Frecuencia de la cesárea en Andalucía: relación con factores sociales, clínicos y de los servicios sanitarios (2007-2009).

BACKGROUND Increasing trend and geographical variations in the use of caesarean section suggest the influence of non-clinical factors. The objective was to describe the use of caesarean section in the Andalusian region in Spain by exploring the role of social, clinical, and health services variables. METHODS A cross-sectional study was carried out using vital statistics. It involves all births occurred in Andalusia during the period of 2007-2009. The dependent variable was the use of caesarean section and the set of covariates were classified into three groups: those with a clinical meaning, those related to the health services organization, and those with a social significance. Multivariate logistic regressions were used. RESULTS In the data set of 293,558 births, the prevalence of caesarean delivery was 24.8%. The multivariate analysis highlights the labour complications as the clinical variable with the highest odds ratio (OR=19.36). Regarding the health services variables, the odds of experiencing a caesarean delivery were 55% higher on weekdays than on weekends. Cádiz was the province with the highest OR for caesarean section (comparison between Cádiz and Almería: OR=1,21) where the ratio between births in public and private hospitals was 3.7. The frequency of caesarean section was 34% higher in women with third level education than those with no education. CONCLUSIONS Labour complication is the most influential variable for caesarean section. Caesarean birth rate is above the accepted standards for all social classes and increases with educational level. Inter-provincial differences reflect different patterns with regard to the use of private medicine.

L 'objectiu d'aquest projecte és implementar un sistema de monitorització de serveis en Linux que ofereixi certes funcionalitats. S'estudien diferents eines de monitorització Open Source competents al sector. S'utilitza Nagios com a sistema de monitorització principal adaptant-lo a les necessitats del projecte.

Contribution to Asterisk Open Source Project

With this final master thesis we are going to contribute to the Asterisk open source project. Asterisk is an open source project that started with the main objective of develop an IP telephony platform, completely based on Software (so not hardware dependent) and under an open license like GPL. This project was started on 1999 by the software engineer Mark Spencer at Digium. The main motivation of that open source project was that the telecommunications sector is lack of open solutions, and most of the available solutions are based on proprietary standards, which are close and not compatible between them. Behind the Asterisk project there is a company, Digum, which is the project leading since the project was originated in its laboratories. This company has some of its employees fully dedicated to contribute to the Asterisk project, and also provide the whole infrastructure required by the open source project. But the business of Digium isn't based on licensing of products due to the open source nature of Asterisk, but it's based on offering services around Asteriskand designing and selling some hardware components to be used with Asterisk. The Asterisk project has grown up a lot since its birth, offering in its latest versions advanced functionalities for managing calls and compatibility with some hardware that previously was exclusive of proprietary solutions. Due to that, Asterisk is becoming a serious alternative to all these proprietaries solutions because it has reached a level of maturity that makes it very stable. In addition, as it is open source, it can be fully customized to a givenrequirement, which could be impossible with the proprietaries solutions. Due to the bigness that is reaching the project, every day there are more companies which develop value added software for telephony platforms, that are seriously evaluating the option of make their software fully compatible withAsterisk platforms. All these factors make Asterisk being a consolidated project but in constant evolution, trying to offer all those functionalities offered by proprietaries solutions. This final master thesis will be divided mainly in two blocks totally complementaries. In the first block we will analyze Asterisk as an open source project and Asterisk as a telephony platform (PBX). As a result of this analysis we will generate a document, written in English because it is Asterisk project's official language, which could be used by future contributors as an starting point on joining Asterisk. On the second block we will proceed with a development contribution to the Asterisk project. We will have several options in the form that we do the contribution, such as solving bugs, developing new functionalities or start an Asterisk satellite project. The type of contribution will depend on the needs of the project on that moment.

Bibliotecarios de investigación en un entorno virtual: nuevas habilidades, nuevos servicios

En aquest article es posen de manifest tant les noves funcions adquirides pels bibliotecaris de recerca de la UOC com les noves competències que requereix aquest perfil professional, partint de l'experiència de la Biblioteca Virtual (BV) de la UOC. En un context de creació d'unitats de bibliometria, la BV de la UOC també ha trobat la seva manera d'integrar-se dins la Universitat a través dels seus estudis bibliomètrics i altres serveis de suport a la recerca. Un grup de bibliotecaris de recerca dóna suport als investigadors des de l'inici del procés de recerca fins a l'avaluació de la seva producció científica i, d'altra banda, també dóna suport en l'anàlisi de dades bibliomètriques per a la presa de decisions estratègiques de la Universitat.

Plan de mejora para la gestión de los servicios informáticos: ITSM + ITIL v3

El objetivo del presente proyecto es la elaboración de un plan empresarial o conjunto de buenas prácticas, el cual pueda ser utilizado como guía para la mejora de servicios por una organización TIC. La implantación y puesta en valor de dicho conjunto de buenas prácticas nos va a permitir mejorar la calidad en aspectos relativos en cuanto a la gestión de servicios se refiere.

Tendencias y fenómenos tecnológicos: Insights como técnica para aprender del pasado. Telecomunicaciones en España 1995-2006

El análisis retrospectivo de las causas y consecuencias de fenómenos tecnológicos y telecomunicativos y el hallazgo de los elementos o los parámetros que provocan que en situaciones y proyectos empresariales similares los resultados sean dispares es tarea científicamente compleja. A tal efecto, y ante la dificultad que entraña ese cometido, en esta investigación procedemos a aplicar la técnica de los insights como punto de partida para el desarrollo de productos tecnológicamente innovadores, que realmente pueden satisfacer las necesidades ocultas del consumidor. Como muestra, analizamos la aplicación de la técnica de los insights en un operador de telecomunicaciones y una apuesta tecnológica (Vodafone y la tecnología PLC) en la fase de desarrollo de las telecomunicaciones en España desde 1995 a 2006.

Análisis de contenidos de páginas web sobre servicios de control de plagas en salud pública

Introduction: Our goal was to know the web contents and examine the technical information pest control services available to users through their webpages. Method: A total of 70 webpages from biocides services in the province of Málaga (Spain) were analyzed. We used 15 evaluation indicators grouped into 5 parameters relating to data of the service provider; information’s reliability and services; accuracy of content and writing style; technical resources and interaction with the users. As test instruments were used sectoral legislation, official records of products and deliveries, standards and technical guides. Results: Companies showed a remarkable degree of awareness with the implementation and use of new technologies. Aspects negative that they can have an impact on the confidence of users, relating to the reliability of the information and deficiencies associated with the description of the services portfolio and credentials of the companies were identified. The integration and use of collaborative platforms 2.0 was poorly developed and squandered. Discussion: It is possible to improve the trust of users intervening in those aspects that affect the reliability of the information provided on the web.

El TJUE ha consagrado en sus sentencias Viking, Laval, Rüffert y Comisión contra Luxemburgo una interpretación restrictiva de la directiva 96/71/CE sobre el desplazamiento de trabajadores en el marco de prestación de servicios transnacional, dando preponderancia a los principios económicos de la UE, frente a los sociales, y favoreciendo el dumping social. El objetivo será analizar si los fundamentos jurídicos de las sentencias se pueden rebatir, y hacer especial hincapié en el posicionamiento de la Confederación Europea de Sindicatos a este respecto.

Autoridad de certificación PKI con servicios en línea

El present TFC consisteix en una aplicació web que simula una Autoritat Certificadora en una PKI amb serveis en línea. Les operacions que realitza la CA,son: genera el seu parell de Claus, el seu certificat auto signat, els parells de Claus dels usuaris i els seus certificats, la base de dades de l¿aplicació i la llista de certificats revocats.Tots els certificats generats son X509V3, mentre que les Claus son totes RSA de 2048 bits.

Facturación de servicios

Este proyecto se ha realizado mediante un convenio de prácticas con la empresa UNIT4 (Barberà del Vallès). Se basa en el desarrollo de un nuevo módulo enfocado hacia compañías distribuidoras de productos, que será incorporado en el software de gestión que vende la empresa. Este módulo consistirá en facturar algunos servicios ofrecidos en los envíos de paquetes, que se incluirán en el albarán de entrega de los mismos.
