A 5V/1 V Switched Capacitor (SC) dc-dc converter designed for a 0.18μm CMOS process is analysed in detail, in this paper. Analytical equations are derived for the voltages and currents through the main components of the SC converter. The model includes switches, capacitors, equivalent series resistances and the load. The switches in the converter are represented by MOSFETs in the UMC 0.18μm CMOS process. The impact of system parameters on output voltage ripple are studied using the analytical expressions.

The calibration data set is from 1948 through 1988 and includes data from 268 joint temperature and precipitation stations, 152 streamflow stations (which are converted to runoff data), and 24 gridded 500-mbar pressure height nodes.

Navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) combined with diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DW-MRI) and tractography allows investigating functional anatomy of the human brain with high precision. Here we demonstrate that working memory (WM) processing of tactile temporal information is facilitated by delivering a single TMS pulse to the middle frontal gyrus (MFG) during memory maintenance. Facilitation was obtained only with a TMS pulse applied to a location of the MFG with anatomical connectivity to the primary somatosensory cortex (S1). TMS improved tactile WM also when distractive tactile stimuli interfered with memory maintenance. Moreover, TMS to the same MFG site attenuated somatosensory evoked responses (SEPs). The results suggest that the TMS-induced memory improvement is explained by increased top-down suppression of interfering sensory processing in S1 via the MFG-S1 link. The phases of the outsourcing process and the actions required are discussed. The most difficult and the most important phase of o a successful outsourcing process is to know what activities to outsource. The criteria for suppliers selection must be developed and should cover the reasons why the activity is being outsourced, the expected benefits and potential dangers. Contract negotiation is a very important phase of the outsourcing contract in which rules of the outsourcing are set. The transfer of activity phase corresponds to the reassignment of control of the outsourced activity from the outsourcer to the contractor.

Photon cutting with efficiencies up to 400% is demonstrated in Erx Y2-x Si2 O7 films grown on Si and its concentration dependence is analyzed. The cutting is the result of cross-energy-transfer processes occurring within a single rare earth (Er3+) acting as both sensitizer and activator. Similarities with upconversion are revealed and possible applications in solar cells are discussed. © 2010 The American Physical Society.

淡水生态系统中高营养级类群可以对低营养级类群产生强烈的影响,最终导致整个生态环境的改变,这一现象被称作下行(topdown)效应。本文对topdown的含义特别是鱼类所产生topdown效应的结果进行了阐述,提出了topdown效应还表现在当原来生态系统中的高营养级类群缺少时,也会造成生态系统结构与功能发生变化的观点。最后,根据淡水生态系统topdown效应的特点,认为在淡水生态系统的生物多样性保护中,应注意高营养级类群的保护和谨慎地对待引种问题

We show that miscible two-layer free-surface flows of varying viscosity down an inclined substrate are different in their stability characteristics from both immiscible two-layer flows, and flows with viscosity gradients spanning the entire flow. New instability modes arise when the critical layer of the viscosity transport equation overlaps the viscosity gradient. A lubricating configuration with a less viscous wall layer is identified to be the most stabilizing at moderate miscibility (moderate Peclet numbers). This also is in contrast with the immiscible case, where the lubrication configuration is always destabilizing. The co-existence that we find under certain circumstances, of several growing overlap modes, the usual surface mode, and a Tollmien-Schlichting mode, presents interesting new possibilities for nonlinear breakdown. © 2013 AIP Publishing LLC.
