objetivo de aumentar os processos de trocas gasosas e perfusão tecidual. Para que essas respostas reflexas à hipóxia ocorram, quimiorreceptores periféricos são ativados pela redução da pressão parcial de oxigênio arterial e enviam sinais excitatórios para o sistema nervoso central, promovendo a excitação de importantes núcleos cerebrais envolvidos com o controle das atividades respiratória, simpática e parassimpática. Evidências experimentais sugerem que os neurônios do complexo parabraquial/Kölliker-Fuse (PBN/KF), importante região respiratória localizada na porção dorsolateral da ponte, contribuem para o processamento das respostas cardiorrespiratórias do quimiorreflexo. Contudo, os neurotransmissores envolvidos ainda não foram explorados. No presente projeto, exploraremos a hipótese de que a neurotransmissão glutamatérgica da região PBN/KF é importante para a manutenção da ventilação basal e para o processamento das respostas ventilatórias à hipóxia. Para tanto, utilizamos a técnica de microinjeção de agonistas e antagonistas dos receptores de L-glutamato no PBN/KF de animais anestesiados e não anestesiados, avaliando parâmetros ventilatórios (eletromiografia dos músculos diafragma e abdominal em animais anestesiados; e frequência respiratória, volume corrente e ventilação minuto em animais não anestesiados) e parâmetros cardiovasculares (pressão arterial e frequência cardíaca em ambas condições experimentais) em condições de repouso ou em situações de estimulação dos quimiorreceptores periféricos (com cianeto de potássio).
