En el municipio de Algete está prevista la construcción de una estación de depuración de aguas residuales, dentro de una iniciativa del Canal de Isabel II que incluye 21 proyectos para la mejora, ampliación o construcción de estaciones depuradoras de aguas residuales dentro de la Comunidad de Madrid. La E.D.A.R. a construir servirá para abastecer a la población, en su máximo estacional, durante los próximos 25 años, en los que se ha previsto un crecimiento considerable de la población (desde los 20.136 habitantes actuales hasta los 32.000 de diseño), sin variaciones estacionales de relevancia. Además, limitará los vertidos nocivos en el arroyo de la Torrecilla
