North Cumbria Fisheries Advisory Committee 16th October, 1979.

This is the report from the North Cumbria Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 16th October 1979. The report contains the minutes of the last meeting along with the minutes of the Regional Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting held on 12th July 1979, information on the cormorant population, and draft netting rights for the River Eden. Also included is the report by the area fisheries officer which looks at river conditions and fishing of salmon, sea/brown trout and coarse fish, migratory fish movements, an update on Holmwrangle Hatchery, pollution incidents and fish mortalities, and biological work carried out investigating salmonid fish populations. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

Northern Area Fisheries Advisory Committee 16th June, 1981

This is the report from the Northern Area Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 16th June, 1981. It includes information on fisheries in the Solway Firth, fishing licence duties and the minutes of the last meeting held on the 30th March, 1981. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

Mersey & Weaver Fisheries Advisory Committee 16th January, 1980.

This is the report from the Mersey and Weaver Fisheries Advisory Committee meeting, which was held on the 16th January 1980. The report contains sections on the minutes of the meeting held on the 24th October 1979, the EEC Directive on the quality of freshwaters and terminated angling leases. It also covers the report by the area fisheries officer which looks at river conditions and fishing, Hollingworth and Pilot hatcheries, stocking carried out by Angling Associations and the Authority and mortalities. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

West Cumbria Special Fisheries Advisory Group 16th May, 1986

This is the report from the West Cumbria Special Fisheries Advisory Group meeting, which was held on the 16th May, 1986. The report contains sections on a Fish Pass at Ennerdale, Authority proposals for discharge of compensation water from Ennerdale and a diagram of fish pass at Ennerdale. The Fisheries Advisory Committee was part of the Regional Water Authorities, in this case the North West Water Authority. This preceded the Environment Agency which came into existence in 1996.

A atitude interdisciplinar e o conhecimento: uma leitura da obra de Jorge Luis Borges

Essa dissertação faz parte da linha de pesquisa Currículo: sujeitos, conhecimento e cultura do grupo de pesquisa Currículo, identidade e diferença, coordenado pela professora doutora Elizabeth Fernandes de Macedo. Em meu trabalho, investigo como se pode estabelecer uma leitura que cruza saberes distintos entre si. Assim, parto da leitura de que o conhecimento na obra de Jorge Luis Borges é simples e uno, o que traz como consequência principal a ideia de que as especializações são efetivamente variações. Para efetuar uma análise no interior desse cenário, extraio também da obra de Borges a ferramenta da enumeração via princípios, buscando mostrar que um ponto de cruzamento reconcilia saberes, mas sem que este seja determinado previamente. Em outras palavras, esse ponto de cruzamento é forjado na articulação da linguagem. Feita essa nuance, localizo no primeiro capítulo a discussão da interdisciplinaridade, dialogando com a bibliografia acerca do tema, explorando nestes debates alguns dos seus intervalos e retirando daí possibilidades. No segundo capítulo, conjugo mais propriamente saberes distantes entre si como a filosofia, literatura, matemática e religião, justamente para enfatizar que essas manifestações do saber são variações do mesmo. E este mesmo não é inerte, mas sempre mais complexo, envolvendo sempre novas e bifurcadas manifestações. No terceiro capítulo, levo esse modo de leitura para abordar conceitos clássicos da pedagogia, uma vez mais para explorar intervalos. Portanto, ao longo da dissertação, costuro uma atitude interdisciplinar num horizonte em que o conhecimento é simples e uno como um modo de leitura em que o cruzamento dos saberes não é essencial e prévio

Aesthetic campaigns and counter-campaigns. Jorge Luis Borges and a century of the Argentine detective story (1877-1977)

This cultural history of Argentine crime fiction involves a comprehensive analysis of the literary and critical traditions within the genre, paying particular attention to the series of ‘aesthetic campaigns’ waged by Jorge Luis Borges and others during the period between 1933 and 1977. The methodological approach described in the introductory chapter builds upon the critical insight that in Argentina, generic discourse has consistently been the domain, not only of literary critics in the traditional mould, but also of prominent writers of fiction and specialists from other disciplines, effectively transcending the traditional tripartite ‘division of labour’ between writers, critics and readers. Chapter One charts the early development of crime fiction, and contextualises the evolution of the classical and hardboiled variants that were to provide a durable conceptual framework for discourse in the Argentine context. Chapter Two examines a number of pioneering early works by Argentine authors, before analysing Borges’ multi-faceted aesthetic campaign on behalf of the ‘classical’ detective story. Chapter Three examines a transitional period for the Argentine crime genre, book-ended by the three Vea y Lea magazine-sponsored detective story competitions that acted as a vital stimulus to innovation among Argentine writers. It includes a substantial treatment of the work of Rodolfo Walsh, documenting his transition from crime writer and anthologist to pioneer of the non-fiction novel and investigative journalism traditions. Chapter Four examines the period in which the novela negra came to achieve dominance in Argentina, in particular the aesthetic counter-campaigns conducted by Ricardo Piglia and others on behalf of the hard-boiled variant. The study concludes with a detailed analysis of Pablo Leonardo’s La mala guita (1976), which is considered as a paradigmatic example of crime fiction in Argentina in this period. The final chapter presents conclusions and a summary of the dissertation, and recommendations for further research.

Nomenclature and syntaxonomic notes on some high-rank syntaxa of the European grassland vegetation

We present descriptions of a new order (Ranunculo cortusifolii-Geranietalia reuteri and of a new alliance (Stachyo lusitanicae-Cheirolophion sempervirentis) for the herbaceous fringe communities of Macaronesia and of the southwestern Iberian Peninsula, respectively. A new alliance, the Polygalo mediterraneae-Bromion erecti (mesophilous post-cultural grasslands), was introduced for the Peninsular Italy. We further validate and typify the Armerietalia rumelicae (perennial grasslands supported by nutrient-poor on siliceous bedrocks at altitudes characterized by the submediterranean climate of central-southern Balkan Peninsula), the Securigero-Dasypyrion villosae (lawn and fallow-land tall-grass annual vegetation of Italy), and the Cirsio vallis-demoni-Nardion (acidophilous grasslands on siliceous substrates of the Southern Italy). Nomenclatural issues (validity, legitimacy, synonymy, formal corrections) have been discussed and clarified for the following names: Brachypodio-Brometalia, Bromo pannonici-Festucion csikhegyensis, Corynephoro-Plantaginion radicatae, Heleochloion, Hieracio-Plantaginion radicatae, Nardetea strictae, Nardetalia strictae, Nardo-Callunetea, Nardo-Galion saxatilis, Oligo-Bromion, Paspalo-Heleochloetalia, Plantagini-Corynephorion and Scorzoneret alia villosae.

Para ello, se analiza y contextualiza la web semántica desde una perspectiva general para posteriormente analizar las principales iniciativas que trabajan con lo audiovisual: Proyecto MuNCH, Proyecto S5T, Semantic Television y VideoActive.
