This paper reports experiments involving the electrochemical combustion of humic acid (HA) and removal of algae from pond water. An electrochemical flow reactor with a boron-doped diamond film anode was used and constant current experiments were conducted in batch recirculation mode. The mass transfer characteristics of the electrochemical device were determined by voltammetric experiments in the potential region of water stability, followed by a controlled current experiment in the potential region of oxygen evolution. The average mass transfer coefficient was 5.2 x 10(-5) m s(-1). The pond water was then processed to remove HA and algae in the conditions in which the reaction combustion occurred under mass transfer control. To this end, the mass transfer coefficient was used to estimate the initial limiting current density applied in the electrolytic experiments. As expected, all the parameters analyzed here-solution absorbance at 270 nm, total phenol concentration and total organic carbon concentration-decayed according to first-order kinetics. Since the diamond film anode successfully incinerated organic matter, the electrochemical system proved to be predictable and programmable.

Neste trabalho estuda-se o processo de flotação por ar dissolvido (FAD) como método de remoção de óleos emulsificados. Realizou-se uma revisão bibliográfica tanto do processo de flotação como dos fundamentos físico-químicos envolvidos na estabilidade e flotação de emulsões. Foram realizados testes de estabilidade de emulsões, de FAD descontínuos e contínuos, utilizando-se emulsões de 1000 mg/l de Óleo diesel e heptano. Verificou-se a eficiência do sulfato de alumínio e de compostos poliméricos como agentes desestabilizantes. Estudou-se a influência do tipo e concentração dos agentes desestabilizantes, pH da emulsão, do tipo de água e agitação nos testes de estabilidade como também na flotação por ar dissolvido. Os resultados obtidos indicaram a viabilidade técnica da aplicação do processo para a clarificação de efluentes oleosos atingindo valores de turbidez residual satisfatórios (menores que 5 UNT). O sulfato de alumínio mostrou-se mais eficiente como agente desestabilizante de ambas emulsões nos estudos de estabilidade e testes de PAD descontínuos, mas o polímero catiônico C-505 apresentou melhores resultados nos testes de flotação contínuos. O presente trabalho ainda apresenta um estudo de dimensionamento e do custo da unidade de FAD para remoção de óleos emulsificados que leva em consideração os custos de investimentos e de operação da unidade. Verifica-se que o custo total da unidade depende da vazão de alimentação, taxa de recirculação, taxa ar/sólido em massa e concentração inicial de óleos. Conclui-se que para as taxas de ar/sólido usados na indústria (geralmente menores que 0,1) o custo operacional do reagente é o parâmetro determinante do custo total atualizado da unidade. Isto faz com que o custo total atualizado seja essencialmente independente da relação taxa de aplicação - taxa ar/sólido.

O presente trabalho estuda a viabilidade da utilização do processo de flotação a ar dissolvido (FAD) no tratamento de efluentes contendo cromo. Tal processo é analisado comparativamente à sedimentação. Urna revisão dos diferentes tipos de processos de separação ou de recuperação do cromo é, também, aqui apresentada. Soluções contendo 200 mg.l" de cromo tri ou hexavalente foram estudadas quanto às condições ideais de precipitação, às características de sedimentação e de flotação a ar dissalvido em regime descontínuo e contlnuo. Agentes poliméricos foram testados no intuito de melhorar as condições de clarificação. O processo de FAD foi o que apresentou melhores resultados no que se refere a cinética de separação sólido/líquido, e em termos de clarificação das soluções. Estudos de separação sólido/líquido de soluções contendo cromo VI foram feitos por estes dois processos empregando sulfato ferroso e sulfito de sódio como agentes redutores. A FAD mostrou ser eficiente para tratar as soluções quando reduzidas com sulfito de sódio. Porém, no caso da utilização do sulfato ferroso como redutor, o rendimento da FAD diminuiu no tratamento de soluções que continham sólidos suspensos acima de uma concentração crítica. Polímeros também foram empregados neste caso, e confirmaram sua atuação melhorando a cinética de separação sólido/líquido e como agentes que beneficiam a clarificação das soluções. Os resultados dos estudos de flotação por ar dissolvido em uma unidade contínua mostraram que é viavel a FAD sem agentes floculantes ou tensoativos. No entanto, estes aumentam os níveis de clarificação das soluções. Apenas os floculantes a base de amido mostraram-se ineficientes nesta aplicação. Conclui-se que o processo de FAD pode ser utilizado no tratamento de efluentes contendo cromo permitindo obter efluentes finais dentro dos padrões de emissão da legislação brasileira.

Foram estudadas as características de floculação da hidro-xiapatita, calcita e quartzo com poliacrilamidas aniônicas. Tanto as suspensões de hidroxiapatita como a calcita foram completamente floculadas enquanto que o quartzo foi refratário a floculação com esses polimeros. Entretanto, observou-se que a floculação da calcita foi impedida com a utilização de um poliacrilato de sódio, enquanto que a hidroxiapatita continuou a ser floculada pela poliacrilamida num intervalo de concentração de O a 1000 g/ton de poliacrilato. Estes resultados permitiram estabelecer condições para a floculação seletiva de hidroxiapatita em misturas sintéticas com quartzo e calcita. Nestes sistemas foram estudados diversos parâmetros operacionais, tais como tipo de separação, efeito do teor da alimentação, e influência da moagem. Onde a separação estagiada apresentou melhor resultado, uma moagem adicional no sistema não favoreceu a seletividade. Por outro lado, o teor de P205 no concentrado é proporcional ao teor presente na alimentação. A hidroxiapatita, em estudo, de alta pureza (de acordo com técnicas de análise química, espectrofotometria de infravermelho e difração de raios X) apresentou um parto de carga zero em pH 6,77 na presença de diversos eletrólitos. A aplicação do sistema de floculação seletiva a fraçoes ultrafinas industriais foi estudada em detalhe e comparada com processos de flotação e floco-flatação. 0s resultados obtidos mostraram que a floculação seletiva somente foi eficiente nos sistemas sintéticos. A flotação, embora o minério apresente uma granulometria muito fina, foi mais eficiente que a floculação seletiva e a floco-flotação nos sistemas reais, em termos de taxa de enriquecimento e percentual de rejeição de massa. Entretanto com a floco-flotação foi possivel obter altas recuperações(-90%) para os minérios de Araxá e Itataia. Para o minério de Tapira, um aumento do teor de P2O5 foi obtido com a flotação da fração seletivamente floculada. As taxas de enriquecimento obtidas foram baixas (entre 1,35 e 2,101 em função das associações entre a apatita do minério com óxido de ferro e argila, o que revelou a caracterização mineralógica. Conclue-se que a concentração de minerios fosfatados de baixo teor é uma operação onerosa, onde o fator predominante é a absorção seletiva de reagentes e atransferência não específica de material de ganga nos respectivos concentrados.

Este estudo tem por objetivo definir um sistema de flotação em coluna para ser utilizado, em um sistema rougher, para flotar partículas grossas de fluorita. Para esse fim, foi proposta uma detalhada investigação de parâmetros que poderiam influenciar o processo de flotação de partículas grossas. Foram definidos dois perfis granulométricos com alto conteúdo de grossos em comparação à granulometria convencional, e foi analisada a variação dos parâmetros de separação (recuperação e teor) em função de determinados parâmetros operacionais, como concentração do agente coletor (tall oil), velocidade superficial do ar, concentração de sólidos na polpa de alimentação, velocidade superficial de água de bias e de água de lavagem. Nesse trabalho, a inovação proposta é a utilização da coluna de flotação para a concentração de partículas grossas em uma etapa rougher, trabalhando em regime de bias negativo (velocidade de alimentação maior que a velocidade de rejeito), como aplicação e otimização de um sistema de flotação rápida (tipo flash flotation) em coluna curta. Os resultados obtidos em coluna mostram que, mesmo com uma granulometria grossa, é possível atingir valores de recuperação e teor semelhantes aos anotados na flotação de finos. Nos ensaios com bias negativo (0,3 cm/s), foram registrados teores acima de 85% de fluorita nos concentrados, com recuperações em torno de 70%. Os teores de sílica e carbonato foram menores em comparação a um sistema convencional, em escala de bancada. Os ensaios com adição de água de bias também apresentaram bons resultados metalúrgicos. Nesses ensaios a mobilidade das bolhas de ar apresentou um aumento, uma vez que o fluxo ascendente de água de bias ajudou a diminuir o conteúdo de ar na zona de coleção. Esse efeito foi comprovado pelos menores valores de hold up. O ensaio com bias negativo e água de lavagem, aqui considerado como um indicativo para novos estudos, mostrou um efeito negativo da água com relação à recuperação, mas bastante positivo com relação à seletividade, uma vez que baixos valores de teor de sílica e carbonato foram observados, sendo que nesse sistema uma única etapa rougher foi suficiente para a obtenção de fluorita tipo cerâmico. A partir dos resultados, é possível afirmar que a coluna de flotação, operando em regime de bias negativo, se mostra um equipamento eficiente na recuperação de partículas minerais grossas, podendo ser considerada uma rota tecnicamente adequada para o aproveitamento, concentração e controle de qualidade de minérios, como o de fluorita.

O presente trabalho apresenta estudos sistemãticos da caracterização do carvão de Candiota em termos do seu beneficiamento. O carvão de Candiota possui caracteristicas de moabilidade que o indicam como bastantefriável. A geração de finos (-28 malhas) atinge valores superiores a 20% independente do grau de britagem . As distribuições granulométricas resultantes da britagem do carvão obedecem a equação de ROSIN-RAIIMLER-BENNETT, dentro do intervalo previsto (frações menores do ue -4 malhas e maiores do que 100 malhas). Os valores de n e d ' não variam significativamente com a abertura do britador o, que evidencia sua friabiliade. foram estabelecidas equações que relacionam aberturado britador, coeficientes de distribuição e diâmetro médio.Estudos rni croscópicos demonstraram que, o grau de d i-s seminação da matéria inorgânica é muitointenso , e sua liberação atinge malhas muito pequenas (provavelmente menores do que 400 malhas). O teor de cinzas, como por exemplo do grau de disseminação, não variou significativamente com a diminuição de tamanho, como acontece com outros carvões. Foram estabelecidos dois critérios de liberação das particulas em função da quantidade de matéria carbonosa presente nas unidades mistas (20 - 80% e 5 - 95%, respectivamente). Estes indices de partyculas mistas (5 - 95% de matéria carbonosa) mantiveram-se constantes até tamanhos aproximados de 115 malhas, para logo diminuirem nas frações menores. Ainda assim, para frações menores do que 53 micrômetro a quantidade de mistos ( 5 - 95%) foi de 34%. As curvas de lavabilidade deste carvão (tanto da fração grossa quanto afina), reflexo das caracteristicas anteriores, indicam-no como de muito dificil beneficiamento (lavagem). Isto basicamente é devido ao alto grau de "near gravity matterial" presente e de seu grau de liberação. 0s testes de jigagem por bateladas, bem como outros processos de beneficiamento, demonstraram a dificuldade do beneficiamento deste carvão. O melhor teste de jigagem por bateladas, obteve uma recuperação de materia carbonosa de 73, 21 com um teor de cinzas de 45,51 no concretado (alimentação contendo 50% de cinzas). de 37,59% de cinzas (alimentação de 50% de cinzas). Propõe-se, finalmente, um circuito de beneficiamento convencional do carvão de Candiota, incluindo uma classificação do carvão ROM com o objetivo de separar a alimentação em duas frações (+28 e -28 malhas), seguido de um processo de beneficiamento das frações grosseiras por meios densos (tanques), e um tratamento das frações finas por hidrociclonagem. Os resultados obtidos concluem que o carvão de Candiota é o mais dificil de ser lavado dentre os carvões sul-brasileiros devido ao alto teor de cinzas e ao grau de disseminação, sendo que este teor de cinzas não varia muito com a granulometria, o que implica em um grau de liberação muito baixo. Sugere- se como outra alternativa no seu beneficiamento, o estudo de processos não convencionais que incluem um alto grau de cominuiçáo ate completa liberação.

The effluents released by the textile industry have high concentrations of alkali, carbohydrates, proteins, in addition to colors containing heavy metals. Therefore, a filter was prepared aiming primarily to the removal of color. In order to prepare this filter, rice hulls and diatomite were used, which have in their structure, basically amorphous hydrated silica. The silica exists in three crystalline forms: quartz, tridymite and cristobalite. In accordance with the above considerations, this study was divided into two stages; the first corresponds to the preparation of the filter and the second to carry out the tests in the effluent/filter in order to verify the efficiency of the color removal. First, the raw material was subjected to a chemical analysis and XRD, and then the diatomite was mixed, via humid, with a planetarium windmill with 20 %, 40 %, 60 % and 80 % of rice husk ash. To the mixture, 5 % carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) was added as a binder at room temperature. The samples were uniaxially compacted into metallic matrix of 0.3 x 0.1 cm² of area at a pressure of 167 MPa by means of hydraulic press and then sintered at temperatures of 1,000 °C, 1,200 °C and 1,400 °C for 1 h and submitted to granulometry test using laser, linear retraction, water absorption, apparent porosity and resistance to bending, DTA, TMA and XRD. To examine the pore structure of the samples scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used. Also tests were carried out in a mercury porosimeter to verify the average size of the pores and real density of the samples. In the second stage, samples of the effluent were collected from a local industry, whose name will be preserved, located in Igapó, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte - RN. The effluent was first pretreated before filtration and then subjected to a treatment of flotation. The effluent was then characterized before and after filtration, with parameters of color, turbidity, suspended solids, pH, chemical and biochemical oxygen demand (COD and BOD). Thus, through the XRD analysis the formation of cristobalite α in all samples was observed. The best average size of pore was found to be 1.75 μm with 61.04 % apparent porosity, thus obtaining an average 97.9 % color removal and 99.8 % removal of suspended solid

A self-flotator vibrational prototype electromechanical drive for treatment of oil and water emulsion or like emulsion is presented and evaluated. Oil production and refining to obtain derivatives is carried out under arrangements technically referred to as on-shore and off-shore, ie, on the continent and in the sea. In Brazil 80 % of the petroleum production is taken at sea and area of deployment and it cost scale are worrisome. It is associated, oily water production on a large scale, carrier 95% of the potential pollutant of activity whose final destination is the environment medium, terrestrial or maritime. Although diversified set of techniques and water treatment systems are in use or research, we propose an innovative system that operates in a sustainable way without chemical additives, for the good of the ecosystem. Labyrinth adsor-bent is used in metal spirals, and laboratory scale flow. Equipment and process patents are claimed. Treatments were performed at different flow rates and bands often monitored with control systems, some built, other bought for this purpose. Measurements of the levels of oil and grease (OGC) of efluents treaty remained within the range of legal framework under test conditions. Adsorbents were weighed before and after treatment for obtaining oil impregna-tion, the performance goal of vibratory action and treatment as a whole. Treatment technolo-gies in course are referenced, to compare performance, qualitatively and quantitatively. The vibration energy consumption is faced with and without conventional flotation and self-flotation. There are good prospects for the proposed, especially in reducing the residence time, by capillary action system. The impregnation dimensionless parameter was created and confronted with consecrated dimensionless parameters, on the vibrational version, such as Weber number and Froude number in quadratic form, referred to as vibrational criticality. Emerald mining is an important area of the economy in Brazil, country which is in second place among the exporting nations of this gem. Due to the process of extraction, a great amount of reject is generated. Since there is no appropriate destination, the reject is abandoned around the mining industries, contributing to environment degradation. Nowadays, some of the most relevant things to an industry in general are: energy conservation, cost reduction, quality and productivity enhancement. The production of isolating, transformed refractory materials achieves the sustainability dimension when protection of the environment is incorporated to such process. This work investigates the use of emerald mining rejects in the ceramic body of refractory materials, aiming at obtaining a product whose characteristics are compatible with commercial products and, at the same time, allow the use of such rejects to solve the environmental issue caused by its disposal in nature. X-ray fluorescence analysis show that the emerald reject obtained after the flotation to extract molybdenum and mica has 70% of silica and alumina (SiO2+Al2O3) and 21% of a basic oxides and alkaline metals and earthy alkaline mixture (Na2O, K2O, CaO e MgO). Because of the significant amount of silica and alumina present in the reject, four refractory ceramic bodies were prepared. Samples with a rectangular shape and dimensions 100x50x10 mm were pressed in a steel mold at 27,5 MPa and sintered at 1200ºC for 40 min. under environment atmosphere in a resistive oven. The sintered samples were characterized in relation to the chemical composition (FRX), mineralogical composition (DRX), microstructure (MEV) and physical and mechanical properties. The results indicate that the mixture with 45% of reject, 45% of alumina and 10% of kaolin presents a refractory quality of 1420ºC, dimensional linear variation below 2.00%, apparent specific mass of 1,56 g/cm3 and porosity of 46,68%, which demonstrates the potential use of the reject as raw material for the industry of isolating transformed refractory materials

In the petroleum industry, water is always present in the reservoir formation together with petroleum and natural gas and this fact provokes the production of water with petroleum, resulting in a great environmental impact. Several methods can be applied for treatment of oily waters, such as: gravitational vases, granulated media filtration systems, flotation process, centrifugation process and the use of hydrocyclones, which can also be used in a combined way. However, the flotation process has showed a great efficiency as compared with other methods, because these methods do not remove great part of the emulsified oil. In this work was investigated the use of surfactants derived from vegetable oils, OSS and OGS, as collectors, using the flotation process in a glass column with a porous plate filter in its base for the input of the gaseous steam. For this purpose, oil/water emulsions were prepared using mechanical stirring, with concentrations around 300 ppm. The air flow rate was set at 700 cm3/min and the porous plate filter used for the generation of the air bubbles has pore size varying from 16 to 40 Pm. The column operated at constant volume (1500mL). A new methodology has been developed to collect the samples, where, instead of collecting the water phase, it was collected the oil phase removed by the process in the top of the flotation column. It has been observed that it is necessary to find an optimum surfactant concentration to achieve enhanced removal efficiency. Being for OSS 1.275 mmol/L and for OGS 0.840 mmol/L, with removal efficiencies of 93% and 99%, respectively, using synthetic solutions. For the produced water, the removal in these concentrations was 75% for OSS and 65% for OGS. It is possible to remove oil from water in a flotation process using surfactants of high HLB, fact that is against the own definition of HLB (Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance). The interfacial tension is an important factor in the oil removal process using a flotation process, because it has direct interference in the coalescence of the oil drops. The spreading of the oil of the air bubble should be considered in the process, and for the optimum surfactant concentrations it reached a maximum value. The removal kinetics for the flotation process using surfactants in the optimum concentration has been adjusted according to a first order model, for synthetic water as for the produced water.

The generation of wastes in most industrial process is inevitable. In the petroleum industry, one of the greatest problems for the environment is the huge amount of produced water generated in the oil fields. This wastewater is a complex mixture and present great amounts. These effluents can be hazardous to the environmental without adequate treatment. This research is focused in the analysis of the efficiencies of the flotation and photo-oxidation processes to remove and decompose the organic compounds present in the produced water. A series of surfactants derivated from the laurilic alcohol was utilized in the flotation to promote the separation. The experiments have been performed with a synthetic wastewater, carefully prepared with xylene. The experimental data obtained using flotation presented a first order kinetic, identified by the quality of the linear data fitting. The best conditions were found at 0.029 g.L-1 for the surfactant EO 7, 0.05 g.L-1 for EO 8, 0.07 g.L-1 for EO 9, 0.045 g.L-1 for EO 10 and 0.08 g.L-1 for EO 23 with the following estimated kinetic constants: 0.1765, 0.1325, 0.1210, 0.1531 and 0.1699 min-1, respectively. For the series studied, the most suitable surfactant was the EO 7 due to the lower reagent onsumption, higher separation rate constant and higher removal efficiency of xylene in the aqueous phase (98%). Similarly to the flotation, the photo-Fenton process shows to be efficient for degradation of xylene and promoting the mineralization of the organic charge around 90% and 100% in 90 min

The pegmatite rocks in Rio Grande do Norte are responsible for much of the production of industrial minerals like quartz and feldspar. Quartz and feldspar are minerals from pegmatite which may occur in pockets with metric to centimetric dimensions or as millimetric to sub millimetric intergrowths. The correct physical liberation of the mineral of interest, in case of intergrowths, requires an appropriate particle size, acquired by size reduction operations. The method for treating mineral which has a high efficiency fines particles recovery is flotation. The main purpose of the present study is to evaluate the recovery of quartz and potassium feldspar using cationic diamine and quaternary ammonium salt as collectors by means of dissolved air flotation DAF. The tests were performed based on a central composite design 24, by which the influence of process variables was statistically verified: concentration of the quaternary ammonium salt and diamine collectors, pH and conditioning time. The efficiency of flotation was calculated from the removal of turbidity of the solution. Results of maximum flotation efficiency (60%) were found in the level curves, plotted in conditions of low concentrations of collectors (1,0 x 10-5 mol.L-1). These high flotation efficiencies were obtained when operating at pH 4 to 8 with conditioning time ranging from 3 to 5 minutes. Thus, the results showed that the process variables have played important roles in the dissolved air flotation process concerning the flotability of the minerals.

The treatment of oil produced water and its implications are continually under investigation and several questions are related to this subject. In the Northeast Region Brazil, the onshore reservoirs are, in its majority, mature oil fields with high production of water. As this oil produced water has high levels of oil, it cannot be directly discarded into the environment because it represents a risk for contamination of soil, water, and groundwater, or even may cause harm to living bodies. Currently, polyelectrolytes that promote the coalescence of the oil droplets are used to remove the dispersed oil phase, enhancing the effectiveness of the flotation process. The non-biodegradability and high cost of polyelectrolytes are limiting factors for its application. On this context, it is necessary to develop studies for the search of more environmentally friendly products to apply in the flotation process. In this work it is proposed the modeling of the flotation process, in a glass column, using surfactants derived from vegetal oils to replace the polyelectrolytes, as well as to obtain a model that represents the experimental data. In addition, it was made a comparative study between the models described in the literature and the one developed in this research. The obtained results showed that the developed model presented high correlation coefficients when fitting the experimental data (R2 > 0.98), thus proving its efficiency in modeling the experimental data.

In recent decades, the generation of solid and liquid waste has increased substantially due to increased industrial activity that is directly linked to economic growth. For that is the most efficient process, it is inevitable generation of such wastes. In the oil industry, a major waste generated in oil exploration is produced water, which due to its complex composition and the large amount generated, has become a challenge, given the restrictions imposed by environmental laws regarding their disposal, making if necessary create alternatives for reuse or treatment in order to reduce the content of contaminants and reduce the harmful effects to the environment. This water can be present in free form or emulsified with the oil, when in the form of an emulsion of oil-water type, it is necessary to use chemicals to promote the separation and flotation is the treatment method which has proved to be more efficient, for it can remove much of the emulsified oil when compared to other methods. In this context, the object of this work was to study the individual effects and interactions of some physicochemical parameters of operations, based on previous work to a flotation cell used in the separation of synthetic emulsion oil / water in order to optimize the efficiency of the separation process through of the 24 full factorial design with center point. The response variables to evaluate the separation efficiency was the percentage of color and turbidity removal. The independent variables were: concentration of de-emulsifying, oil content in water, salinity and pH, these being fixed, minimum and maximum limits. The analysis of variance for the equation of the empirical model, was statistically significant and useful for predictive purposes the separation efficiency of the floater with R2 > 90%. The results showed that the oil content in water and the interaction between the oil content in water and salinity, showed the highest values of the estimated effects among all the factors investigated, having great and positive influence on the separation efficiency. This work aims to investigate the process of Dissolved air Flotation (DAF) for clarifying water samples with low turbidity using aluminum sulphate and Moringa oleifera seeds as coagulants. The experimental procedure was carried out in a bench scale flotation unit. The influences on the pre-treatment conditions (coagulant dosage and flocculation time) and flotation parameters (superficial application rate and recirculation rate) were evaluated considering the efficiency of the process. The efficiency was evaluated by determining the turbidity of the untreated and treated water samples. The results obtained showed that turbidity reduction can be obtained very efficiently by using DAF and the latter coagulant in low turbidity water. Using aluminum sulphate in pH´s 5.0 and 6.0 better efficiencies were obtained with low concentrations (15 mg/L), achieving values of 92% of turbidity reduction. In the case of use of Moringa oleifera better efficiencies of reduction of turbidity were reported when using a concentration of 50 mg/L in all range of pH´s, achieving 86% of reduction. The zeta potential was also determined, in an attempt to aid comprehension of the coagulation mechanisms involved. The coagulation mechanisms with Moringa oleifera seeds were shown to be adsorption and charge neutralization, as well as adsorption and bridging. Concerning aluminum sulphate, the predominant mechanisms are adsorption and charge neutralization and enmeshment in a precipitate. The results indicate that for low turbidity water, Moringa oleifera seeds could potentially be a viable substitute for aluminum sulphate
