This article offers theoretical and practical elements for an analysis of the Worker's Health Care Program developed by the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). From a determined locus, the region of Franca, State of São Paulo, it aims at identifying the challenges for implementation of the National Occupational Health Policy, due to the particularities of the work/health relationship within the sugarcane agro-industry. It is based on group interviews involving health workers, specifically sanitary inspectors and the worker's health interlocutors. The results showed that health care professionals must be better prepared, from the technical point of view, to be able to perform actions related to workers' health. These results also indicated the need for a greater integration between health services, particularly when damage notification and workers' health surveillance are concerned.

Sugar cane production is of the utmost importance to the economy of the entire Brazil, due to its multiple utility, being used as the raw material for the manufacture of various items, particularly, sugar and alcohol. In areas of sugarcane monoculture, the appropriate management of soils and water is essential, not only for the maintenance of the quality of the environment, but also for the quality of life of the population. Among the main impacts generated by the cultivation of sugar cane, stands out the withdrawal of the riparian forest, which is essential to the balance and maintenance of the ecosystem. Before that, the present work aimed at mapping the environmentally vulnerable areas in the basin of a tributary of the Corumbataí river, located in the district Santa Olímpia, in the city of Piracicaba-SP. For the purpose, techniques were used in Geoprocessing, aiming to produce thematic maps of Slope, for the Use and Occupation of Land, of Permanent Preservation Areas (APP), Soil and Geological of the basin of interest. From these mappings, the analysis was performed multi-criteria, which resulted in the Map of Environmental Vulnerability. This mapping environmental assessment of the study area, indicating proposals of practices for the management and conservation of soil and water resources, for the purpose of improving the environmental quality of the analyzed area. In this way, the research of this nature, may help in the decision-making on the part of the governmental bodies as well as civil society

Avaliação do desempenho ambiental da produção canavieira com colheita mecanizada: contribuição à implantação de um sistema simplificado de gestão ambiental da propriedade

The consuming of the natural resources in the agricultural sector does not represent only one external factor of the productive process, but also it implies in a bigger cost for the production, justified for this environmental degradation. In view of the necessity of evaluating the sustainment of the agricultural businesses, the use of performance indicators if makes of extreme importance. The measurement of the support through environmentalindicators is one of the most accepted forms of performing the evaluation of one given agricultural activity. In this context, the Base System for Eco-certification of Agricultural Businesses (Eco-cert Rural) developed by the Embrapa Environment at Jaguariúna/SP, has for purpose to present a method of evaluation of the agricultural businesses, not only of the point of view of the ecological performance, as well as considering the social, economic and organizational aspects. Through the analysis of the performance of the activity and the regularization of the disconformities found, it makes possible the eco-certification of the activities in the varied existing protocols, offering technologies designed to the sustainable development of the agricultural businesses. Using Eco-cert.Rural, this work evaluated the contribution of the use of mechanized harvest in sugar cane handling, front to the traditional system of manual harvest, using the fire. In the Sugar Cane Activity General Performance Index, Agrícola Rio Claro scored 2,08 of a maximum of 15. Amongst all the indicators, those wich reached performance worse had been related to the Use of Energy and the Income, by increasing fossil fuel consumptiom, and implying income concentration due to resignations of rural workers. Obtenção de constantes elásticas da madeira de duas espécies de Pinus sp

There are many studies about longitudinal modulus of elasticity of wood, but you can´t say the same of transverse modulus, especially for conifers. The study aimed to characterize and compare the species Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and Pinus elliottii var. elliottii x Pinus cariabeae hondurensis (hybrid), and the longitudinal modulus of elasticity (E) and lateral (G) in bending, to analyze the modulus of elasticity in different spaces and to verify the species studied the ideal range is equal to 21 times the height of the specimen, as prescribed in the normative document NBR 7190/1997, as well as analyzing the relationship G = E/20 defined in the normative document NBR 7190/1997. The wood came from the farm located in Paranapanema, split at the mill São José and the rest of the work was conducted at the Experimental Itapeva Campus - UNESP. Were removed fourteen specimens of each species. The average values of the modulus of elasticity and cross were, respectively, 5828 MPa and 452 MPa for Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and 6407 MPa and 320 MPa for the species of Pinus elliottii var. elliottii x Pinus cariabeae hondurensis (hybrid). The trend lines for the plotted graphs showed an exponential behavior to near linear 21he will equal the constant after this value. We have found the relationship G = E/13, for Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and G = E/20 for hybrid. The results of the modulus and strength for Pinus elliottii var. elliottii and the hybrid were lower than those reported in the literature, showing that this batch inferior quality to apply to structures

Reposição florestal obrigatória no município de Presidente Venceslau

The growing concern over deforestation of native forests from Brazil to the marketing of wood in various sectors had made greater attention from lawmakers. In this context, did the reforestation, which came into existence to meet the demand for forest raw material. This paper attempts to make a survey, focusing on the interplay between small and medium producers, consumers of forest products and reforestation associations. For this, we conducted a survey of legislation at the federal and state since the emergence, evolution and current context for understanding the legal basis on the subject. In addition, literature reviews have been made seeking to direct the concepts and importance of reforestation, reforestation, forest plantations and productive use of the species Eucalyptus sp for the supply of forest raw material. Approach was also sought on the structure of the system of reforestation of the state of Sao Paulo and their assignments. We also present an in loco study of Chairman Wenceslas municipality in order to analyze the participation of the municipality in the reforest the region of Pontal Paranapanema and actions of regulatory agencies. As a result presents a survey of consumers of timber enterprises in the municipality of President Wenceslas based on the resolution SMA No. 082/2008, which describes the characteristics of these companies and their fields of activity

We intend to expose this paper a brief review about the social factors that include the capitalist system. Having the city of Rafard as our focus of study, we are going to analyze how agribusiness and migration have great political significance in this small town, and still are determining factors for socio-cultural training of its citizens, as well the formation and economic development of their own city. We are going to observe how a town with only 8.599 inhabitants is subjected to the laws dictated by capital through the interference of a large sugarcane agro industrial production unit present in its territory

Filogeografia e estrutura populacional de Astyanax paranae (Pisces: Characidae) na Bacia do rio Paranapanema

Atualmente, crescentes esforços vêm sendo desenvolvidos no sentido de se caracterizar a ictiofauna Neotropical de riachos do ponto de vista taxonômico e sistemático, porém a estrutura genética destas populações ainda é pouco conhecida, sendo escassos os estudos sobre filogeografia dessa ictiofauna. Considerando que Astyanax paranae representa a única espécie do complexo scabripinnis na bacia do Alto rio Paraná, a ausência de dados moleculares populacionais e as evidências citogenéticas e morfológicas de que esta espécie não represente uma unidade monofilética, faz-se necessário um amplo estudo filogeográfico e filogenético em Astyanax paranae. O presente projeto teve como objetivo caracterizar a variabilidade genética em populações de Astyanax paranae e estabelecer as relações filogenéticas filogeográficas entre as linhagens mitocondriais na bacia do rio Paranapanema. As análises foram realizadas através da análise de sequências do DNA mitocondrial a partir do gene Citocromo B (cyt b) que foram completamente seqüenciados. Foram analisadas 8 populações de Astyanax paranae: 2 populações da bacia do rio Pardo, 1 Córrego Hortelã, 2 Véu de Noiva, Botucatu/SP; 4 populações da bacia do rio Tibagi, 1 população Maria da Serra/PR; 1 Ponta Grossa/PR, 1 Cambé/PR, 1 Castrolanda/PR; 1 população do rio Itapetiniga, rio Itapetininga, Itapetiniga/SP.; o número de indivíduos por população variou de 1 a 5. Como grupo externo foram analisados 1 população de Astyanax altiparanae com 3 indivíduos (Véu de Noiva pt2, Botucatu/SP); 1 população de Astyanax fasciatus com 5 indivíduos (região de Itapetiniga/SP) e 1 população de Astyanax bockmanni com 2 indivíduos (Véu de Noiva pt2, Botucatu/SP); num total de 39 indivíduos.
