The surface structures of the Si(113)-(1 X 1), Si(113)-(3 X 1) and Si(113)-(3 X 2) have been studied theoretically by means of an ab initio quantum chemical CNDO method. We address not only the importance of the surface energy but also the energy minimization and the barrier height in the different structural conversion. We found that (1) the relaxed Si(113)-(1 X 1) structure. (2) the Si(113)-(3 X 1) close to the Si(113) Ranke (3 X 1)-2 model; (3) the atomic positions of Si(113)-(3 X 2) corrugated arrangement. A detailed investigation of plasma screening effects on atomic structure and transition properties are presented for He-like ions embedded in dense plasma environment. Multi-configuration Dirac-Fock calculations were carried out for these ions by considering a Debye-Huckel potential. A large-scale relativistic configuration-interaction method is adopted to calculate transition energies and transition probabilities and to allow for a systematic improvement of the calculations. Comparison of the presently calculated results with others, when available, is made.

Microstructures and electrochemical properties of Ti0.26Zr0.07V0.21Mn0.1Ni0.33Mox (x=0,0.025,0.05,0.075, 0.10) electrode alloys have been investigated. The results of XRD analysis show that the alloys are mainly composed of V-based solid solution phase with body centered cubic (bcc) structure and C14 Laves phase with hexagonal structure. The addition of Mo element can imp ove the activation characteristics, maximum discharge capacity and cyclic durability for the electrode alloys

This paper describes the synthesis and selected reactions of a series of crystalline mono(beta-diiminato) yttrium chlorides 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b, 5c and 9. The X-ray structure of each has been determined, as well as of [YCl(L-4)(2)] (6), [Y(L-1)(2)OBut] (7) and [Y{CH(SiMe3)(2)}(thf)(mu-Cl)(2)Li(OEt2)(2)(mu-Cl)](2) (8).

Mo2O2S2(HGly)(GlY)(2) 1 and K-6[Mo2O2S2(nta)(2)][Mo2O2S2(ntaH)(2)]center dot 4H(2)O 2 were synthesized by the reactions of (NH4)(2)MoS4 and amino acids L (L = glycine, nitrilotriacetic acid) in ethanol-water medium at ambient temperature. The two complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, UV-visible spectra, TG-DTA and XPS.

The electronic structures and spectral properties of three Re(I) complexes [Re(CO)(3)XL] (X = Br, Cl; L = 1-(4-5 '-phenyl-1.3,4-oxadiazolylbenzyl)-2-pyridinylbenzoimidazole (1), 1-(4-carbazolylbutyl)-2-pyridinylbenzoimidazole (2), and 2-(1-ethyl benzimidazol-2-yl)pyridi ne (3)) were investigated theoretically. The ground and the lowest lying triplet excited states were full optimized at the B3LYP/LANL2DZ and CIS/LANL2DZ levels, respectively. TDDFT/PCM calculations have been employed to predict the absorption and emission spectra starting from the ground and excited state geometries, respectively.
