Os materiais ferroelétricos têm sido utilizados em muitas áreas da tecnologia e da ciência, pois possuem um grande número de aplicações, como: sensores; transdutores; capacitores; dispositivos ópticos; dentre outras. A busca por novos materiais cerâmicos ferroelétricos tem sido grande. Um dos materiais cerâmicos ferroelétricos mais estudados é o titanato de bário (BT). São vários os métodos de produção e caracterização do titanato de bário. Neste trabalho, pós cerâmicos de titanato de bário foram obtidos por reação do estado sólido a partir de misturas reacionais calcinadas em diferentes temperaturas entre 400C e 900C. Foram três as misturas reacionais: não dopadas; dopadas com 1%; e dopadas com 5% de dióxido de cério (CeO2). A identificação da formação do BT, nos pós cerâmicos produzidos, foi feita a partir de três técnicas de caracterização: difração de raios X (DRX); espectroscopia fotoacústica (PAS); e técnicas de análise térmica. Com a técnica DRX, difratogramas mostraram que a plena formação do titanato de bário ocorreu a partir da temperatura de calcinação de 700C. Para a amostra não dopada com cério e calcinada a 800C, houve deslocamento de todos os picos de difração. Nas amostras dopadas com dióxido de cério houve deslocamento de todos os picos de difração, em relação as amostras não dopadas. Observou-se também que nas amostras dopadas com 5% de CeO2, e calcinadas a 700C e 800C, resíduos de dióxido de cério foram observados nos difratogramas. Com a técnica PAS, espectros de absorção foram obtidos. Foi possível observar uma grande diferença de absorção da amostra calcinada a 600 e 630C, indicando a formação do titanato de bário a partir da temperatura de 630C, nas amostras sem a dopagem dióxido de cério. Houve um alargamento nas bandas de absorção a partir da temperatura de 600C, quando o dióxido de cério entrou na matriz. Foi também possível determinar as energias de band-gap das amostras utilizando o método de Tauc. Com as técnicas de análise térmica, em especial através da técnica termogravimétrica (TG/DTG), foi comprovado que até 400C não havia formação de titanato de bário. Visto que nesta temperatura de calcinação houve a maior perda de massa durante a rampa de aquecimento. O início da formação do titanato de bário foi observado a partir da temperatura de calcinação de 500C, assim como nas técnicas DRX e PAS. Portanto, com os resultados apresentados, foi demonstrada a identificação da formação do titanato de bário nas misturas reacionais calcinadas, com auxílio das potencialidades das três técnicas utilizadas.

水母雪莲(Saussurea medusa Maxim)为菊科凤毛菊属植物,是名贵中药材。为解决雪莲资源匮乏,我们实验室通过植物组织培养技术,成功的建立起水母雪莲细胞和毛状根体系。通过对它的药理实验及化学成分分析,主要成分为黄酮类物质和紫丁香甙单体。为了进一步提高这些物质在水母雪莲培养物中的含量,本文开展通过添加外源诱导子手段来调控水母雪莲次生代谢合成途径。 利用水杨酸(SA)和酵母提取物(YE)作为外源诱导子,添加到水母雪莲细胞系和毛状根系培养基中,研究诱导子不同添加浓度和不同添加时间对水母莲细胞系和毛状根系的生长及次生物质合成的诱导效应。实验结果发现:对于细胞系来说,SA比YE的诱导效果要好,低浓度SA处理时,不仅能促进细胞的生长,还能提高水母雪莲细胞中黄酮化合物和紫丁香甙的含量。其中,在细胞生长周期的第6天添加终浓度为20 μM的SA,诱导效果表现最佳。在此条件下,细胞内总黄酮产量达到532 mg/l,紫丁香甙为630 mg/l,分别比对照提高了130%,和150%。对于毛状根体系来说,SA和YE生长早期添加会抑制毛状根生长。总体上,YE的诱导效果比SA明显。在第10天添加终浓度为40 μg/ml的YE,总黄酮达到741 mg/l,紫丁香甙达到303 mg/l,分别是对照的2.8和2.5倍。 同时研究了20 μM和100 μM SA诱导下,黄酮合成途径中相关酶的变化。发现,低浓度的SA能在短时间内诱导CHS和CHI表达,24h后PAL酶活性升高到对照的7.5倍,而48 h总黄酮的含量检测到最高值。因此可以初步断定,SA诱导苯基苯丙烷类物质的积累与CHS和CHI表达,PAL酶活性提高有关。 另外,从水母雪莲cDNA中克隆到雪莲黄酮合成途径的第一个关键酶—查耳酮合成酶基因(SmCHS)全长cDNA。此cDNA序列全长为1313bp,其编码的蛋白为389个氨基酸,推测的氨基酸序列与许多物种都高度同源,同源性高达88%。生物信息学分析,SmCHS具有CHS-like保守结构域,其二级结构与苜蓿的CHS十分相似,且苜蓿中的CHS酶活性中心的关键氨基酸位点在SmCHS也一致对应相同,没有突变。因此可以初步推测这个SmCHS应该具有查耳酮合成酶功能。并进一步构建SmCHS植物表达载体,转化拟南芥chs突变体,通过功能互补分析研究此基因的功能。由于时间关系这部分研究尚在进行中。

毛乌素沙地是中国半干旱地区典型沙地,这里的干旱生态系统对全球的水热配合格局的变化具有很灵敏的响应。随着未来全球气候变化,如温度和降水量变化,将给这里的陆地生态系统分布格局和生产力以及水分平衡带来巨大影响。故本文人工控制157. 5mm、315. Omm、472. 5mm和630. Omm4种施水量水平以及25/20℃和28/23℃(白天/晚上)两种温度,来研究与模拟毛乌素沙地优势植物对水分和温度变化的响应。 以沙柳、杨柴和油蒿幼苗为研究对象,人工控制4种降水量水平来探讨它们的水分平衡对全球变化中降水量变化的响应。结果表明,随着施水量的增加,沙地贮水量及其它的变化量、湿度、蒸发量和蒸腾量均逐渐增大。并且157. 5mm和315. Omm施水量的植物沙地出现水分亏缺现象。相同施水量下,沙地蓄水量和湿度均杨柴沙地>沙柳沙地>油蒿沙地,而植物蒸腾量却油蒿>沙柳>杨柴。 以沙柳和油蒿幼苗为研究对象,人工控制4种降水量水平来探讨植物气体交换过程对全球变化中降水量变化的响应。结果表明,施水量的增加显著提高了两种植物的净光合速率、蒸腾速率、气孔导度和光能利用效率,并且显著降低了叶片温度。同时,157. 5mm施水量造成沙柳和油蒿的净光合速率和蒸腾速率具有显著的“午睡”现象,而充足施水却有效的解除或缓解这种“午睡”现象。 以沙柳、杨柴、油蒿和柠条幼苗为研究对象,人工控制4种降水量水平来探讨植物叶绿素荧光对全球变化中降水量变化的响应。结果表明,不同施水量对这4种植物的初始荧光、最大荧光、可变荧光和PSII光化学效率均具有显著影响。157. 5mm施水量的沙柳、杨柴、油蒿和柠条以及630. Omm施水量的柠条出现明显的光抑制现象。 以沙柳、杨柴、油蒿和柠条幼苗为研究对象,人工控制4种降水量水平来探讨植物生长对全球变化中降水量变化的响应。结果表明,施水量的增加对沙柳、油蒿和杨柴枝叶形态和生物量等都具有显著正效应。而157. 5mm和630. Omrn的施水量对柠条生长具有负作用。另外,沙柳、杨柴和油蒿根冠生物量比随着施水量增加均逐渐减小,而不同施水量的油蒿根冠生物量比之间差异不显著。 以柠条、杨柴和油蒿幼苗为研究对象,人工控制两种温度水平来探讨植物形态、生物量和气候交换特征对增温的响应。结果表明,增温显著提高了柠条和杨柴株高、叶数、叶面积、生物量、净光合速率、蒸腾速率和气孔导度,却显著降低了水分利用效率。增温对油蒿叶数、叶大小、叶面积、生物量、蒸腾速率和气孔导度没有显著影响,却显著提高了油蒿的树高和净光合速率。柠条、杨柴和油蒿之间的种间生长和生理特征均有显著差异。

The potential use of YBa2Cu3C7as an active component in a magnetic bearing is being investigated. Measurements are being made of the load bearing capacity and related stiffnesses in comparison to predictions from the critical state model. Although the load bearing capacity is high and increases with the square of the magnetic field trapped the stiffness is low. We report on a novel design concept to overcome this problem. © 1995 IEEE

Studies on reproductive biology and artificial propagation including larval rearing of freshwater mud eel, Monopterus cuchia and spiny eel, Mastacembelus armatus were attempted. The gonadosomatic index (GSI) of mud eel ranged from 0.41 (August) to 5.52 (June) in males and 0.53 (August) to 7.61 (June) in females. In both cases the GSI showed a peak in June. Fecundity ranged from 228 (TL - 396 mm; W - 78g) to 5510 (TL - 865 mm; W - 630 g). In case of spiny eel, the GSI varied from 0.65 (August) to 8.30 (July) in males and 0.70 (August) to 10.46 (July) in females. GSI showed single peak in July. Fecundity ranged from 570 (TL - 240 mm; W - 30 g) to 10870 (TL - 601; W - 350g). Histology of the testes and ovaries of the eels were carried out to investigate the gonadal development stages during the reproductive months (August to November 2003). In case of male M. cuchia, the secondary primordial germ cells, primary spermatogonium, some spermatogonia A and clone of spermatogonium B in testis were observed in September. In October-males different sized lobules having spermatogonia, spermatocytes and spermatids were observed. In the ovary of M. cuchia, polygonal shaped oocytes were seen during September. The oogonia were reduced with dense and irregular shaped during October. Numerous pycnotic cells were visible during November. In male M. armatus numerous broken lobule walls were found in testes during September. In October, abundant primary germ cells, pycnotic nests of degenerating cells, spermatogonia and spermatids were observed. In females, ovaries had distinct yolk vesicles stage and yolk granules stages in August. In September, the follicular cells of the oogonia were ruptured, shrunk forming irregular shaped in October. Oogonia were also shrunk with thin, irregular shaped structure but broken parts of the ruptured follicular cells were scattered in case of M. armatus. Experimental attempts on artificial propagation indicated that both freshwater eels were difficult to breed using inducing agents like pituitary glands (PG) of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 150 mg per kg of body weight. Same doses were used for both sexes with equal sex-ratio. In both cases, brood fish died at higher doses of injection given at 100 and 150 mg PG/kg bodyweight. However, M. cuchia breed naturally in cisterns when provided with water hyacinths and tunnel in muddy bottom. M. cuchia fed with chopped cooked fish attained a mean weight of 18.75 ± 2.3 g and cent percent survival. While in case of M. armatus best growth by weight (12.0 ± 2.48 g) and cent percent survival were achieved using chopped raw fish. Car tyre was observed as best shelter for attaining the mean weight gain 22.53 ± 2.24 g and cent percent survival of M. cuchia. While PVC pipe was found to be the best shelter for M. armatus, where it attained the mean weight of 12.73 ± 1.88 g and cent percent survival.

A bradykinin-like peptide has been isolated from the skin secretions of the frog Rana nigrovittata. This peptide was named ranakinin-N. Its primary structure, RAEAVPPGFTPFR, was determined by Edman degradation and mass spectrometry. It is structurally related to bradykinin-like peptides identified from skin secretions of other amphibians. Ranakinin-N is composed of 13 amino acid residues and is related to the bradykinin identified from the skin secretions of Odorrana schmackeri, which is composed of 9 amino acid residues. Ranakinin-N was found to exert concentration-dependent contractile effects on isolated guinea pig ileum. cDNA sequence encoding the precursor of ranakinin-N was isolated from a skin cDNA library of R. nigrovittata. The amino acid sequences deduced from the cDNA sequences match well with the results from Edman degradation. Analysis of different amphibian bradykinin cDNA structures revealed that the deficiency of a 15-nucleotide fragment (agaatgatcagacgc in the cDNA encoding bradykinin from O. schmackeri) in the peptide-coding region resulted in the absence of a dibasic site for trypsin-like proteinases and an unusual -AEVA- insertion in the N-terminal part of ranakinin-N. The -AEAV- insertion resulted in neutral net charge at the N-terminus of ranakinin-N. Ranakinin-N is the first reported bradykinin-like peptide with a neutral net charge at the N-terminus. A study on the feasibility of bi-culture of mud crab (Scylla serrata) and shrimp (Penaeus monodon) in brackishwater earthen ponds (0.1 ha each) was carried out for a period of five months (March-August). Nursed shrimp juvenile (ABL:· 3.36±0.23 em and ABW: 0.26±0.04 g) and crab juvenile (ACL: 2.61±0.22 cm, ACW: 4.63±0.11 cm and ABW: 43±2.64 g) were stocked following the experimental design of shrimp 2/m2 (Treatment-1), shrimp 2/m2 and mud crab l/m2 (Treatment-2) and shrimp 2/m2 and mud crab 0.5/m2 (Treatment-3). Crabs were fed with chopped trash tilapia @ 10~5%, while shrimp were fed with Saudi-Bangla shrimp feed @ 3~5% of biomass twice daily. Significantly (p<0.05) higher specific growth rate (SGR) of shrimp and mud crab was 1.86% (g/day) in T2 and 0.83% (g/day) in T3, respectively. The survival of shrimp and mud crab also varied significantly (p<0.05) with a higher mean value of74.63% in Tl and 51.04% in T3, respectively. The production of shrimp (424.09 kg/ha) was significantly (p<0.05) higher in Tl and that of mud crab (568.80 kg/ha) in T2. Significantly (p<0.05) highest total production of 871.29 kg!ha was in T2 followed by 708.52 kg/ha in T3 and 424.09 kg/ha in Tl. The results indicate that mud crab can be cultured at a stocking rate of 1/m2 together with shrimp at 2/m2 •
