O HTML - Hypertext Markup Language - é uma linguagem de marcação*, inicialmente concebida como uma solução para a publicação de documentos científicos em meios eletrônicos, que ganhou popularidade e se tornou padrão para a Internet. Diversos tipos de aplicações, como navegadores, editores, programas de e-mail, bancos de dados etc., tornam possível atualmente o uso intensivo do HTML. Ao longo dos anos, recursos têm sido adicionados ao HTML para que ele possa atender às expectativas de usuários e sistemas computadorizados, aumentando sua complexidade. Estima-se que a versão 4.0 do HTML possua aproximadamente cem diferentes marcações fixas (conhecidas como tags), sem contar aquelas específicas para cada tipo de navegador da Internet. É comum se encontrarem páginas HTML que possuem mais marcações do que conteúdo. Uma possível solução para novas demandas nessa área é a utilização do Extended Markup Language (XML), uma linguagem de marcação que pode introduzir novas possibilidades e trazer melhor integração entre dados e usuários. Este artigo se propõe a abordar, de forma introdutória, o XML, sua utilização na Internet, alguns conceitos complementares necessários ao entendimento do assunto em apresentar vantagens no uso do XML, em relação ao HTML. Além disso, pretende apresentar o assunto como um campo fértil para discussões, proposições e estudo por profissionais da ciência da informação.

Background and objective: Oral anti-cancer treatments have expanded rapidly over the last years. While taking oral tablets at home ensures a better quality of life, it also exposes patients to the risk of sub-optimal adherence. The objective of this study is to assess how well ambulatory cancer patients execute their prescribed dosing regimen while they are engaged with continuous anti-cancer treatments. Design: This is an on-going longitudinal study. Consecutive patients starting an oral treatment are proposed to enter the study by the oncologist. Then they are referred to the pharmacy, where their oral anticancer treatment is dispensed in a Medication Event Monitoring System (MEMSTM), which records date and time of each opening of the drug container. Electronically compiled dosing history data from the MEMS are summarized and used as feedback during semistructured interviews with the pharmacist, which are dedicated to prevention and management of side effects. Interviews are scheduled before each medical visit. Report of the interview is available to the oncologist via an on-line secured portal. Setting: Seamless care approach between a Multidisciplinary Oncology Center and the Pharmacy of an Ambulatory Care and Community Medicine Department. Main outcome measures: For each patient, the comparison between the electronically compiled dosing history and the prescribed regimen was summarized using a daily binary indicator indicating whether yes or no the patient has taken the medication as prescribed. Results: Study started in March 2008. Among 22 eligible patients, 19 were included (11 men, median age 63 years old) and 3 (14%) refused to participate. 15 patients were prescribed a QD regimen, 3 patients a BID and 1 patient switched from QD to BID during follow-up. Median follow up was 182 days (IQR 72-252). Early discontinuation happened in four patients: side effects (n = 1), psychiatric reasons (n = 1), cancer progression (n = 1) and death (n = 1). On average, the daily number of medications was taken as prescribed in 99% of the follow-up days. Conclusions: Execution of the prescribed dosing regimens was almost perfect during the first 6 months. Maintaining this high degree of regimen execution and persistence over time might however be challenging in this population and need therefore to be confirmed in larger and longer follow-up cohort studies.

El objetivo de este proyecto es familiarizarse con las tecnologías de Semántica, entender que es una ontología y aprender a modelar una en un dominio elegido por nosotros. Realizar un parser que conectándose a la la Wikipedia y/o DBpedia rellene dicha ontología permitiendo al usuario navegar por sus conceptos y estudiar sus relaciones.

En el curso y ejecución de este trabajo, ahondaré en el concepto de web semántica, unarealidad cada vez más tangible, que bajo el acrónimo de web 3.0 supondrá el relevo del actual modelo web.Al tratarse de un campo de aplicación muy extenso, centraremos la temática en el diseño y populación semiautomática de ontologías, siendo estas ultimas una pieza clave en el desarrollo y el éxito potencial de las tecnologías semánticas.

However, this work aims to be more specific. It is attempted to address a detailed analysis of the technologies that use concepts and tools of the Semantic Web, verifying their actual usefulness, quantifying as far as possible the impact and trying to extrapolate data about its future.It will be an analysis of what the Semantic Web is, how it is defined, which languages are the most appropriate for their development, the commercial applications that can be developed with Semantic Web technology, the applications that are currently running with this technology what kind of deployment of the Semantic Web currently exists, the real use of the Semantic Web technology...

Heavy-ion reactions and other collective dynamical processes are frequently described by different theoretical approaches for the different stages of the process, like initial equilibration stage, intermediate locally equilibrated fluid dynamical stage, and final freeze-out stage. For the last stage, the best known is the Cooper-Frye description used to generate the phase space distribution of emitted, noninteracting particles from a fluid dynamical expansion or explosion, assuming a final ideal gas distribution, or (less frequently) an out-of-equilibrium distribution. In this work we do not want to replace the Cooper-Frye description, but rather clarify the ways of using it and how to choose the parameters of the distribution and, eventually, how to choose the form of the phase space distribution used in the Cooper-Frye formula. Moreover, the Cooper-Frye formula is used in connection with the freeze-out problem, while the discussion of transition between different stages of the collision is applicable to other transitions also. More recently, hadronization and molecular dynamics models have been matched to the end of a fluid dynamical stage to describe hadronization and freeze-out. The stages of the model description can be matched to each other on space-time hypersurfaces (just like through the frequently used freeze-out hypersurface). This work presents a generalized description of how to match the stages of the description of a reaction to each other, extending the methodology used at freeze-out, in simple covariant form which is easily applicable in its simplest version for most applications.

Sähköinen reseptijärjestelmä nykyisessä muodossaan sai alkunsa Sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön aloitteesta ja Kansaneläkelaitoksen toimesta vuoden 2001 aikana. Käytössä oleva kansallinen reseptipalvelin mahdollistaa potilaiden oikeudet muun muassa apteekin vapaaseen valintaan ja lääkkeiden suorakorvausmenetelmään. Sähköinen resepti pyritään integroimaan olemassa olevien potilasrekisterijärjestelmien yhteyteen, joten semanttisen webin tuomat teknologiat kuten Web-palvelut ja XML-pohjaiset kielet ovat tärkeässä asemassa reseptien hallinnassa. Tässä työssä pyritään esittämään sähköisen reseptijärjestelmän toimintaa ja sen mahdollistavia jo olemassa olevia tekniikoita. Esille tuodaan myös uusia lisäarvoa tuovia tekniikoita, kuten RDF(S)-kuvauskielet, jotka mahdollistavat muun muassa resepteihin kohdistuvat kyselyt ja täten uudet terveyspalvelut sekä potilaille että lääkäreille. Oleellista on tietenkin myös tietoturva, sillä organisaatioiden välillä resepteissä liikkuu arkaluontoisia tietoja. Turvallisuutta pyritään edistämään muun muassa sähköisillä allekirjoituksilla ja älykorttien avulla tapahtuvalla järjestelmään tunnistautumisella. Jotta sähköinen resepti toimisi tulevaisuudessakin halutulla tavalla ja mahdollistaisi lisäarvopalveluita, on siinä panostettava sisällön lisäksi senkuvaamiseen. Sisällön ja sen suhteiden tarkka määrittely auttaa muun muassa reseptikyselyjen tekemisessä, mikä onkin olennainen osa potilasturvallisuuden ylläpitoa. Kuvauskielien ja ontologioiden käyttö voi myös auttaa lääkehoidon määrittämisessä useiden erilaisten ja jatkuvasti lisääntyvien lääkkeiden viidakossa, kun lääkkeitä voidaan etsiä tietokannoista reseptin kirjoituksen yhteydessä.
