Rugosidade superficial e adesão bacteriana em compósitos com nanopartículas após acabamento e polimento

Objective: To evaluate in vitro the surface roughness and bacterial adhesion of nanoparticle composites, after being subjected to different finishing and polishing systems. Materials and Methods: 66 specimens were prepared, and 30 with Filtek Z350 XT (3M ESPE, USA) and 30 with the resin IPS Empress Direct (Ivoclar Vivadent, USA), divided into 6 groups (n = 10 ). Six specimens were prepared for analysis in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) .Each kind of resin was subjected to finishing and polishing systems: Sof-Lex Pop-On discs (3M ESPE, USA) and AstropolTM system (Ivoclar Vivadent , USA), featuring the experimental group. The control group did not undergo any kind of finishing and polishing technique. The average roughness (Ra) in both groups was measured using a roughness in the setting of 0.25 mm (cut off) and surface images obtained with photomicrographs taken with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) magnified 500 times. Bacterial adherence was evaluated by determining the absorbance (OD) of the suspension of adhered cells by spectrophotometer at 570 nm. The results were submitted for analyzed with 2-way ANOVA at α=.05 and Tukey multiple comparison tests. Results: Statistically significant differences were found between the groups in terms of roughness and bacterial adhesion. Filtek Z350 XT for resin were no differences between the tested finishing and polishing systems, where the system of lowest surface roughness was the Sof-Lex Pop-On. To the resin IPS Empress Direct, the finishing and polishing system Astropol, had lower results of surface roughness. As for bacterial adhesion, the lowest optical density value for Filtek Z350 XT was for the group that used the finishing and polishing system Sof-Lex Pop-On and the resin IPS Empress Direct the group that used the Astropol system. In addition, there was a positive correlation between surface roughness and bacterial adhesion on polished surfaces (r = 0.612) Conclusions: surface roughness and bacterial adhesion are closely related. The finishing and polishing Sof-Lex Pop-On system is more suitable for nanoparticulate Filtek Z350 XT and the finishing and polishing system Astropol for resin nanohíbrida IPS Empress Direct.

Diplomacia y misión en Europa durante la Guerra de Sucesión: los Habsburgo- Wolfenbüttel, el estado de Milán y el catolicismo septentrional

Las perspectivas geopolíticas de la guerra de Sucesion espanola traspasaron ampliamente los limites de la herencia territorial de Carlos II. El político enlace del candidato austriaco al trono de Madrid, Carlos III de Austria, con Isabel Cristina de Braunschweig-Wolfenbuttel, una princesa luterana convertida ex profeso al catolicismo, vinculó las dos dinastias con el esfuerzo misionero de la Santa Sede en el norte del Sacro Imperio. En el presente estudio se propone reconstruir la relacion de la red diplomatica Wolfenbuttel con el papado y la monarquia carolina, ademas de apuntar la difusa -pero constante- presencia de la soberana dentro del proceso de financiación lombarda del misionalismo germánico a comienzos del Setecientos.

“Se le dé papel, prensa y letras”. Albert O’Farail y el libro misionero "The Life of the Virgin Marie" (1671-1693)

El proyecto tipográfico del irlandés Albert O’Farail se concibió como un libro misionero destinado a la empresa confesional que la monarquía de España desarrollaba en las Islas Británicas desde comienzos del Seiscientos. Las traducciones de distintos tratados doctrinales y teológicos, representados por su devoción particular a la Virgen María, procuraban acercar la religión a los católicos del Norte a través de mecanismos de proximidad cultural como complemento a la predicación de los ministros espirituales patrocinados por Carlos II. El empeño por dar a las prensas esta miscelánea de obras, financiada por la corona y compuesta por el arte de su propio autor, discurrió en paralelo a la querella abierta por su esposa, María Manuela Laínez, para reivindicar sus derechos nobiliarios al título marquesal de Mayo. Tanto en Madrid como en Roma, la imbricación de ambos negociados determinó su malograda resolución.

Between "uxor", "mater" and "concubina". Profile and identity of the Emperor Constantine in Late Roman legislation

We aspire to shape the Constantine’s personality in particular by analyzing his loving relationship, first with Minervina and then with Fausta, and not forgetting the bond with his mother Helena, hence the reference to uxor, mater and concubina in our title. We will analyze if these women exercised any influence on the composition of his production rules and, if so, to what extent they were able to determine the historical development of the following decades. From this point of view we must consider in general the emperor had to combine their political claims and government with these relationships, showing great skill in handling times and ways, always putting the first to the second.

Dissilicato de lítio

De forma a completar as necessidades estéticas, que são cada vez mais exigidas pela sociedade, as cerâmicas dentárias têm apresentado rápida evolução com o intuito de melhorar as suas propriedades físicas e mecânicas, como também óticas. O desenvolvimento de novos materiais permitiu a aplicação e o progresso dos sistemas totalmente cerâmicos utilizados na área da medicina dentária. Pelas suas características estéticas relativamente aos sistemas metalocerâmicos, rapidamente os sistemas totalmente cerâmicos ocuparam o seu lugar no mercado, levando à atenção de médicos dentistas, como dos próprios pacientes. Dentro destes sistemas totalmente cerâmicos, encontra-se a cerâmica reforçada com dissilicato de lítio. Esta revisão narrativa da literatura teve como objetivo descrever as características da cerâmica dissilicato de lítio de forma a tornar possível compreender em que situações clinicas poderá ser utilizada, bem como, de que forma é possível otimizar os processos laboratoriais. Avaliação da atividade de mineração de areia em Imperatriz – MA

Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar qualitativamente a atividade de mineração de areia por draga na dinâmica fluvial do Rio Tocantins, no limítrofe do município de Imperatriz. A pesquisa foi realizada entre 2013 e 2014, com base na abordagem e na metodologia qualitativa. Foram realizadas visitas aos locais de extração, observação, registro por meio de imagens fotográficas, aplicação de questionário, estudo bibliográfico e consultas a sites. A mineração de areia tornou-se, um dos grandes contribuintes para o desenvolvimento socioeconômico do município, por gerar serviço direto e indireto. Porém, ao mesmo tempo, expõe traço impactante de ordem antrópica, representado pela modificação paisagística ribeirinha, dos logradouros e via de acesso das jazidas aos pontos de comercialização e aplicação da areia. Nos dados colhidos durante o período da pesquisa, não foram observados políticas ou projetos que viabilizem a mineração de forma sustentável no município, nem tão pouco a revitalização para as áreas degradadas.
