O estudo aborda o tema Educao e Higienismo. O objetivo analisar a relao entre educao e higienismo e sua materializao nos discursos de homens de cincia, veiculados em periódicos pedaggicos produzidos no Estado do Par, Brasil, publicados entre os anos 1891- 1912, para entender o sentido epistmico que assumiram no contexto da colonialidade latino-americana. Neste sentido, esta tese partiu da seguinte questo: no contexto da colonialidade latino-americana, que sentidos assumiram os discursos que relacionam educao e higienismo, produzidos por homens de cincia do Par, entre os anos 1891-1912, materializados em periódicos educacionais? Para tanto, adotou-se a pesquisa documental e bibliogrfica. Epistemologicamente, nos pautamos na Nova História Cultural e na Teoria Decolonial. As fontes exploradas so artigos sobre educao e higienismo publicados nos periódicos: Revista Educao e Ensino, A Escola, Revista do Ensino. Para sua anlise foram articuladas ao corpus das fontes documentos oficias como: Legislao educacional (regimentos escolares, decretos e pareceres); Relatrios de rgos governamentais responsveis pela instruo e pela sade no Brasil, particularmente no Par. Os resultados revelam que ao tratar de educao em associao com o iderio mdico-higienista, as publicaes constantes nos periódicos produziram representaes que negavam os saberes das populaes originrias do continente e de outras consideradas inferiores, como negros e brancos empobrecidos. Nestas produes os alunos dessas populaes so comparados cera e s plantas por serem frgeis e influenciveis pela ao de adultos considerados incivilizados. Desta forma, os discursos em defesa da higienizao do espao, do tempo e das atividades escolares indicados nos periódicos acabaram por tentar moldar corpos, coraes e mentes de crianas e adolescentes num processo onde a colonialidade do poder se manifesta em seus mbitos epistemolgico (colonialidade do saber) e ontolgico (colonialidade do ser). Portanto, a tese defendida neste estudo que a racionalidade mdico-higinica materializada nos discursos de homens de cincia presentes nos periódicos pedaggicos produzidos no Estado do Par, Brasil, publicados entre os anos 1891-1912 corroborou a Colonialidade que se instaurou na Amrica Latina.

Partindo-se do pressuposto de que existe uma interligao, por meio da presena da literatura/cultura portuguesa, entre Portugal e a cidade de So Paulo no perodo de 1900-1922, caracterizado ainda como pr-modernista brasileiro , a proposta deste texto dirige-se ao comentrio de alguns periódicos (O Estado de S. Paulo; A Vida Moderna; O Pirralho), visto que [...] h uma história da literatura que se projeta na cidade de S. Paulo; e h uma história da cidade de S. Paulo que se projeta na literatura. (CANDIDO, 1975).Assim, pretende-se verificar como a presena da literatura/cultura portuguesa (principalmente autores cannicos do sculo XIX) repercutiu na vida social e intelectual da cidade de So Paulo, para melhor compreenso das formas de sociabilidade, bem como a caracterizao das diferentes etapas percorridas pela literatura brasileira em So Paulo.

This article presents part of a larger study on the use of reference sources to perform bibliographical search by graduate students in Education. Data relating to the use of the scientific journals by these students are presented and discussed. Sixty Education graduate students, 28 Master degree and 32 Doctoral, answered an electronic questionnaire. The students indicated the types of articles usually read and the importance attributed to each one. For each of treated themes in the electronic questionnaire, data are initially presented and analyzed in the set of the 60 participants of the study and then compared between master and doctoral students. Were used the Chi-squared (?2) test, the Fisher exact test and the Spearmans correlation coefficient. Research reports were more frequently pointed out but less valued in comparison to articles referring to critical review and theoretical essay. Methodological articles, appearing in fourth position according to reading frequency and importance attributed, are more valued by doctoral than master students. The students read these articles using different procedures. The possible reasons for the students valorizing the articles of critical review and theoretical essays are discussed. The present study intends to offer a contribution to understand the use of scientific information by students, describing some graduate students habits related to information seeking in scientific journals, and reading of the articles published.

Information Science (IS) research has strongly grown in Brazil, in the last decade, and, as a consequence, it was possible to observe a growth of the support given by the Brazilian National Scientific and Technological Development Council - CNPq. In this sense, this paper aims to analyze the scientific production (journal papers) of the 15 IS researchers who have the highest level research fellowships during the period between 2001 and 2010. Data were analyzed in terms of bibliographic dispersion, internationalization, and scientific collaboration as well as in terms of the most prominent journals. The results (219 papers) evidence an average of around 1.5 papers per author per year and a group of 63 different journals (60% evaluated under levels Qualis A1 and B1). The journal DataGramaZero is strongly present since it responds for 22% of the whole production. It was possible to observe a still shy presence of foreign journals and none of them belong to the Anglo-Saxon environment. The kind of authorship is well-balanced between individual and collective ones, including inter-institutional collaboration. It is possible to conclude that this group is mature and very productive, and it represents an academical IS leadership in Brazil but still lacks more international visibility.

This article aims to present dada from a research about the construction of social knowledge under the Piagetian perspective. Beliefs of children and adolescents about not to learn were investigated. 80 individuals aged 6 to 16 years participated of this study. They had to answer to three methodological tools: a drawing, the analysis of a history and the analysis of a film which involved situations of not learning. It will be presented here the main results of the drawing task. Among other results, data indicate that a significant part of the participants blame the students themselves for not learning, by factors such as indiscipline and lack of motivation. Results also show that Brazilian individuals are not in advanced levels of understanding of social reality, even at older ages.

The colection História Nova do Brasil, produced and published in the early 1960s by a group of intellectuals of the Instituto Superior de Estudos Brasileiros (ISEB), has become a field of discussion and debate among military and the left after 1964. Accused of promoting communist subversion, the collection had a new methodology to analyze the history of Brazil, with marxist approach. For this and other reasons, copies were seized by military agencies and the authors were indicted in military investigations, accused of violating the National Security Law.

A lgica instantnea da sociedade informacional no permite que a maioria dos meios de comunicao abra espao para a história de vida das fontes jornalsticas, muito menos das annimas. A instantaneidade com que os fatos tm de chegar ao receptor no compatvel com o exerccio jornalstico que busca a densidade, o aprofundamento das relaes sociais. Aluga-se meu apego: a história de vida dos anunciantes de Classificados busca apontar uma alternativa para o jornalismo oficial e superficial. Trata-se de um livro-reportagem de perfil que tenta mapear traos e mudanas da identidade dos annimos, apontando-os como agentes sociais de suas prprias vidas e das vidas alheias. A partir dos preceitos da psicologia social e da antropologia, busca-se definir a identidade como um processo socialmente construdo e sujeito a constantes mutaes. Embudo dessa premissa, o Jornalismo Literrio aparece como opo que permite o aprofundamento na cobertura dos fatos e a contextualizao dos fenmenos decorrentes dele. O contedo do livro-reportagem possui dez perfis que contam fragmentos da vida, dos anseios e das angstias de anunciantes dos Classificados do Jornal da Cidade de Bauru (SP) que coabitam o municpio com as fontes oficiais utilizadas pelos jornais mas que, porm, no tm a mesma visibilidade nem so encarados como fundamentais para nossa realidade

This paper aims at observing a particular case of an authors and self-translators style in the pair of works Viva o Povo Brasileiro and An Invincible Memory. Our investigation has its theoretical starting point based on Corpus-Based Translation Studies (Baker, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2000; Camargo, 2005, 2007), and works on cultural domains (Nida, 1945; Aubert, 1981, 2006). The results showed that great part of cultural marks may be classified as the material, social, and ideological cultural domains, which reflects the context of the source text. It was also possible to observe that normalization features tends to reveal conscious or unconscious use of fluency strategies by the self-translator, making the translated text easier to read.

This article aims to reflect on the contribution of oral history in studies involving memory and identity of ethnic groups. Problematic issues here are part of the result of two recently completed researches, which consisted of reconstructing the memory of Afro-Brazilians from the methodology of oral history. These surveys were intended to transpose, into written language, memories transmitted by oral tradition and which was confined to family circles. The first was to investigate the process of identification and transmission of knowledge from a black cultural practice in the countryside of So Paulo (Piracicaba, Capivari, and Tiet), the Batuque of Umbigada, and the second to reconstruct the stories and culture of Afro-Brazilians in the city of Itu, So Paulo.

Based on the relationship between the concept of Historical Consciousness, as Jrn Rsen and Reinhart Koselleck proposed, and the concept of Historical Explanation, proposed by Isabel Barca, the article presents an analytical course that allows you to check levels of explanation in historical narratives produced by students Brazilian and Portuguese from the interpretation of sources related to a historical fact: the transfer of the Portuguese royal family to Brazil (1808).
