The Difficult and tortuous path of agricultural cooperative networks in spain, 1890-1935

The rural associationism developed from the last decades of the XIX century could be consider as an answer of the agriculturists to the increasing integration of agriculture in the market, and to the effects of the Great Depression. In the case of Spain, the initiatives in this sense arose with certain delay in relation to the countries of Western Europe. The beginning of the Spanish cooperativism is closely bound to the Law of 1906. It granted the agrarian cooperatives with fiscal exemptions and other types of supports to the associates, although the process did not really accelerate until the promulgation of the law regulation in 1908.

Reivindicación de la Independencia Intelectual en la primera época de Cuadernos del Congreso por la Libertad de la Cultura: I (marzo-mayo de 1953)- XXVII (noviembre-diciembre de 1957)

La “retórica de la libertad” ocupó una posición dominante durante la primera época de la revista Cuadernos, publicación en castellano del Congreso por la Libertad de la Cultura, donde colaboraron numerosos intelectuales republicanos exiliados. El Congreso por la Libertad de la Cultura, fundado durante la guerra fría cultural por el gobierno de los EEUU, y organizado y financiado por sus servicios secretos (CIA), utilizó grandes ideales, como la lucha antitotalitaria y la independencia intelectual, con el fin de promover determinadas actitudes en la intelectualidad occidental, con el fin de “vacunarla” a la influencia del comunismo. --------- La “retòrica de la llibertat” va ocupar una posició dominant durant la primera època de la revista Cuadernos, publicació en castellà del Congrés per la Llibertat de la Cultura, on van col•laborar nombrosos intel•lectuals republicans exiliats. El Congrés per la Llibertat de la Cultura, fundat durant la guerra freda cultural pel govern dels EEUU, i organitzat i finançat pels seus serveis secrets (CIA), va utilitzar grans ideals, com la lluita antitotalitaria i la independència intel•lectual, amb la finalitat de promoure determinades actituds en la intel•lectualitat occidental, amb la finalitat de “vacunar-la” a la influència del comunisme.

Estudo sobre os Ceratopogonídeos de Minas Gerais: I - Descrição dos machos de Heteromyia chaquensis Duret & Lane, 1955 e Dasyhelea paulistana Forattini & Rabello, 1957 (Diptera, Ceratopogonidae)

This paper describes some results of a systematic survey of the Ceratopogonidae midges of the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Three species, Stilobezzia punctulata Lane, 1947, Heteromyia chaquensis Duret & Lane, 1955 and Dasyhelea paulistana Forattini & Rabello, 1957 were identified from a small lake, "Lagoinha" or "Olhos d'Água", near to the main lake of Lagoa Santa. The first descriptions of the males of Heteromyia chaquensis and Dasyhelea paulistana are presented.

The Adoption of agricultural credit cooperativism in Spain (1890-1935) : solidarity from below?

The spread of agrarian credit cooperativism in Spain (1890-1934) was done under a variety of ideological and economic orientations. This article focuses on the construction of a few tools and indicators to explain the characteristics of agricultural credit cooperatives. An analysis of financial operations of rural savings banks is related with socio-political aspects that influenced their development; This analysis helps us to explain the relative success of German credit cooperative models adopted in the context of Spanish agriculture, as happened on European periphery.

El Raiffesianismo español: cooperativismo agrícola confesional de crédito en España 1890-1934

La difusión del cooperativismo agrario de crédito en España (1890-1934) se realizó bajo distintas orientaciones ideológicas y económicas. El trabajo se centra en reconstruir la información estadística dispinible para ofrecer una imagen económica de las principales variables que permitan describir la evolución del fenómeno a lo largo de la cronología seleccionada. Se realiza un considerable esfuerzo en el análisis de funcionamiento financiero de las cajas rurales ligado a otros aspectos sociopolíticos que influyeron en su desenvolvimiento, para analizar el éxito relativo de un proceso de adaptación de los modelos cooperativistas de crédito alemanes a la realidad agraria española, como sucedió en otras periferias europeas.

Cet article offre la première chronologie des lecteurs de Walras en Russie, entre 1890 et 1919. Ce panorama de la pensée économique russe est le résultat de recherches originales effectuées dans des bibliothèques en Russie, ainsi que quelques fonds d'archives. La plupart de ces informations sont en soi inédites. Elles ne constituent toutefois que des matériaux pour de subséquentes recherches, qui sont esquissées dans le commentaire final de cet article.

Infection of Oxydoras kneri Bleecker, 1862 (Pisces, Doradidae) by the acanthocephalan Paracavisoma impudica (Diesing, 1851) Kritcher, 1957

Infection of Oxydoras kneri by the acanthocephalan Paracavisoma impudica is described. The parasites do not penetrate deeply into the host gut wall and do not reach the muscularis layers. Host reaction is minimal, consisting of limited fibrosis around the proboscides. Haemorrhages and lymphocyte infiltration are not observed, and phagocytic cells are only present occasionally. Oxydoras kneri is a newly reported host for Paracavisoma impudica.
