This thesis aims to analyze the applicability of Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC to improve processes focused on agriculture. We discuss the origins of each system separately, Lean Manufacturing, the Toyota plants in Japan, and Six Sigma, by Motorola in the U.S., and then appears to merge them and can meet their complementarities and synergy between their tools. Finally, we describe a case study focused on the harvesting department, applicable to all types of manuals crops, covering the production of fruits, vegetables and greens. With the development of Digital TV, the equipments are becoming more and more modernized in order to popular- ize the information that soon might reach all Brazilian families. That way, we open a space for discussion about the many directions that the usability applied on ISDB-Tb interactivity (Brazilian System of Digital Television) can take. This paper approaches the questions connected to the concept of usability and also the subjects related to the life cycle of some technologies (existence time, obsolescence) Also talks with the definition of interactivityon Digital Television since it is responsible for the emergence of a new contingent of interacting people which goes from the computer and portable equipments users to the passive TV viewers. It’s possible to conclude that the Human-Digital TV Interaction (HDTVI) comprehends the synergy between three actants on Digital TV: the col- lective (or not) TV viewer; the interface and the issuer who can be represented by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) service.

Associação entre a doença periodontal e doenças sistêmicas crônicas: revisão de literatura

Periodontal disease has been increasingly associated as a supporting factor, and even a precursor to some systemic diseases. Just aim of this paper was to analyze by reviewing the literature, the possible mechanisms involved in the etiopathogenesis of periodontal disease that are common to the current systemic diseases such as obesity, atherosclerosis, diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. The articles were analyzed with in the publication period of the years 2006 to 2011 and were surveyed in the databases PubMed, LILACS and SciELO. Of a total of 907 articles found by searching the indices and their associations, were selected by inclusion criteria 93 articles. For the preparation of this literature review, only 24 articles were selected because they are based on inflammatory mechanisms, metabolic and infectious, where the considerations for the strongest associations in the literature. This literature review reinforces the association of periodontal disease with systemic diseases analyzed due to presence of inflammatory and immunological mechanisms and similar synergism betwen the two diseases, but some hypotheses still need further clarification. The professional should stick to recent discoveries associations to promote periodontal treatment in preventing the development of systemic diseases, as well as in maintaining the systemic health of patients already suffering from chronic systemic diseases.

This paper studies the communication and information management in the perspective of corporate social responsibility. We assume that a company becomes socially responsible when it’s necessary implementing a communication and information policy able to align their business management processes to social responsibility policies, thus creating the necessary, fundamental synergy to their audiences. We raised the hypothesis that corporate social responsibility, in order to be incorporated on a business process management, necessarily involves a transformation in the form of information management and communication - understood as strategic skills which enable the generation of knowledge creation value and the acquisition of awareness of ethical conduct and company's corporate organizational culture as a mirror, reflected to its internal and external audiences. Therefore, this study was supported by a case study in a retail company in Bauru city, regarded as a socially responsible company. Thus, we proceeded to develop a descriptive-exploratory field research, by using the technique of structured interviews which were conducted with the most representative considered leaders of the company - management, store managers, responsible CSR department and advertising agency

Planejamento participativo e sua intersecção com as relações públicas: reflexões sobre a metodologia PACA

El fenómeno de la globalización está directamente relacionado a la expansión de mercados. Éstos no conocen fronteras e impactan la vida en todas las sociedades alrededor del mundo. En ese contexto, quedan fragilizados los que tienen menos poder de compra o poder tecnológico. Para sobrevivir a esta tendencia, comunidades se estructuran de modo a promover el desarrollo económico local. Son, así, conjugados esfuerzos por intermedio de planeamientos que involucran y estimulan la participación de actores locales. Una de las metodologías que se ha mostrado eficiente para un proyecto participativo es la PACA, acrónimo de Participatory Appraisal of Competitive Advantage. Este estudio busca presentar y reflexionar, por medio de una investigación bibliográfica, la posible intersección entre planeamiento participativo y las Relaciones Públicas, resaltando para tal, la metodología PACA. En resumen, la metodología PACA exige el establecimiento de un efectivo relacionamiento entre las personas y organizaciones involucradas para lograr sus objetivos. Es una técnica de planeamiento participativo que conduce al desarrollo económico local por promover la sinergia de actores de la comunidad. Como resultado de la investigación fue posible identificar que las actividades que dan soporte a la metodología PACA son intrínsecamente relacionadas a las actividades de Relaciones Públicas, a medida que es función primaria de estos profesionales el uso de destrezas educacionales y comunicacionales para promover el establecimiento de relacionamiento entre individuos con organizaciones, instituciones y entidades.

Este texto pretende discutir a importância do desenho à mão livre no processo projetivo arquitetônico inserido no contexto da era digital, por meio do uso das mesas digitais, comumente chamadas de tablets. A relevância desta discussão consiste em identificar como os desenhos feitos com tablets mantêm a percepção e o traço individual de cada pessoa. Pretende-se, com isto, não apenas rever e atualizar as disciplinas de desenho nos cursos de arquitetura, suas práticas e seus procedimentos, mas também, discutir o papel da linguagem e representação – analógica ou digital – e sua integração com outras disciplinas. São apresentadas algumas considerações sobre o uso dessa ferramenta nas seguintes disciplinas: História da Arquitetura e Urbanismo, Paisagismo e Projeto, ministradas no Instituto de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade de São Paulo, Brasil. As tablets são apresentadas como um meio de conexão entre o projeto analógico e digital, capazes de capturar a pressão e a velocidade do traço, aproximando a potencialidade e racionalidade do processo feito no computador com o gesto criativo do desenho à mão livre, resultando em uma sinergia entre essas duas linguagens.
